1-3 to the blues, but I'd prefer courtois to keep a clean sheet.
1-1. Not even Conte can undo the damage Mourinho did with his "scorched earth" policy.
Chelsea have a easy match, they need to win against Hull.
You cant play Kante and Matic in same midfield! They are same players and I dont think they can fit into a 4-1-4-1! Conte must get the tactics right and If his Chelsea team doesnt have toom for Cesc then his days are numbered! It was Cesc and Matic with this team that won the league two seasons ago!
@albgunn They can both play together but I believe their positions must be swapped. Kante's passing ability is not good enough for that position and he can't really control the tempo of the game. I believe Chelsea has the ingredients to play a perfect 4-3-3. With Matic as a CDM, Kante as a perfect box-to-box player and Fabregas as a playmaker.
@albgunn You can actually play them together, but only if parking with two DMs. Matic just isn't good enough further forward so Conte needs to decide, play defensively with 2 DMs of drop Matic and play 4141
@hackerjack @albgunn I agree, Matic is not a CM. Drop him for Fabregas.
Conte must change tactics and should get his team to focus in midfield and attack instead of defence where Chelsea's main play is focused now! Liverpool nor City have any better defense tbh but their play lies elsewhere. Conte should get his team to create and attack and not get 11 men behind the ball! Ivanovic and Cahill are not bad players and they've been solid for many years for Chelsea but when the whole team plays below par then dont expect heroes! negative tactics = negative results!
How on earth has Ivanovic been awful? By you're own sites stats he has a rating of 7.03. 4th best in the Chelsea team and best of the defenders. Cahill fair enough has been pretty poor but Ivanovic has done nothing to warrant being dropped.
@hackerjack Have you watched our games recently with Liverpool and Arsenal? Cause you wouldn't be saying that if you have watched the games. Ivanovic, Cahill and Matic has been in a horrifying form since the Burnley game.
@mcpvp42 I have yes. The whole defence was poor in those two games, but of the four Ivanovic was possibly the best, certainly no worse than Luiz or Azpilicueta, he's also been pretty solid in the rest of the games.
I think that against the 'bigger' teams Chelsea have a different tactic which they sit back and try to park a blue bus behind the ball. But, like the Arsenal game, it pretty much always doesn't work and they can't do it unless they have their defence decent again and I reckon Conte won't try it this time because Hull isn't a good team at the moment and I reckon Chelsea will be like they were against Burnley.
