  • Thank God I set this game to record on my DVR!

  • @sarigginsUSA with knowing the result? booooooring!

  • AC Milan you will never walk alone

  • Excellent team spirit and desire shown from Liverpool, especially when 3-1 down. I thought it'd be a hammering when it was 0-2 after 10 minutes but they were the better team from that point on and have shown to be the better team over the 2 legs. 28 chances created is 5 more than Bayern created in their 2 Bundesliga games against Dortmund this season. Not bad going. Milner is playing like a demon atm- regaining possession, retaining possession, cutting out space for opposition to find/run into, making his passes count and creating chances- 7 of them tonight. I've never seen him play this consistently well over this number of weeks in his career. Klopp is certainly having an influence on him. Hopefully Liverpool win it from here, at the very least they'll be difficult to keep a clean sheet against.

  • @SteveHyland Personally, I've always thought Milner is better than he's generally given credit for, just because he's not elegant, maybe a bit boring in interviews, and yes English too, that means he's been under-rated. When Klopp arrived, he did say Milner was a 'complete' player.

  • @SteveHyland Quote Klopp after the Match: " I most areas of the game Dortmund is the better team with the better players. But in those games you need passion. And passion won over individual class today " That's about sums it up...

  • @neumi17 Could just be modesty?

  • @neumi17- Better technicians I agree but what the continental football fans don't seem to realise is that passion, hunger, the will to win or whatever you want to call it is as much a legitimate sporting skill as any technical one. Actually it can be argued passion is more important (and more decisive) because that cannot be taught and you'd be surprised at just how often hunger trumps technical skill. It seems an alien concept for some, but I would take a hungry XI over a more technically gifted XI sans-passion. Non-Brits seem shocked Atletico Madrid beat Barcelona, Man City beat PSG and Liverpool beat Dortmund but I'm not. A superiorly gifted team WITH hunger = Bayern, Barcelona at their best- pretty much unbeatable unless they face the other team, however one without is lacking in a fundamental trait which is actually applicable to all occupations.

  • @SteveHyland Again, 28 shots on goal doesn't mean 28 chances created...

  • @neumi17- No, but 28 chances created = 28 chances created which is what I quoted, not shots on goal.

  • @SteveHyland Where did you find that number ? Thx

  • @SteveHyland Sorry Steve, I gave you a thumbs down there by accident as I am a bit drunk. Don't ask how long it took me to write those, there seems to be two of each letter on the thing. What a game. This is why I love this club so much. Sometime it's worth suffering through the mediocrity(mediocrity, what a word! I can spell it, bbubutbut hope would I pronounce it in the state I'm in at the moment). Anyway, night's like this make it all worth while. YNWA

  • @mikers135- Ha, it's ok. Klopp has at least made it exciting at Anfield now. I got the feeling the overriding emotion during Rodgers' reign was one of boredom save for a few moments (the hammering of my team for one :-( ). Given his all-or-nothing approach, Klopp's Liverpool will in all likelihood lose some games in dramatic and farcical fashion but the flip-side is you can win these ones. Only Bayern have scored 4 or more against Dortmund in the league or Europa cup this season. Not bad company to be in.

  • WHAT A GOALFEST!

  • Where's Neumi telling everyone that the Bundesliga owns Premier League? LOL

  • @richccfc he is just a loser dont mind him

  • @richccfc Neumi is right if he said that. A match or two doesn't show nothing about superiority...Dortmund is clearly stronger than Liverpool but Liverpool played very well. Also is all about form.

  • @hellreaper Form?? U know what was Dortmund's form before this game? Thet were unbeated in last 20+ games

  • @hellreaper- I wouldn't say "clearly", although over 38 games I'd expect Dortmund to finish higher than Liverpool. Bayern are the only Bundesliga team 'categorically' better than the best 4 or 5 in the prem and having a better no.1 doesn't equate to a better league.

  • @hellreaper It was a tie over two legs. Liverpool won on aggregate. How does that make Dortmund clearly stronger? Head to head Liverpool have proven to be better.

  • @TacticalMastermind2.0 Difficult to say, in the first game Dortmund wasn't really there but in Liverpool they totally dominated Klopps team and could have scored more goals. But for some reason Dortmund than stopped playing and encouraged Liverpool to come back. So it is not a matter of Liverpool being stronger or the better team but more lack of mentality on Dortmunds side in the last 30 minutes. This duel wasn't about who has more class but who is more fanatic to win....

  • @richccfc Your condition has a name. Psychotic neurosis...

  • @neumi17 Another loss for inferior Bundesliga

  • incredible game. jurgen klopp made this game beautiful and his team play offensively and fast not a football with boring and repetitive passes. best coach.

  • It's about the Jurgen Kloop effect. I believe strongly that in another 2 or 3 seasons time EPL clubs will start dominating in Europe the way Spanish clubs are currently doing. And that will be as a result of the fine coaches now moving to England, who will in turn attract fine players to play in the EPL and rep English clubs.

  • Brilliant from Liverpool, amazing! Where are all those people who say the Premier League is a 'mule' league? This is what happens when the 8th placed PL team takes the Europe League seriously: they beat a team that can supposedly destroy every PL team. Plus Man City in the semis of the Champions League, beating another team that was supposedly far superior to them. But well done Liverpool and Klopp, the EL is there's to lose now.

  • @What4 And I forget, thanks to Liverpool for making PL fans take interest in the Europa League, more PL teams should take the competition seriously from now on.

  • @What4 Don't forget that Chelsea won the Europa League in 2013, sometimes PL teams take this competition seriously

  • @Ouftey- This is a rare instance of a prem team being involved in the competition whilst being so far back in the hunt for a top 4 spot. It helps that Liverpool don't have to hedge their bets like Spurs had to over the last couple of seasons.

  • @What4 They should. A win means a Champions League spot

  • Milner has 5 assists and 3 man of the matches on whoscored in his last 3 games. Magnificent Milner.

  • dortmund who???

  • @fafaq poor you if that is your first comment...

  • @neumi17 who the hell are you? are you guard or something of here? poorer

  • @neumi17 Don't Understand the bashing after such a good game. We should all be happy

  • Over the moon

  • 4:3 And thanks to Jurgen Kloop. Liverpool really turning up now adays.

  • eat your socks!!! all those who said the game is over after 8th minute!

  • 4-1 in the second half. lol Fairplay to Liverpool.

  • What.A,Game. Congrats to both Dortmund and Liverpool

  • игра просто на эмоциях !!! всегда должен быть футбол таким!!

  • What a game!:D

  • 3:3 wao......one more goal and Liverpool makes it.

  • Hummels just a fantastic defenceman on both ends....

  • I agree with you guys, awesome football! Well taken goal by the way and great playing by Can. Firmino is very good playing back towards the goal.

  • this has been a pleasure to watch

  • Spectacular heavy metal high speed game with fantastic plays on both sides. That is football ! But Pep would hate it, no control...

  • @neumi17 Yes but Pep played against Juventus and Benfica. Not against a very weak Porto and Liverpool.

  • If liverpool goes all out attack,Dortmund will score atleast 2 or 3 more goals.

  • I've seen better football is first 10 minutes then in all the games in champions leaugue yesterday.

  • That's some deadly counter attacking from Dortmund, they really have the pace and skill! But Liverpool should have been more responsible with the ball, their looking like Arsenal loosing possession too easily in dangerous positions. And Sakho really needs to be replaced in the summer, he's still insecure with the ball and wasn't convincing in either goals. Not that it's his fault they are loosing. Any Bundesliga followers, how do you think Matip will do?

  • @Castle- Matip is good but still young for a central defender. He needs a solid experienced defender playing next to him and Liverpool don't have any of those. Winning the Europa league and therefore getting into the CL (qualification round permitting) will make it easier to convince Hummels to join. That would be a good pairing. Sakho is simply a terrible defender and always has been. I honestly don't know what people see in him, Deschamps especially. Matip's positioning sense is far better than Sakho's as is his decision making skills and tackling.... and pretty much everything else one would categorise as being core skills needed for a central defender pre-2008. Now of course it's how fast they are and whether they can run back and make a clearance off the line- especially if their error enabled the shot to happen in the first place.....

  • @SteveHyland Europa League winner directly gets a Group Stage. No qualification round for them.

  • @JaydeepJG- My bad, I stand corrected, though not sure how that's possible that a cup winner gets guaranteed admission when a more consistent team (by way of proving so over the course of a whole league season) has to qualify. Ah well.

  • @Castle Matip is a solid defender with good passing skills but the occasional error ...

  • @neumi17 Thanks! I'm under the same impression. Got to be an upgrade on Sakho though, he's been the last man in Liverpool's line in all goals. Especially the third goal would have been offside had he played it right.

  • Could be 2-5 already

  • Dortmund leads by 2 goals in less than 10 minutes of play. I think Liverpool is out.

  • Game over already after 8 minutes ! Didn`t expect that...

  • @neumi17 Game is never over till the final whistle, when Liverpool FC on the pitch

  • @dzvinka True but it is more Dormtmunds fault. After the 3:1 lead they stopped playing football and aggressive defending cause they thought they are through. Klopps team maintained the mentality and Dortmund didn't. It normally impossible to give up a 3:1 lead if you control the game. For some reason Dortmund just gave the game away...

  • Liverpool not on the pitch yet

  • Dortmund is on fire ! Looks like they wanna eat Poolfor dinner ....

  • That was fast ...

  • Weidenfeller - Piszczek , Sokratis , Hummels , Schmelzer - Castro , Weigl - H. Mkhitaryan , Kagawa , Reus - Aubameyang

  • Mignolet - Clyne , Lovren , Sakho , Alberto Moreno - Milner , Can - Lallana , Roberto Firmino , Coutinho - Origi

  • @neumi17 Yes, this formation deserves clearly two thumbs down, I agree...

  • The number of players Dortmund rested in the derby shows you how much they respect Liverpool. Obviously Dortmund have to come out, so hopefully we get an open game.

  • As a Kop Fan, Congratulations Liverpool and Klopp either, Hard Game but endured the press play. We Survives the Whole Game things. #AadamsMjb

  • @AadamsMjb What are you trying to say?!

  • both to score... and result is unpredictable...

  • Hopefully Liverpool go through so sevilla will have an easier time in the semis

  • @Beastador From here on every game is unpredictable. It could be any two teams in the final.

  • @Beastador sevilla can be knocked out too.

  • 2:2

  • Very much disagree with the predicted line-ups. After the Stoke game it's almost 100% certain that Sturridge and Origi will start together. Perhaps 4-3-3: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Milner, Can, Coutinho, Sturridge, Origi, Firmino..

  • @Ron123 And I have to disagree with you. Coutinho and Lallana should be Pool's wingers today, no matter what. If both Sturridge and Origi start they'll play 4-4-2 and there would be no room for Firmino, he just isn't that effective on the wing. My choice would be 4-4-1-1 with Firmino behind Origi if former is fully fit. If not, preview's line-up sounds just fine.

  • I dnt think so Liverpool make it to 3 points ...

  • 1-1 1-2et

  • Which ever team wins this tie, wins the Europa Leugue trophy. Mark my words.

  • @Kendev There is sevilla and Villareal too mate.

  • @Kendev Sevilla or Villarreal

  • @Kendev Check you out, backing the two tournaments favorites, regular old billy big balls aint ya.

  • 9 German players will be on the pitch ( 8 internationals) vs 3 british. Will see how that goes...

  • @neumi17 In the preview there's actually 4 British players, although having only few of them would in fact be rather an advantage for Liverpool. I like Lallana though.

  • @Castle I only count 3,Milner, Lallana and Clyne...Allen is welsh

  • @neumi17- Welsh are British since "Great Britain" comprises of England, Scotland and Wales. The "UK" is England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The official, full, name being "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". Not patronising you, I can imagine it's difficult to understand the minutiae being German and no doubt hearing the 3 terms used interchangeably (and therefore incorrectly).

  • @SteveHyland I didn't express myself clearly, sorry. I was trying to say that there were 9 german players on the field that are eligible to play for Germany whereas on 3 players that could play for England.

  • Whoscored optimistic as usual when it comes to britsh clubs... :-))))

  • This fixture might end in a draw, say 2:2, with Dortmund progressing to the next round.

  • Dortmund will qualify for the next round!

  • All i want to see is Lovren and Sakho continuing same excellent form.......all the way up front is Coutinho and Origi to progress to another round. YNWA.

  • Lol only 2 players in this lineup were in Dortmund previous line up. (Hummels and Bender)

  • Dortmund can beat any team anywhere.1-2

  • Everyone picks Liverpool.. Silly, Silly. Dortmund is a top 10 team in the World, Suckpool is no where near. Dortmund advances.

  • @nlong509 How did that turn out for you? Ouch! Hahaha :) I'm not even a LFC fan!

  • @nlong509 Everyone picked Dortmund to win the first leg so your point is moot.

  • @nlong509 Being top team or even better team doesn't ensure the victory in these kind of competitions, right tactics and good form are more important. Liverpool look confident now and already managed to have good result in first leg. You could say they have a momentum, although Dortmund are undoubtedly more qualified team. That should make a great match, I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool somehow would find themselves qualified for next round.

  • 2-1 for Liverpool

  • Liverpool to win 2:0.

  • 2-1 Liverpool, 1-0 1st half, 1-1 2nd half

  • Liverpool will go through. Dortmund is not as strong as everyone writes, the only real opponent in Bundesliga for them is Bayern and that they lost profoundly.

  • @Stas_V. In any case they are stronger than Liverpool and would lead the PL by far...

  • @Stas_V. Grade A analysis. You should really write for a living!!

  • @nlong509 you stupid or what? Dortmund in EL this season hasn't really played anybody really strong. In the group, th they only won 1 game out of 4 with PAOK and Krasnodar, losing 2. In play-offs, they played Porto, which is like the worst version of itself ever, and Tottenham, who (sadly and stupidly) didn't give a sh*t about EL. Now, the first strong team they play, and they tied 1:1. Why would they win on Anfield?

  • Both teams rotated in weekend which looks quite promising for this match. For Dortumund the biggest question is whether Gundogan will start and if he's in his best form. Klopp have to make decision between Sturridge and Origi as latter has hit fine form lately. Firmino isn't at his best yet but should start, Milner could play in middle with Can if Henderson is out. This should be a tight fixture with extra time right in our hands so I bet 1-1, after that either side could go through.

  • draw 2-2 and Dortmund go the semi

  • liverpool will go through final is going to be sevilla vs liverpool!!

  • @fahsfjashf Dortmund vs Donezk

  • @neumi17 sevilla-donetsk
