Oh and a textbook volley by Flamini for his 2nd. Watch the ball all the way onto the foot and put your laces through it in the direction you want it to go. Lewandowski should take some tips! Ha
This was a pretty poor quality game if truth be told. It's not often an Arsenal team has a pass completion percentage in the 70s. We also lost the ball on numerous occasions. It didn't really work with Ramsey playing in a floating 10 position, Debuchy had a poor game, Campbell looked like a fan who got to play a training session with the team and Giroud's touch was very poor. However, all that matters is we won. It was sad to see some Arsenal fans tearing down banners, the club will have to pay for the damage and will even get an extra fine. The derby seems to attract a particular class of moron on both sides unfortunately.
@SteveHyland Truth be told, the low pass success was because of cohesion, this team doesn't play that often together. I personally believe ramsey created a lot of chances for giroud but the problem was finish.
@What4- I thought it was an error in the team listing too (Ramsey's name was after Chamberlain's and before Campbell's in the vertical listing) but he did play pretty advanced (for him) in the first half- and didn't play particularly well, it has to be said. I tend to think he is better when he is watching the play. As a 10, some of the time you need to have his back towards the opposition goal and a few times he made blind passes which went to a Spurs player.
Pfft, 0-2 to The Arsenal. Son can't save the Spuds on his own in every game. Meanwhile Kane continues his downward spiral which started when he left the best club in London.
Really difficult to predict this before the teams are announced. I expect the team to be primarily first team fringe players with a few youngsters something like (4-3-3): OSPINA, DEBUCHY, CHAMBERS, MERTESACKER, GIBBS, FLAMINI, ARTETA, KAMARA, CHAMBERLAIN, CAMPBELL, IWOBI. It's a shame Jeff Reine-Adelaide is injured or he would've started. I'll be happy if that's the team we put out though, Campbell really needs to play or it's pointless having him in the squad.
@SteveHyland I agree about Campbell, if he doesn't play in the Tin Pot Cup against the Spuds then there really was no point keeping him. Agree with your back 5 and Arteta, don't know about the rest.
@What4- BFG will probably miss out, he still isn't fit enough apparently, so we'll likely go with Chambers and Gabriel so Per and Koscielny can resume their partnership in the prem. I'd rather Bielek play ahead of Flamini but Wenger has said he "probably" wont play in the first team this season and I simply don't want Ramsey or Oezil to be risked so Flamini is in by default. I'd also rather Chamberlain start at RW for a succession of games in the prem and CL given he has pace AND end product but Wenger likes putting Ramsey over there even though Aaron only ever plays well when he's in a central role so I fully expect he'll start this game, especially against Danny "Living off 1 goal against Arsenal yonks ago" Rose.
@Overmars- It's only because I hope we don't play our, available, regular midfielders in this game- Oezil and Ramsey. I think Arteta after a terrible showing against Zagreb will bounce back, Flamini, well... hopefully as part of a defensive midfield 3 will be ok, Kamara and Iwobi are more in hope. I want us to start at least a couple of youngsters, that's what Wenger did so well in this cup in the past. Sanchez looks completely shot, not surprising given he's played non-stop since the world cup last year. 2 or 3 weeks' rest doesn't work for a player who gives as much as Alexis so I really hope he isn't even on the bench.
I think Spurs will win this one too. It will be more than 1 goal, possibly 2 or 3-0. The Spurs 2nd string are younger and more mobile than Arsenal's. Arteta and Flamini couldn't tackle a toddler.

Özil well deserved benched !
I think Luke McGee has earned his right to play ahead of vorm. Weak shot by Chamberlain parried right back into play
Flamini is the next Henry!
Flamini is the GOAT
spurs 3-2
Now I know the line-up, I'll go 3-1 Arsenal with Chamberlain MotM.
OFFICIAL (4-2-3-1): Ospina, Debuchy, Chambers, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Arteta, Flamini, Chamberlain, Ramsey, Campbell, Giroud.
@SteveHyland Looks like a 4-3-3, can't see Ramsey as a no.10?

@SteveHyland- BENCH: Macey, Bellerin, Monreal, Oezil, Alexis, Iwobi, Walcott.

@SteveHyland The dreaded Flamteta combo is terrible. Don't think Kamara or Iwobi will start. Iwobi might come off the bench and Campbell surely will.
@Overmars they sure showed you today!

Is the time for North London to stop being red? Are Spurs on the rise and Arsenal on the decline? I think it is 2-1 to Spurs. It is time. COYS

@Overmars Giroud will start. Mostly second stringers will play I think. Would love to get a win and a debut for Alex Iwobi (probably as a sub).
