@CirdomAkul They have players who are fast but not very good in dribbling, yes. But most of all they need a skillful playmaking type of player. Real has strikers and central midmielders but no offensiv midfielders, no number 10.
Marcelo is never a reliable option in big games as he is awful in defense. He starts as a left back and he doesn't fulfill his duties as he is too busy playing in LW position.
@mourasaint Opta provides Whoscored with the stats. They don't do the stats themselves. They just show the information to us. Opta provides the stats, formations and everything. Opta kept sending Whoscored the wrong formation (4 at the back instead of 3) for Saints a few games ago and I made a big deal of it . Whoscored contacted Opta and since then Whoscored's match centre has reflected that Saints have been using a back three often.
Salah had many awful touches that ruined a high percentage of Roma's attacks, some of them pretty good chances too. So I don't think the result was a fair reflection of the game. Until Dzeko came on, most of Roma's attacks were through Salah, it's a pity he was rubbish tonight, and Roma looked better when Dzeko came on, can someone tell me why he didn't start?
Good intensive first half but neither team get to the scoring positions. Real have to change very little, maybe try to add some speed to their passing. Roma will be happy if they won't concede an away goal so they'll stick to their counter attacks, although they look most dangerous when keeping the ball for a moment. Dzeko might come in for last 15 mins to shake things up a bit.
Given that R.Madrid struggles on away homes against defensive sides i could foresee a 0-1 win if Roma defends as a prime strategy. If both play defensively,which is typical for first leg matches in CHL a 0-0 draw seems possible for me. If they go all out both as Roma seems to do in some situations but I would be very surprised to see it here everything is possible and the game will be high scoring. Given the circumstances I think both will play defensively and 0-0 seems likely but given their quality up front, they can both grab a late game winner 1-0,0-1,0-0 for me.
@Akhthar Well my underlying point was that this match is especially unpredictable but the number of goals that will be scored is not from a betting point of view.
@McKonidas Since when has Roma been a defensive side this season? They are incredibly porous this season, giving up as many goals as AC Milan and Atalanta. Slapping a "Serie A" label on a club doesn't make them a defensive side.
@swag You do not have to be a defensive side in order to defend when needed. And this is a great opportunity to play counter-attacking football. Is not the same match vs lets say Palermo away and this one. Different tactics and a good coach like Spaletti are making this happen. Also indecisiveness from R.Madrid helps keep that game a close one. Hint: See Roma's matches this year against competitive sides like Napoli and Juventus.
Nainngolan-Pjanic partnership doesn't sound good against Madrid so Keita or Vainqueur should start if De Rossi can't play. Pjanic could play at more free role and Perotti on the left if Florenzi starts as right back. Shaarawy and Falque are better as subs for this match. Also Real should play Casemiro to protect them from Roma's (counter) attacks, he is a player who truly wants to win the ball. Hard to predict but let's go with 1-2 for Madrid.
can anyone really confidently say madrid will win?, they STRUGGLED against granada. Their team is simply full of attacking superstars ,outside of that they have no composure or tactics..i wouldnt even be surprised if Roma win here.
@widmotion As i said, with gk like navas roma will score at least once.I wish that Real buy a GK like Courtois, Trapp, Bravo or Ter Stegen and not spending milions on useless players like kovacic or casilla.
Real Madrid definitely to score here. However, Roma can also be dangerous in attack and they are at home here. If they score here they could get a 1-1 draw or maybe 2-1 win. However, if Real Madrid score first it could be a very embarrassing scoreline for Roma.
@John_Wick
Yes he is Good , if he played well in this match he will make it difficult to real
Sure he does not have the same performance yet like real Madrid stars but he is one of the best key players in roma
@DonKing Im with you, dont know why but with BBC in the front 3 they can always do that extra bit of damage (especially with an in-form bale like in his last couple of games).
I am looking at the last results between these two and I can't belive. Real won agianst Roma last time in 2004. since then ... Roma won 4 in a row. Hard game to predict. I must agree with @Peter_Griffin : italian defence might put some problems here.
Real Madrid will progress because Roma is a very sterile team. They are not used to playing strong teams with a lot of pace and purpose like Real Madrid. They might bore Real Madrid to draw at their home ground, but at Bernabeu Madrid will of course demolish them 4:0 or so. I am Barca fan so I'd prefer to see Roma go through, but there's absolutely no chance for that. Literally 0%
Real Madrid's players in defense are among the very best in the world and yet they look very shaky at the back. This is mainly due to the fact that they don't defend as a team and this would eventually cost them in important matches.
@asinko Uhhh if ur talking about Barcelona then no it was 6-1 and the first game they played was 1-1. In the 6-1 game Roma was missing all of their best players (De Rossi, Salah, Totti, Gervinho etc.)
@Calcio_Guy@Calcio_Guy Come on man. Barcelona was in the worst shape at that time too. If they played again, it would be the same at least. And what could Totti and Salah do please?
AC Milan is sort of indicator of Seria A strength.
Thats La Liga!
Real Madrid needs a player who is very fast and very good in dribbling.
@CirdomAkul They have players who are fast but not very good in dribbling, yes. But most of all they need a skillful playmaking type of player. Real has strikers and central midmielders but no offensiv midfielders, no number 10.
@CirdomAkul Bale
@John_Wick Bale has been really good this season but we need a player who could break tight defenses. Bale is not good enough for small spaces.
@John_Wick He said GOOD in dribbling not ok ...
Marcelo is never a reliable option in big games as he is awful in defense. He starts as a left back and he doesn't fulfill his duties as he is too busy playing in LW position.
@CirdomAkul Ricardo rodriguez?
Told u guys, i put money on this for Real to win and Ronaldo to pad stats, listen to excellent punditry
Cristiano scoring some high quality goals nowadays.....
@MSNism He has found the element of dribbling again in his game. Was long time hidden...
Salah is not super player they musnt depend on him only he also needs a back like maicon to play with
The power of la liga strikes again
Benzema had far more unsuccessful touches than this. Whoscored, you're liable to get sued for fraud one of these days. I'm seriously considering it.
@mourasaint Opta provides Whoscored with the stats. They don't do the stats themselves. They just show the information to us. Opta provides the stats, formations and everything. @mourasaint HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA get a life
Salah had many awful touches that ruined a high percentage of Roma's attacks, some of them pretty good chances too. So I don't think the result was a fair reflection of the game. Until Dzeko came on, most of Roma's attacks were through Salah, it's a pity he was rubbish tonight, and Roma looked better when Dzeko came on, can someone tell me why he didn't start?
@What4 Salah was the main threat. If it wasn't for him, Roma couldn't have made any real dangerous threat.
The result is not real indicator ..... Roma played well They could have make better result
@Mohamed_Shaker thats what they all say against real madrid
@Mohamed_Shaker But Real will advance after this(along with WV).
Penalty for sure
that should have been a penalty to Roma
Sergio Ramos has had such a fantastic season. Been slightly disappointed with Varane however this season.
@FootballTruth Sergio Ramos has been very inconsistent this season.
Good intensive first half but neither team get to the scoring positions. Real have to change very little, maybe try to add some speed to their passing. Roma's bench is superior to Real Madrid's
@QuantumDuck you must be serious
@QuantumDuck Maybe even superior to Romas starting 11 xD
@Fromhell Yeah that too lol, Spalletti is just as horrible as the other ones at picking players ...
Forgot to say 'Daje Roma'!
Given that R.Madrid struggles on away homes against defensive sides i could foresee a 0-1 win if Roma defends as a prime strategy. @McKonidas Yes, Football is unpredictable. Either team can win or draw or even lose. :-)
@Akhthar Well my underlying point was that this match is especially unpredictable but the number of goals that will be scored is not from a betting point of view.
@McKonidas Yes, Football is predictable. Either team can win or draw or even lose. :-)

I hope RM destroy this weak park the bus side
so in prediction on Champions League smart money is both to score and Real wi and here differently.
under 2.5
easy win for madrid.. roma always park the bus in cl, they doesnt deserve cl. also in serie a they suck.
Forza Roma 2-1
Close match and 3-2 to Real Madrid. Don't forget Roma is not a bad team too.
24 days
Draw
2-1 To roma, 1 penalty for christina.
0:5! Roma do not deserve to be in the competition having qualified with only one win!
Nainngolan-Pjanic partnership doesn't sound good against Madrid so Keita or Vainqueur should start if De Rossi can't play. Pjanic could play at more free role and Perotti on the left if Florenzi starts as right back. Shaarawy and Falque are better as subs for this match. ................................. .......1.........4............ ................................
Real wins. scores 4 goals...........................................
when comes to eliminations Real M sooo many years is fail to pass any Italian team ;) so i predict Roma wins the tie.
3-2 to roma or 2-2 no matter what this game going to have more than 3 goals!
Or may be 0-5 , ronaldo on his day can score
@Lapulga roma is not a strong team
2-2 score
Madrid win. Ronaldo to score. But it will not be easy.
@TacticalMastermind2.0 I'd go for 1-1 :p
@Exti solicitous
Real Madrid to win 7-1. I forsee an hat trick for CR7
can anyone really confidently say madrid will win?, they STRUGGLED against granada. Their team is simply full of attacking superstars ,outside of that they have no composure or tactics..i wouldnt even be surprised if Roma win here.
@spursman You are understimating the referees.
1-3
I am looking it will Ro-2-0-Re.
even carpi can almost win from roma
real will splash sub club roma! a team with only loaned players.
With a Gk like Navas Roma will score at least once in our net...
@alexandrion91 It's not nice to drink early in the morning on a Wednesday
Roma have good wingers but not comparable to Real Madrid, i'd love to see James scoring from out of the box.
@Mahdi Maybe he will mate, maybe he will...
Another useless away match for real. 1-1
Roma will rely too much on the counter-attack, but Madrid defense is FAST...so this could backfire.
@widmotion As i said, with gk like navas roma will score at least once.I wish that Real buy a GK like Courtois, Trapp, Bravo or Ter Stegen and not spending milions on useless players like kovacic or casilla.

I am italian teams fan in CL and UL always so I like Roma win in this match
In italy, do what the romans do.
Salah? Is he really playing that good?
@John_Wick Yes he is Good , if he played well in this match he will make it difficult to real Sure he does not have the same performance yet like real Madrid stars but he is one of the best key players in roma
@Mohamed_Shaker I'm hyped.
Roma has conceded 16 goals in group stages. Higher than any club ever has in CL groups.
Roma cant win this, see the serie A fans lining up for them.
Only threat to chances of us retaining the UCL is Real Madrid and Bayern
@asinko You should worry about Arsenal first. The only way to win CL is to concentrate at one opponent at time.
isco !
@asinko He will start.
Real Madrid 1-0 here. Italians at home are hard to beat with ease and Real is missing G.Bale firepower.
@DonKing Im with you, dont know why but with BBC in the front 3 they can always do that extra bit of damage (especially with an in-form bale like in his last couple of games).
Another 7-1? #romaineurope
@Bartorex true
@Bartorex so true
I am looking at the last results between these two and I can't belive. Real won agianst Roma last time in 2004. since then ... Roma won 4 in a row. Hard game to predict. I must agree with @Peter_Griffin : italian defence might put some problems here.
@Claudiumars M also kind of surprised too..its hard nut to crack. Real ll progress though
Roma - Real 0:3 or 1:4
@EragonR I concur.

@blitz Leverkusen more of a threat
Real Madrid's players in defense are among the very best in the world and yet they look very shaky at the back. This is mainly due to the fact that they don't defend as a team and this would eventually cost them in important matches.
@CirdomAkul Varane is shaky lately. They need time to gel and cant do so coz of constant injuries.
Real Madrid to win comfortable
Roma is surely a tough team. Dint we hammer them 6-0?
@asinko Uhhh if ur talking about Barcelona then no it was 6-1 and the first game they played was 1-1. In the 6-1 game Roma was missing all of their best players (De Rossi, Salah, Totti, Gervinho etc.)
@Calcio_Guy lol, roma cant even win nearly from carpi
@Calcio_Guy Missing some players is also a part of the game eh..lol
@Calcio_Guy @Calcio_Guy Come on man. Barcelona was in the worst shape at that time too. If they played again, it would be the same at least. And what could Totti and Salah do please?
@blitz Gabo
@Calcio_Guy But still 6-1 is overpowering win.
@asinko stick in italy
1-1
Italian Defence seems to trouble us. Draw for the 1st leg and a win at the Bernebeu
@Peter_Griffin barca won 6-0 haha
@asinko barca drawed in the first game and won in the second
@goooooooal55 bad bud good.
FACT: Roma has always scored when they have got smashed recently
@ksaviauk 6-0.
Hala Madrid. Vivimos por ti vence por nosotros
@kummerspeck Visca Barca!
So much wait
