Liverpool doing their best impression of Arsenal 2015/16. Van Dijk and Fonte played well but largely because Mane and Coutinho dilly-dallied. Had they both shot at the ideal moment, then neither of the aforementioned Saints defenders would've had a chance to play this well imo. Firmino's miss was ridiculous. Mane and Coutinho had half an excuse that there was a giant CB hounding them, Roberto I'm afraid needs a screaming winner in a would-be 0-0 to make up for this I'm afraid. Not sure how much of Liverpool's clean sheet was down to reluctance and an inability to attack from Southampton and how much was down to an understanding between Matip & Lovren. My guess is the former. I think we all know Matip's CB partner next season will be van Dijk anyway.
@neumi17 Southampton have only let in 5 goals in 6 games at home in the league. Forster only made 2 saves today. Liverpool can't complain much about a draw.
I don't think Sturridge really fits to this Liverpool system, he doesn't offer enough movement and pressing to lead the line which is ironic since few years ago he was considered one of the quickiest forwards in tje league. He's still a threat though, and I would consider to start him and drop Coutinho deeper as Lallana is probably out. As for Saints, I believe they are starting to transform from now on aw they look to bring Boufal in. That could mean moving Tadic eventually to no. 10 in 4-2-3-1 formation. But I don't see them abandoning three man midfield yet so either Boufal or Redmond must settle for the bench for now. 3-2 for Liverpool is my guess.
Don't see anything apart from a Liverpool win with so many injuries for the Saints. Their defence (including Romeo who has been very good this season) is intact so it may not be a drubbing. Ultimately it depends if Puel plays defensively. My guess is he will with Liverpool being the league leaders in scoring. If Soton are to play a sit-back-and-counter style, I'd expect Redmond to started. He isn't listed as injured, so I'll assume he isn't, and he is the quickest Soton player so it'd make sense starting him so he can run into the space in-between Matip and Milner. 2-1 Liverpool.
Liverpool are undoubtedly a good team in great form atm. Their attack is extremely potent but I don't think it'll be the walkover that people are predicting. S'hampton have a v good defence and could hit pool on the counter. Am predicting a Liverpool win but this could be a very unpredictable match.
@jefferee Moment of truth coming up...
However, with Lallana injured, 0-3 or 1-3 may be more realistic.
But, then again, this entire year has been unrealistic.

@Mega Yeah for example Arsenal only got a lucky penalty vs Saints at home to win. Otherwise a copy of this match a 0-0.
Tomorrow by 5pm Chelsea will be top of the league. Thank you Saints!
@denisgrad Chelsea top of the table is almost as bad as Trump president
@denisgrad Fingers crossed, but let's not get too cocky now.
I would like to see Jay Rodriguez start for Southampton in a game like this.
1-3 liverpool ,mane,Sturridge, Coutinho

1-4
Feeder club v. Parent club. I think the Saints front three can surprise Liverpool.
@What4 the saints front tree can surprise liverpool defense "how could you go this far, go back defending mate"
@whoknows No.
