Team News

Man Utd
Burnley
  • Eric Bailly has been ruled out for two months with a knee injury, while Wayne Rooney is still a doubt with a thigh injury.
  • Marcus Rashford limped off towards the end of the Manchester derby on Wednesday night with what looked like a muscle injury and is unlikely to feature on Saturday.
  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba looked tired towards the end of their 1-0 win over Manchester City and could do with a rest, but it remains to be seen whether Jose Mourinho will give them time out the time when they cannot afford to drop more points.
  • Michael Carrick and Juan Mata impressed on Wednesday but they might find it hard to retain their spot on Saturday.
  • Andre Gray is back available for Burnley after serving his four-match suspension, but they are likely to be withou Steven Defour, Ashley Barnes, George Boyd and Stephen Ward for the trip to Old Trafford.

Prediction

  • Manchester United bounced back from their 4-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend with a 1-0 win over Manchester City on Wednesday night to advance to the League Cup quarter finals. They must now turn their attentions to Saturday where they need to beat Burnley to avoid dropping further behind the league leaders, with six points currently between them and Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.
  • Burnley pulled off a surprise 2-1 win over Everton last time out, but have lost all three of their away games in the league thus far and have conceded three goals in each of them. They cannot continue that form away from home and need to change that quickly, although that is easier said than done.
  • The home side have scored three goals in each of their previous two home meetings with Burnley, which does not bode well for Sean Dyche's side this weekend. However, United have endured a a tough schedule in the last few weeks and fatigue could definitely play a part this weekend.

  • Ibramug 12 shots and 0 goals, that shows how useless is he.

  • Total Shots 37 - 7 ok this is crazy

  • i don't know what's wrong with mou. though man u played well but we still needed a goal.so why sub off one of mata, one of the best player if not the best. it just doesn't make any sense

  • Hahahahahaha! Sunderland and Man U need to swap managers, lol. Sunderland will get a bus-parker, and Man U will get a better manager. Win-win.

  • Juan Mata 8 key passes, 100% passing completion, 2 accurate crosses, 1 accurate through ball, woodwork hit. But gets subbed off after 72 mins. Mourinho logic strikes again.

  • @TacticalMastermind2.0- He just doesn't like him. Jose makes a number of (most of his?) decisions based on personal feelings, which is partly why he is such a polarising character. Players love or hate him and he loves or hates players. This can change for the worse (Matic, Hazard, Fabregas...) but it never changes for the better. They say never say "never" but I can't think of one. He was 'stuck' with Mata. Juan will not be there next season if Jose is.

  • @TacticalMastermind2.0 Honestly you just knew it was going to end 0-0 once Rooney was brought on.

  • Mourinho using Mata in his original position, as attacking midfielder. I wonder why couldn't he do that in Chelsea???

  • Beware of Burnley goal keeper.

  • Jose mourhino needs to be sacked! he doesn't know his best formation and he has lost his tactical brain!

  • @Wymil15 What more could he have done today? Outshot, outpossessed, kept Burnley very quiet. If it weren't for Heaton United would have won 4/5-0 easily today. Keeper was outstanding.

  • Very Dear, even against Heaton, it's possible. The fact is that Mourinho has not tactical brain and he's not using the right men in the right place. I would even say that he has the best player in his team (Mkhitaryan who was the best player of Bundesliga a few months ago) and he even doesn't put him on the bench !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @khonda All his subs were very bad. His subs were very negative after the red. 10 vs 11 man u could still have been dominant, such was their extreme dominance 11 vs 11.

  • Tom Heaton is an incredible keeper. 11 saves vs Southampton, 7 vs Everton and now 11 today. All in consecutive games. He is definitely the best keeper in the league right now in my book.

  • jose has got skill unlike his rivals pep

  • @Wymil15 What kinda skill, trash talk ?

  • @neumi17 Well he won champions league with Porto unlike pep who got best team in world which didn't require manager at all to win silverware.

  • So, Burnley are in the EPL, ey?

  • UNITED 3:0.

  • Boring tactics - all balls out wide and crossing to Ibramugovic, so 1-0

  • Home over 2.5

  • i wonder if burnley will get another good result

  • @Ashkerbash United*

  • Draw 1-1.

  • 2-0 Man united Pogba scores

  • 3-0
