Sesko rejects Arsenal, Olise set for Chelsea: Tuesday's top transfer rumours

Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their race to sign a number one striker target, while Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. Here, we run through Tuesday's top transfer rumours.

Arsenal dealt blow in striker pursuit

Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their push to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Slovenia international, who is expected to lead the line for his nation at Euro 2024.

Sesko, who scored 14 league goals for RB Leipzig last season, had been linked with a move away from the German side.

However, the 21-year-old has decided to stay with the German side and sign a new contract on improved terms, removing the reported £55m release clause in the process.

Chelsea agree personal terms with Crystal Palace star

Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, reports Givemesport.

Olise was heavily linked with a move to the Blues last summer but opted to instead put pen to paper on a new deal at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea, though, are expected to land the Frenchman in the off-season, beating Manchester United to his services.

The west London side are now set to discuss a payment structure with Palace to meet the 22-year-old's release clause.

Man Utd and Tottenham to battle for Eze

Manchester United and Tottenham are set to go head-to-head in the race to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, reports Football Insider.

Eze's WhoScored rating of 7.45 was enough to make the Premier League team of the season, while his Palace form saw him secure a spot in England's Euro 2024 squad.

And interest in the 25-year-old is high with Palace braced for offers for Eze after the Euros.

Newcastle pull out of race to sign young goalkeeper

Newcastle will not be pursuing a move for Valencia shotstopper Giorgi Mamardashvili this summer, reports Spanish publication Relevo

The Magpies have been linked with a new goalkeeper in the off-season, with Burnley's James Trafford among those on the club's radar.

Mamardashvili, who is expected to start for Georgia at Euro 2024, is valued at €35m with Newcastle unwilling to offer above €30m.

Bayern interested in signing Chelsea defender

Bayern Munich have shown an interest in signing Chelsea defender Levi Colwill this summer, reports Sky Germany.

Colwill returned to the Blues last year following a successful loan spell with Brighton but his season was ended early owing to injury sustained in March.

The Blues may look to cash in on a homegrown talent as they look to balance the books, with Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah among those up for sale.

Man Utd unlikely to appointment former Spurs and Chelsea boss

Manchester United are unlikely to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as Erik ten Hag's successor, reports the Times.

Pochettino is out of work following his surprise dismissal by Chelsea last month and he's been linked with a move to United should they sack Ten Hag.

Despite leading United to the FA Cup, the Dutchman's under pressure at Old Trafford, with Gareth Southgate another target for the club.

Atletico to return for Tottenham midfielder

Atletico Madrid are set to rekindle their interest in midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer, reports the Mail.

The La Liga side had hoped to sign the Dane last year but a £15m switch fell through as Spurs failed to find a replacement.

However, Hojbjerg is set to leave for pastures new after the Euros, with Atletico expected to return for the 28-year-old.

Crystal Palace close in on Japanese midfielder

Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of Daichi Kamada on a free transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Kamada spent last season at Lazio but has opted against extending his stay in the Italian capital in favour of a Premier League switch.

The 27-year-old worked under Palace boss Oliver Glasner during their time together at Eintracht Frankfurt as the Eagles brace themselves for the departure of Michael Olise.

Man Utd handed boost in midfielder pursuit

Manchester United have been handed a boost in their push to sign Joao Neves this summer, reports Portuguese publication Record.

Neves has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford with the club expected to firm up their interest in the Benfica star after Euro 2024.

And United will have been buoyed by the 19-year-old's decision not to extend his contract with the Portuguese powerhouse.
