pt 2- De Gea was brilliant yet again. Realistically with the chances we had we could've won 4 or 5-1 but he made some very good saves. If he's not in a Real Madrid shirt this time next season, I'll be shocked. I was glad to see Per man-marking Fellaini at set plays. I don't know whether that was a Wenger idea or Per's himself but it was a good move whoever's it was because a player like Fellaini will exploit zonal defences all day long. Rooney played well for Utd too but there was nothing from the attacking midfield. Why van Gaal took Herrera off for Carrick I don't know but Carrick is the Emperor's new clothes of football. Passing, tackling, shooting... he can do no one of them. I can only think Ander has questioned Louis' tactics in the past or told him how overrated as a manager he is because he always seems to be the one to be taken off or dropped even though he's their best passer. We should beat whoever wins out of Reading and Bradford but it's Arsenal so....
Decent win and none of the starters played badly barring Szczesny which wasn't entirely unexpected and Bellerin had a few dodgy moments. Coquelin was very and has been since he became a regular starter. I questioned his desire to play in a defensive role when he is a box-to-box midfielder but he deserves nothing but praise. Cazorla had a quiet game by his standard but was still majestic on the ball. You can pass to him with 5 players within a metre and he'll still find a way out. Glad to see Welbeck score. He has some natural attributes which lend themselves to a top striker- pace, touch, power and the ability to hold the ball up. He needs to work on his finishing for sure but it took a while for Diego Costa to become the deadly finisher we know today. pt 1
@hasan- Ha, you never had any doubt did ya? Lol. Tbf, as soon as Giroud was fit, Danny was taken out of the central role when it's a position that you need regular time in to develop. His natural attributes are there for all to see, he needs to work on his finishing but the rest is there. I wasn't at all happy we signed him on deadline day but I'm glad we did now.
Welbeck is not the standard required at Manchester United.'
- Louis van Gaal, Sep 11, 2014.
though he did not play so well but still , words do come to bite you back .
@Jonty- The thing is, as you know, Danny hardly ever played up front for Utd and when he did it wasn't an extended spell. He was expected to come in an score every game or he's "crap" which led to him trying desperate things such as the chip against Bayern. Wenger has given him confidence and I think he's a much better long-term option than Giroud to lead the line- even though I have to say Giroud is under-rated in terms of what he does for the other attacking players in our team.
yes.. the jinx was over.. gift goal from valencia. but who care... too many dive from utd in this game luckily ref on the spot. Sczezsny should learn from de gea how to get reaction good.
@radaner yes its pretty koscielny fault that rooney not marked well. but then its should sczezsny jobs to save the shots. If the defender do all the jobs than what is the use of goal keeper? That way of thinking make goalkeeper rooted when the defender in front of him doing mistake. He lets the ball in because its not his mistake. To me the goal was avoidable if sczezsny put some effort as the shot almost centre of the goal. He can stretch his hand longer without big dive reaction. Sczezsny problem is his mentality - too individualistic. He should be a part of defense unit not on his own. One make mistake other will cover him.
Pretty similar to the game at Emirates. Home side dominating , away team playing on the counter and yet someone managing to win thanks to some crap defending and individual brilliance.
@NotBiased- Kind of but the difference between the 2 games was that it was our gameplan to sit back, soak up the pressure and play on the counter whereas Utd tried to play at the Emirates but couldn't. In chances too we created many better opportunities (in both games but particularly at the Emirates) yet were slack with the finishing such is Arsenal.
@NotBiased not so dominating.. its pretty even.. if you count the shot that can be goal then arsenal has edge than united.. comparing the game at emirates its very different where the 1st half, its like watching tornado came against united wall of defence. To be honest, the game at emirates (especially 1st half) was the best performance arsenal put in this season even though they lose that game. Ox that day was equal to alexis.
@MiguelSuave Not sure about that really. Pointless when you shoot straight tat the GK. Which was what Arsenal pretty much did that game(or you can credit De Gea for his outstanding positional sense). Imo it was the former.
also this is first time i think rooney scored from header since his hair grow again. The best season of rooney is when he is bald and scored many goals from header.
Rooney really has developed his game over the years. I never thought he'd be a good header when he broke through and remember he wasn't good at it till his mid 20s and then suddenly he started putting them in with great power and precision.
Another great header tonight.
1st half conclusion, welbeck-cannot play on middle as lone striker, sczezsny-as always his foot has magnet (why many people rate him highly i never understand).
@rdjet2008- That was an excellent effort at a reverse jinx on Welbeck and it paid off. Well done sir! As for Szczesny, I don't know a single Arsenal (or Polish for that matter) fan who rates him at all. Ospina is undoubtedly our best keeper and I would rather Martinez be our stand-in. There is 1 keeper in the world who can come out and calmly mop up play, pass the ball etc and that is Neuer. Absolutely nobody else can so they should stop trying. De Gea is a good footballer but knows his limits, ditto for any other world class keeper- Lloris, Cech et al. Szczesny is, at times, a world class shot-stopper but when he rishes out of his area like a dog chansing a burger van, my heart sinks.
man utd might not be playing well this season but honestly against the big guns in the epl, they've only lost once. that was against their city rivals. arsenal winning at theatre may be one of the dreams...man utd 3: arsenal 0
@HomaKP don't forget a football scoreline can as weird as anything...do u remember Bradford city against Chelsea? man utd has always had the edge over arsenal in the past few years... its like man utd playing against city now
Match looks like a 90 mins draw... But traditionally MAN utd has domination against this away team who with the fear of MAN utd play a lazy football tonight... It doesn't matters how many shots they gets or takes.. I see De Gea doing a lot of work for Manchester utd.. I see a red card for arsenal.. Somewhere before the box if not right inside the box... I see a first half goalless match.. I see cards shown, I see luck coming onto Manchester utd.. I see them scoring a goal at about 75-90 mins of the match. That gives them a WIN. Man utd 1-0 Arsenal.
@simbak Having won loads of league titles and a Champions League medal to his name which is more than what Arsenal have managed in their entire history. I'm not sure he'd be shattered if he doesn't end up winning the FA Cup...
this game was tricky for arsenal fans.. arsenal always struggle against this team.. not that they are better.. i remember one games when man utd have injury crisis on the attacking area, so they forced to play fabio on wing.. i predict this will the big opportunity to win against utd but wrong.. last season when moyes replaced ferguson, my prediction wrong again.. this season at emirates when i saw the first half of the game, its like you saw tornado come to man utd defends wall where ox plays like sanchez but the end of the game i was wrong again.. its like we have jinx against utd, hope this night where we broke the jinx.. if not, the i wronged again..
@rdjet2008
what? you write nonsense i dont understand what you write...
First of all Arsenal played with Manchester United last year and the match result was that Arsenal lose so i dont understand why u write such things what you have on mind while writting this...
I predict draw or Arsenal wins or probably Manchester can win
I think you predict very bad because Arsenal lose to Monaco 4;2 so i think today Manchastar United will win very fast and very quick (after 40 minutes) so you can for sure bet on Arsenal today and Manu win
Being an Arsenal fan I'm feeling so bipolar about this match deep down I can't see anything but a Utd win hell it's been 9 years since we last won at Old Trafford. Praying we just hope we show up for once.
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says a top four Premier League place is more important than winning the FA Cup.
Wenger admits that
"For years it was always the game of the season that decided the Premier League, at this moment it is not the case, but it is still a big game," he said
MU will lose this match for sure, Arsenal take the lead to the next stage.
Ramsey is never gonna play on the right wing... switch Cazorla and Ramsey and it makes more sense. Hope you'll be right about the prediction :) C O Y G !!!
it has been a while since we last defeated MU... now it should be our time, with no key injuries (maybe Debuchy, but Bellerin is very solid)
I dont know if Coqulein-Cazorla is the right solution as DMCs, I would like to see 4-2-3-1
Szcseszny-Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal-Ramsey, Coqulein- Walcott, Özil, Sanchez- Giroud
also, I dont know why Walcott is given so few playing time... we are more dangerous when he is on pace on the right, despite he cant finish his chances
Hopefully this is the game which serves as the catalyst for a Utd losing streak. They've gotten away with it in most games so far this season, particularly the one at the Emirates which we completely dominated. We haven't been great at keeping the ball in the last 10 or so games which is a worry since our gameplan is built around dominating possession so in lieu of a typical Arsenal attacking performance, hopefully we start off the game like we did against Man City/Spurs but then look to assert authority if/when we score. Per and Laurent should expect plenty of long balls played up to Fellaini, hopefully the defence as a whole deals with that tactic better than we have in the past. I doubt Ramsey will start (and hope he doesn't given Cazorla's performances playing next to Coquelin) and I hope Martinez is given the nod ahead of Szczesny. I'd like Walcott to though to test Rojo's patience. I like Rojo but he can be wound up. I'm gonna predict 2-1 to the Arsenal with Oezil MotM.
I want The Arsenal to win this game so bad which means we'll lose by a typically dodgy referee's decision in Man United's favour. How was that not a penalty in their last match vs Newcastle?!
pt 2- De Gea was brilliant yet again. Realistically with the chances we had we could've won 4 or 5-1 but he made some very good saves. Who's back.. Welback ! Who's back.. ...Welback ! Who's back......Weelback !

If Gea wasn't in ScuMU, they wont be even in the top10 bpl. congratulations for Arsenal!
Arsenal are an absolute delight to watch sometimes. With the way they pass the ball in tight situations is admirable.
@NotBiased- Cazorla especially.
MU play ugly football!! go to hell!!
HAHAHAHAHAHA UNITED! Oh gosh... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LONG BALLS CAN'T SAVE YOU NOW!
Glory for Gunners.................Yessssssssssssssssssssssss
yes.. the jinx was over.. gift goal from valencia. but who care... too many dive from utd in this game luckily ref on the spot. Sczezsny should learn from de gea how to get reaction good.
@rdjet2008 Rooney wasn't marked well and it was a header from 2 meters, de gea saved cazorla's shoot which was from ~10 meters and it was weak.
@radaner yes its pretty koscielny fault that rooney not marked well. but then its should sczezsny jobs to save the shots. If the defender do all the jobs than what is the use of goal keeper? @NotBiased one little difference.. back at the emirates the shots were like 20-2 in favor for Arsenal.. today was 10-11 soooooooooo
@MiguelSuave Not sure about that really. Pointless when you shoot straight tat the GK. Which was what Arsenal pretty much did that game(or you can credit De Gea for his outstanding positional sense). Imo it was the former.
@NotBiased They still created a lot more chances than ManU at the Emirates
Watch for Longball Van Gaal to resort to anti-football tactics from 1902 in desperation.
@mbengue what else do you expect from a team chasing a goal and down to ten men to do?
@NotBiased to not resort to anti-football tactics from the progenitor of the long-ball game: Longball van Gaal.
WHO ARE YA? WHO ARE YA! WHO ARE YA?
Goodbye, Mr Long-Ball United!
May someone plz explain what di Maria did?
@Mr.Parker Apparently he tugged on the referee's shirt after the first booking.
@Ala he dived for the first yellow and pushed the referee for the second
lol someone tell me what di maria did, im not watching the game
@Lucasfernandes Grabbed ref's shirt to contest a diving call. Cannot be.
@Lucasfernandes Dived, then pushed the ref.. i saw the dive, didn't see the push
@Lucasfernandes talksport said that he dived, then tugged the ref's shirt
@Mr.Parker *skysports*
Gooooooooonerssssssssssssssssssssss Goooooooooaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllll

How convenient for Van Gaal that Fellaini's forehead is so massive...
its 12 vs 10 I say. By god welback !!
dimaria, u wretched crap :DDD
sczezsny, should do better on the equalizer..
Glory, glory long-ball United!
Patheic Boring Match

Arsenal 2-0 Manchester Believe me.
Time to kick some Manc behind. They've been playing like Man.Ure, so let's show them just how sh1te they really are. COYG! FOYM!

Man united to win 2-1 and there will be a hooligan war.

@double I see you getting a lot of dislikes if none of what you see happens.
United should win if Failcow stays away from the pitch
@Terry yesh the failcow hahaha man-useless tonight the gunners make hell for roony dreams of an FA cup trophy
@simbak Having won loads of league titles and a Champions League medal to his name which is more than what Arsenal have managed in their entire history. I'm not sure he'd be shattered if he doesn't end up winning the FA Cup...
@Terry and now he's Failcow ? shame on you !!
Draw would be very nice COYS
Am being honest I hope we get a draw here, united are favorites ..COYG

Going
I want The Arsenal to win this game so bad which means we'll lose by a typically dodgy referee's decision in Man United's favour. How was that not a penalty in their last match vs Newcastle?!
@Overmars Going for 2-0 to Man United with Rooney scoring one and Herrera the other.
Man Utd - Arsenal 2-0 (Falcao, Rooney)
@bogdan0904 who Falcao? He finish.
