Poland
- Mats Hummels has overcome a calf strain and will replace Shkodran Mustafi at the heart of the defence to face Poland.
- That could be Jogi Low's only change for the meeting with rivals Poland, with Mario Gotze handed another chance in attack.
- That would see Mario Gomez forced to settle for a place on the bench, though the Besiktas forward is pushing for a starting spot.
- Wojciech Szczesny sustained a thigh problem in the 1-0 win over Northern Ireland, which rules him out of the meeting with Germany, with Lukasz Fabianski set to deputise between the sticks.
- Poland could be unchanged from Sunday's victory, which would see youngster Bartosz Kaputska keep his place on the left.
@Drifter wth. 7.6 for boateng and 7.2 for hummels in case you were not watching the only reason Milik had 2 golden chances that missed was becoz boateng was beaten to cross by both Grosicki and Kuba. The only reason I'm not bashing this idiot more was becoz of the last minute tackle he made on lewandowski. Boateng has all the attributes of world class defender pace, passing and highlight reel tackle like he did with Lewandwoski in second half. But he is effing retard. If Milik was not so much stupid he would have scored two goals coz Boateng does not have brains to stop crosses. This is where the basic difference between overrated defender like Boateng vs one of the world finest Godin comes in they are exact anti-thesis of each other. Search any youtube channel you would be impressed by Godin world coz he is not flashy like Boateng and but damn he bring stability and lack of blood pressure to fans plus he has brain unlike boateng. Dang it. I really miss Holger Badstubber now.
Germany are boring now. I criticised the false 9 after their last game and yet again it has failed. I'm not sure how long Jogi wants to persist with tactics that simply aren't working. Their midfield is fantastic but yet again, Oezil got the ball to feet (in space) in the exact areas you want him to be populating and he had to pass it sideways or backwards rather than attempting to find the striker knowing far well if it goes into Goetze, he will do nothing with it and pass back into midfield or out wide. You can't teach goalscoring instincts. Gomez has them, Goetze doesn't. Germany should've actually lost this game. Milik was terrible in everything he did and Lewandowski was also poor (although if presented with the 2 good chances Milik had, 1 would've gone in). It doesn't work playing 2 up top. Lewa needs to be the man on the end of chances. Milik's goalscoring record is inflated by the fact he plays in the Dutch league. Both will probably go through but Poland should already be.
@SteveHyland wow could not agree more. Milik by the way is too retarded to score goals. He had two golden opportunity to put poland ahead. The way i see it Poland could have atleast scored 3 goals.
@SteveHyland Perfect analysis. Literally perfect. Gotze is trash in this position ,absolute and utter trash. How Poland didn't score one of their chances is beyond me. Germany need to play a proper centre forward. Having Gotze leading the line is absolutely laughable.
@SteveHyland I agree with everything, but not with an opinion on RL9. Rob has slightly different job in national team. He makes space for Milik and fight with defenders. I guess he could play better today, but he did make some fast counter-attacks and helped the team. It was mediocre IMO.
@SteveHyland I do agree with almost everything but I don't share the same opinion that RL9 was poor. He's made some space for others, brought in some great fight against Hummels and Boateng. He's searched for the counters, which weren't on top today (mostly due to Błaszczykowski's approach, cause Grosicki had two great passes). Lewy brought some speed in those attacks but was alone there...and when Milik got those occassions...yeah, let's leave it, cause it was a terrible day for him. Oh well, I still think that the final result is fair, yet whoscored rated polish defense too low.
Those ratings are somewhat biased and not professional. You're not appreciating the work of some players like Mączyński or Lewandowski whose roles are different. Polish defense played incredibly well, so the rating is too low. My rating looks like this: Germany: Neuer-6.5 Hector-6.8 Hummels-7.2 Boateng-7.6 Höwedes-6.6 Kroos-7.3 Khedira-7.2 Draxler-6.6 Özil-6.7 Müller-6.9 (everyone had bigger expectations towards him) Götze-6.4 Subs: Schürrle-6.8 Gomez-5.8 (he wasn't seen on the pitch) Poland: Fabiański-7.7 (one great parade, good positioning) Piszczek-8.3 Glik-7.2 Pazdan-8.1 Jędrzejczyk-7.0 Błaszczykowski-7.1 Krychowiak-8.2 Mączyński-7.0 Grosicki-7.2 Milik-5.0 (two great situations, a couple bad passes in important situations, worst player on the pitch) Lewandowski-6.9 (he did help in defense, sped up some counter-attacks, fought with defenders) Subs: Peszko-5.5 (yellow card and nothing else) Jodłowiec-6.4 (some good headers won) Kapustka-6.2
@Drifter The ratings are purely stats based. Read about the rating system. This isn't subjective at all. You are wrong and writing nonsense in essence.
@Tactical So what kind of professional rating is it, when the COM doesn't include commitment and the work without the ball, huh? This is nonesense indeed! :) The old saying claims: "There's a lie, bigger lie and there are statistics".
36 games in group stage just to eliminate 8 teams. With only two team from each group qualifying to knock out stages we will never be forced to watch bring game.
What an incredibly boring game.
Lewandowski the worst. Very funny!
Both teams seemed to be happy with a draw or at least did very little to win. Such a shame, this match had some potential in it.
@Castle- I think they settled on the draw late on, but not beforehand. Germany were just rubbish at creating good chances because the midfield area was cluttered and Poland were rubbish at finishing theirs because Milik was on the end of them instead of Lewa. I don't rate Loew as a tactician. By that I mean he is unable to change to suit the situation; opposition or if his plan A isn't working (similar to Wenger and Guardiola). When it goes right, it looks fantastic, better than everybody else in international football, but when it doesn't......... he sticks with it til it's too late.
surprised positively by Pazdan, 100% concentrated today
draw here, 2-2. Ukraine-Northern Ireland match showed that these teams here are equal and Ukraine can't score against anyone. Poland surely will have chances here as Ukraina had.
@koziol.mutant still draw :)
@koziol.mutant Not so far...
Wow i think it can end up 3-1 or 2-0
@Nature You were wrong.
2-0 Poland
3-1 BTS
@dynek bts easy
0-1 or 1-2 I hope :-)
3 - 2
Germany 2_0 they are likely to beef up their defence after their last game as nuer was like the only defence they had and bastian is back
@felix254 What a flop.
Both teams have weak defense and good attack, so i think BTS is a good choice.
@todi Poland has shown some best defense performance on this tournament.
Hummels misses out for Germany ? No, he is most likely to play.....!
Fabianski to first eleven instead of szczesny, grosiki for blaszczykowski. Under 2.5 goals in the match, tight game, 1-0 maybe
2-1
3 - 1 Germany Win
