A decent first half from Stoke followed by a poor second. Largely because Liverpool upped the tempo/pressure. Firmino's goal on HT really killed Stoke's optimism I feel. I'm sure I wasn't the only one watching who thought "easy win now" when Liverpool went in with the lead. I still doubt Stoke would've got anything out of the game had they gone in level, or even ahead, because Hughes' Stoke can't defensively batten down the hatches like Pulis' could. Better conversion rate from Liverpool, even taking out the own goal. All in all, a deserved win to make it all top 4 teams playing well and getting a deserved victory this round.
@ball You're an embarrassment to all United fans, just stop. And stop pretending to be Zlatan as well, he's achieved more in 1 day than you'll have in your life.
@Aereze hahahah.....asifffff dude......did I say I was zlatan then??....NO....you are a prat mate!!!.....folly all the way!........follishnesh!!!!......happy as to help, but united are the best, just to make that clear......also chelsea are 100 times better!!!!
@koroush well that's good to see you supporting stoke....it wud be a fail if you were to support liverpool, makes me feel sick!!...dont be fooled into supporting liverpool, I wud say united!!!
Liverpool scored over 1,5 at the last 7/6 home matches in PL. Total goals under 2,5 at the Stoke away matches 8/6 in PL. Liverpool failed win at home. In my opinion 2-0
There is little chance of Sturridge starting ahead of Origi. He did well against Everton but Klopp clearly doesn't fancy him as a starter in the league and he doesn't really suit Klopp's front 3. I also think Can will play instead of Wijnaldum. Liverpool's midfield are far more balanced with him. I think Stoke will score but Liverpool will score more, 3-1.
@SteveHyland Difficult to disagree much, Klopp probably wouldn't even start Origi in this match unless he wouldn't have to, but clearly he trusts him more than Sturridge whom he sees as a substitute at the moment. It's important for Liverpool to win this here to keep in the race but avoiding injuries and exhausting players is equally important. Keeping in mind that Klopp's sides haven't that great injury record and his game plan is very intensive, it would be wise to rotate at some point. I think he's going to get most out of Mane before his national team but at least Firmino could use some rest. On the other hand lack of European football surely helps them.
@Castle- I would be surprised if Sturridge is still at Liverpool after the January transfer window. They will get £20m for him at least and Klopp will no doubt have a player in mind to bring in. Mane going to the African nations can be negated somewhat by moving Lallana further forward and putting Wijnaldum in his place. You wont get the same explosiveness in the RF position but Lallana can at least play there. The lack of genuine depth is a problem for Liverpool. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Firmino. I'm all for everybody caught drink-driving given a custodial sentence but we're a weak country when it comes to the rich and famous so he'll probably get off with an easily payable fine. The lack of European football has definitely helped them thus far, we will see how they can handle this congested period with a relatively small useable squad.
As a DM Henderson has the most fouls in the team...
