Brilliant from Liverpool. Gritty performance with moments of quality when it counted. Southampton played really well - they were unlucky but the better team won in the end.
@lrgolfer14 After Fonte got the ball where was he supposed to go? You can't magically disappear from that situation. This is how tackling works , you might as well just give up on football altogether if you can't grasp that. He got the ball without doing him any harm so its a good tackle.
Surprised the OP didn't mention all those decisions and Pks which weren't given and Liverpool got away with it. Scousers really have a habit of remembering selective things when it comes to football.
Fancy Southampton to get a draw from here. Liverpool have had 1 shot, a cracker mind you, and scored whereas Soton have had the majority of the play. Elia needs to run at Lovren constantly because he has no discernment when it comes to sticking a leg out.
No Sturridge, no Sahko in the starting lineup? Sterling as a striker again and Lovren in the back three? This is too big of a game to take such a risk. What the hell?
@Raza don't think we miss Sahko too much.every time he gets the ball he looks like he just got beamed onto the pitch and it takes him a few seconds to realize where he is.
Now we gonna see the power of Liverpool without Gerrard. Love Southampton improvement, the way they conduce the negotiations and they make a new team in 2014/15 and still an awesome team. Koeman, a good coach, will win or draw this match, but the 1x1 is more probably.
@phuchoa No we won't as Lucas(the best player we have in the DM position) is also out injured. Jackie could play there but I feel he has been superb in defence(I'm sure everyone agrees) so why mess up a good thing. So we are then left with Allen who has been struggling to make the same sort of impact as Lucas and, even, Gerrard did on the game.
well done boys, we needed this. keep going
liverpool were fortunate not to see mignolet getting sent off for ball handling but southampton lacked aa quality final ball so overall a fair result

Being a gooner I'm happy Southampton dropped points but they could have been atleast given a fair crack of the whip
Schneiderlin's poor pass and lazy backtracking led to that second goal
It was a most clear pk for sterlling there most be some money dealing with referee some police investigation needed
@wolfmother Fonte got the ball first.
@morningstar it was a reckless challenge
@morningstar getting the ball first doesn't always equate to legal tackle. Don't feel bad this fact is likely the most misunderstood rule in football

What are the odds on Kevin Friend celebrating Liverpool winning and showing the Liverpool tattoo on his hand when the game ends?

Referee's are ruining football
10x to referee...real 2-1
Bin dippers getting lucky. Shocker..
Dirty by Lovren.
How was that not a booking for Emre Can?(aka the next Yaya Toure as the scousers say)
Most clear cut penalty you'll see all season. Just wait till Sterling dives....

liverpool won't win..they played in europe this week, always costs points.
3-3
Easy game for liverpool to win
1:0
As an Arsenal fan im hoping 4 a draw my prediction: 1-1 man of the match: sadio mane
Big game in the race for the top 4. I feel Liverpool need to win this more than Southampton. Hopefully nobody's too jaded after the midweek clash.
Liverpool is in good form in recent games.....would win with small margin to Southampton.
wow, I haven't been on whoscored for awhile but its good to be back
