Borussia Dortmund
- Marco Russ and Alexander Madlung compete for a starting spot at centre-back.
- Slobodan Medojevic and Aleksandar Ignjovski are both options should manager Schaaf decide to field an additional defensive midfielder against a strong Dortmund attack.
- Takashi Inui and Lucas Piazon compete for a starting spot on the left wing.
- Mats Hummels and Sokratis are still injured, so Neven Subotic and Matthias Ginter will start at centre-back again.
- Ilkay Gündogan and Sebastian Kehl compete for a starting spot alongside Sven Bender in defensive midfield.
- Kevin Großkreutz could replace the injured Marco Reus on the left wing.
such as life, all good things come to an end. dortmund had their moment and grasped a few trophys for their efforts. hummells heart not in it now, and reus is due a large pay rise. so the prem becons them. and i think it a good idea for klop to seek a fresh challenge. maybe see how many gin n tonics he can drink for a while n wait for rogers to get sacked n go to lfc n gain some good experience. he'l b on a path similar to mourinio
i like how Dortmund are in a worse position than Arsenal and the fans haven't turned
@JoeB91 ? ? The fans are turning in a big way right now...
@JoeB91 Are you being serious? BVB are two years removed from a three year window that saw them win back to back Bundesliga titles, win a league and cup double, and reach the final of the Champions League. Wenger hasn't won shit in a decade. Oh, also, this has never happened to Klopp's Dortmund, while Wenger's side failing to make a good account for themselves in the league has been going on for years. Yeah, besides all that, the two situations are exactly the same. Also, there are Dortmund fans calling for Klopp's head.
@Art_Vandelay While I agree with your sentiment, I have to point out that Wenger has won something in the past decade (FA Cup 2014). As you note, credit where credit is due; Klopp has taken a low-spending (both in terms of net transfer spend, and wages), and outperformed these constraints. That should buy him some time. Whereas Wenger has arguably used up all his goodwill. I am looking forward to Dortmund climbing up the BuLi, as they have too much talent to conceivably remain in the relegation zone. Up Gunners!
@WengersSuccessor Thanks, I'm well aware that Arsenal won the FA Cup last year, because their supporters can't stop reminding us as if they won the Champions League. Congratulations to Wenger and his boys for having the same trophy haul in that time as Portsmouth and Wigan. The point still remains that to compare Wenger's decade of failure to Klopp's season and a quarter of disappointment is ridiculous.
Klopp should stop screwing around - put Mkhitaryan in the middle in true #10 position and play Kagawa only as a substitute to Mkhitaryan, have a solid formation not changing too much, get Kuba, Sahin and Hummels in form! Never play Ginter again until he learns to play with a team. Punish Weidenfeller and replace him for couple of games with Langerak. We demand changes in tactics - BVB loose games and keep playing the same annoying counterattacking game against defensive teams. Players defend high up and loose so much energy at the beginning of the game. And so many missed chances because the end shot is so damn bad!
@stiop Mkhitaryan shouldn`t be playing anymore, he is terrible ! He keeps doing the the mistakes, running, dribbling and than loosing the ball. Over and over again ! On top of this he is also about the worst finisher I have seen. Every game he gets excellent scoring chances but wastes them in a steady matter. Worst buy in years ...
@neumi17 Also compare to the pre-season friendlies this year where he played in central position he score in almost all the games and was very active - don't know how Klopp didn't see that..
@neumi17 I rather have somebody who tries and misses instead of somebody who doesn't try at all!
@neumi17 He hasn't been playing in his position since last season - mostly filling in for right winger because there is nobody else available and which isn't characteristic for him. He is a great provider and he has his own style of finishing (looking back at his games in Shakhter and some in BVB last season) however it's very hard to realize now because of huge positional change. Klopp is not using him right which is why he is lacking now. Instead he put Kagawa who is like a ghost in most of the games. I rather have Mkhitaryan who works very hard and runs more then anybody else in most of the games (look at the stats last season).
i am from iran.what is happened for Dortmund? My God...i am upset for Borussia!
@afra A mix of injuries and lack of team work and motivation. They are able to get into goalscoring chances but can't score. Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang cannot finish and their new signings have been terrible. Their best player Reus has been injured and Hummels, who can keep there defence together is injured.
EXCUSE ME maker of this site! I HAVE one more changes to be administered for you to www.whoscored.com!!! FOR team characteristics under the DORTMUND STRENGTHS please addition "HENRIKH MKHITARYAN" under "Stealing the Ball from Opposing". I anticipation your change, gratitude!
@Gevorg Ok Gevorg, EVERYBODY has gotten your joke by now. It`s not that funny anymore but keep embarrissing yourself if you like... :-)
@neumi17 hahah you talk about embarrassment and after, yuo misspell the word :-) please no jealousy of me, please :-)
@Gevorg Regarding “Gevorg” and his nonsense: do not pay attention to his annoying comments! He is NOT Dortmund’s, Mkhitarian’s or football fan. He is an Azeri provocateur and an instigator. He pretends to be Armenian, but in reality he most likely works for Azerbaijan’s propaganda department.
@ArsenalZ little boy, i have made to following MKHITARYAN since young youth player in PYUNIK so never ever make questions to my loyaltys. and to football, i have been following since before you come into our world, little boy. make football discussion or be quiet i come here for football debate, not political
@Gevorg "HENRIKH MKHITARYAN" Stealing the Ball from Opposing ? yeah, but they should also add he would miss that chance have been watching him closely, he is missing at least one clear cut chance per two games.
@chinna nobody in world 100% accuracy. no MESSI, no C RONALDO, and even not MKHITARYAN. shoots are missed, yes, but making shoots is also important. dortmund'd failure make attributed to return of KAGAWA .he brings failure to club of prestige like manchesterand now he bring failure to BVB
