Messi is too much for Argentina. Last night he tried to do too much tricks, most Argentine attacks last destination was Messi. But he was not effective at all. I do not see same intensity in Messi and other players, although they said so. They moves slow, the build up turns into nothing. There are too much miscommunication among players and many other point which need to solved. But as I'm seeing now Argentina is going out of copa soon and Another flop National team campaign for all Argentine Stars. They are starts for Clubs or other team not but not together.
@patricia.singh.14 not sure about that. if anything, it doesn't look like they know how to link up with him. Di Maria is a stronger force when he's the main playmaker. Strange situation.
Jamaica three straight 1-0 losses... reminds me of NZL in 2010 though they did a bit better and drew three straight instead. Jamaica had more dribbles than Argentina? Whaaaaat lol
@udar argentina played bolivia just two weeks ago and won 5-0. once they start playing more offensive teams space will open up and we'll see what happens.
golazoargentinocom/2015/06/20/messi-joins-the-100-club-argentina-v-jamaica-preview-starting-11-and-stats/
can this be trusted? Sergio Aguero will be on bench at start?
It's true Tata can't manage big names. His team is the one of the highest potential in this tournament by far and yet he can't manage to push them towards convincing victory. Not to mention blowing a comfortable lead with Paraguay. 1-0 is just poor for a team that has Aguero, Messi, Di Maria, Tevez, Pastore and others at disposal. Keeping that in mind, it's probably not a bad idea to let some of the substitute players in tonight. If the first half dissapoints, Martino could field Higuain and Lamela in the second. Maybe he is capable of motivating those players, instead of telling Messi or Aguero what to do, when they just seem not affected by him whatsoever. He won't introduce any innovative tactics, players have no time to adapt. Tata's job is to keep the morale high, copy some of the club football schemes and with all these stars in the line-up he just can't lose this tournament.
@koziol.mutant yeah it is lazy but when a small nation decide to go against the giants they usually resort to bus parking. hence the scoreline. but hoping for bigger scoreline my self.
If this argentina team fails to win copa,,i dont know wat to say...tata should be at his best not to mess with messi n co.
Its 3 am time in my country.. :)
Hope Messi doesn't get injured and Argentina wins it no matter the score. (3:0 I hope)
This coppa was crazy till now and who knows what will happen. I am still pretty sure we'll have at least one big injury shock before the end of the tournament. The way the defenses play is just awful. I know some 80s and 90s nostalgic mo*ons will say it's the way football used to be played but that couldn't be further from the truth. There is no skill here. It's pure tactical battle which includes trying to break your opponent's legs. And now haters go all over Neymar because of his reaction. He will learn to behave more maturely but what they did to him is disgrace. There are some players who never learned to act like men and they are now 30 years old. They still dive and cry and punch without any sings of chivalry. Neymar will learn so leave him alone. He carries Brazil at age of 23.
@blitz Let's leave Neymar to his own devices, this is Copa America now, and ARG would love it if Brazil were eliminated and Neymar set himself metaphorically on fire.
The refs are going to allow a rougher form of game, so be it. Masche's ready for it. If there's an injury, it'll most likely be Di Maria and Aguero who are just horrible at keeping healthy.
I'd like to see something different in the forward line from ARG. Di Maria in midfield then put three strikers up front like at Barca. Why is it so difficult for them to create.
have no clue why he was sold so cheaply as well. So tata needs to stick with ancelotti system. it is not alien for nt coaches to adopt club approaches to nt. see wat low did to germany when he adapted pep guardiola and klopp system at the world cup. so tata needs to do the same. Ancelloti could work wonders.
@LLCAN well they can use carlo ancellotti tactics for this argentina side. They capable players to do this. Both di maria or roberto perrya could play the central role that di maria did for real madrid. They have players similar(but not the calibur of xabi alonso) in both bilgia and fernado gago(who is the closest to xabi alonso but have big flaws), and you also in form banega as well to this role.
Use either combo of messi, di maria, ocampos(potential but playing regularly), lamela, lavezzi and juan iturbe(this guy owned neymar when both of their counties player against each other in u-20 world cup qualifiers). Use Higuain role similar to benzema at real madrid.
Argentine is not too shabby either central defence combo of garay, otamendi(can't believe porto rated mangala highly than him), and rojo. and with zabaletta right back they have complete team. Except they don't have decent left back. Rojo is more suited central defence than in lb. he was beast for sporting lisbon
@LLCAN
Well, it's Tata. He doesn't know how to manage favorites. He is a coach for underdogs. He doesn't know how to install flow and flare to his teams. Simple as that. No authority and no real leadership from him. It seems like Messi doesn't like him either anymore.

Argentina are too dependant on messi they are nothing without him

Those missed chances by Higuain and Tevez... and whatever Jamaica was doing, it wasn't football. btw, Miller was wayyyyy better than 6.4.
hope they meet bolivia next round and lose 3-0 :) this match was afoul
@udar argentina played bolivia just two weeks ago and won 5-0. once they start playing more offensive teams space will open up and we'll see what happens.
@udar you mean awful?
@FenderThinline69 yep autocorrect :)
Not a performance you'd expect from that kind of roster... must be a tactical failure.
last 15 minutes. I did bet on Argentina and now I am anxious.

This is increasingly becoming disappointing. Argentina should get their priorities right.
hope messi scores
otamandi and higuain are in rest.
where will the Argentina starting 11 be announced?
@AreQ Romero; Zabaleta, Demichelis, Garay, Rojo; Biglia, Mascherano, Pastore; Messi, Higuaín, Di María
