  • An easy win, we should've won by more. Giroud's goal was amazing. 2 months in a row where the goal of the month will be this so-called scorpion kick. Olivier's was clearly more difficult largely because he had to take it in stride. Most people can't lift their leg that high behind their head let alone control a shot. Alexis played well. Hopefully he gets a rest against Bournemouth. All in all, a good day to start the year.

  • To those who say Mkhitaryan's goal is better atleast Giroud wasn't offside #Gunners #YaGunnersYa

  • Does anyone know why Ozil is not playing please?

  • @TSN But it doesn't make a difference, does it? The game is more fluent without him so far ...The man who dribbles, scores, assists and gives key passes is Sanchez anyway.

  • @neumi17 The problem with Sanchez is that he dribbles too much. Sometimes he doesn't choose the better option.

  • @TSN The reports say that Özil is sick. He will probably recover for in time for Bournemouth.

  • @TSN illness. A doubt for the Bournemouth game as well

  • two scorpion kicks in the Premiere League in such a close time span, never ever. Giroud's one was the better one, but I really did like Graeme Souness comment on the question about the best goal of the year. He answered: "Best goal of this game."

  • @libehv But Souness is a prick and a windbag

  • Giroud is like a fine French wine, he just gets better and better with age. I think we can safely say he's better than Benzema now. That goal was better than Mickytaryan's. And Giroud was involved in the build-up with a clever flick.

  • @What4 every thing says it's one of the best in history. The post added more action. Reaction skill luck and other thing make it so beautiful.

  • @What4 Giroud improved very much. But his technical skills and tactical versatility put Benzema in a different league.

  • @BeautifulLoser What are you on about? Real Madrid has the best squad in La Liga, and Benzema has never been special in that team. Better technical skills? Not really. Tactical versatility? Don't make me laugh. What exactly does Benzema do?

  • @What4 Just compare the number of goals scored by Ronaldo with Benzema to his tally without Benzema. Then you will immediately realize Benzema's tactical versatility. He is perfect in his role of giving balance to a team like Real, as a supporting center forward and as a partner for goal oriented midfielders and wingers. And he plays an excellent und underrated false nine. Disclaimer: I am the antipode of a Real Madrid fan! To prove my case just search some articles about him. "Is Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema underrated" or "Karim Benzema is the real MVP of Real Madrid’s star-studded attack" or "How important is Karim Benzema to Cristiano Ronaldo’s goalscoring exploits".

  • @BeautifulLoser Benzema can dribble and has good control of the ball. Giroud doesn`t ... He is a pure goal poacher but doesn`t know what to do with the ball if he isn`t directly in front of the goal .

  • That goal was almost as gorgeous as Giroud himself

  • @SmoothJitsu253- That isn't possible. Ha

  • Fantastic goal by Giroud ! Who is Mhkhitaryan...?

  • Now that was a golazo, Monsieur Giroud!

  • Arsenal 3:1, Crystal defence is owfull.

  • Maybe a draw, over 3,5 goals, 2-2 (Benteke-Townsend and Giroud-Ozil to score)

  • I can see a high scoring game here arsenal 3-2

  • Arsenal is very Poor. 1x

  • Perez should start here in the right flank! That kid Iwobi must be dropped from first team! He has horrible stats for a forward and having scored 1 goal with so many games at home and even CL he shouldn't be near first team! Wenger is a right idiot! Start Ramsey with Xhaka in the middle as Arsenal'd have better ball movement in the and Perez on end tight flank! Arsenal 3:0!

  • BIG SAM will frustrate arsenal with his bus and should at least get a draw.

  • @WazzaFC Hasn't had enough time to implement it. If this was 2 months on, maybe, but not with their injuries and the fact that he's only been at CP for a couple weeks.

  • 2-1 for arsenal with a late winner hopefully Crystal Palace under Sam can be worse than west brom under pulis

  • Hopefully we'll see some rotation here. Sneaky Sam wont have been able to implement his 19th century football tactics in this short space of time, so I think we'll create chances and put enough of them away to win. Luckily our defence didn't really need to expend much energy defending against West Brom so the CBs should be ok, but I would rest Bellerin anyway because we don't have a viable long-term backup. I would go with: Cech, Holding, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Elneny, Ramsey, Chamberlain, Perez, Iwobi, Giroud with a view to Bellerin, Gibbs, Coquelin, Xhaka Walcott, Oezil and Alexis starting against Bournemouth in a mere 2 days' time. There will then be 11 days rest (assuming we play an entirely 2nd choice XI against Preston in the F.A Cup, which I hope we do) so we can play the same XI against Swansea that start against Bournemouth. As for this game, 2-0 Arsenal.

  • @SteveHyland his name is Mesut Ozil and stop with your Oezil spelling! Is getting very boring now!

  • @albgunn- Don't be a moron. There are umlauts (the 2 horizontal dots) above the O. You can therefore either write his surname as Özil or Oezil given umlauts above the O result in pronouncing the vowel as "Er". I use the latter for writing convenience since I don't have a German keyboard (which have umlauted vowels as an independent key for the most part).

  • @SteveHyland As much as I agree with the need for rotation here, Le Prof is known for his reluctance to rotate too much, esp since the players have had a week to rest. Wenger is more likely going to utilize the fringe players to replace tired legs vs Bournemouth. Having said that, I believe that Lucas Perez could be something special;he needs a run of games and Ramsey is really underperforming.

  • @Valor- That is possible, as long as there is rotation for one of the games of the players I mentioned then I'll be content. Bournemouth will be the harder game footballing wise, but should also be the most open so presumably less need for the more inventive players. I didn't like the signing of Perez initially, because of the type of forward we needed at that time is clearly not him. Little did we know Wenger had plans for Alexis in that role so Perez will likely be a wide forward and has done well there thus far. With Welbeck back in training, we could have some viable options up front.

  • Arsenal 3-1 Crystal Palace

  • Great. Arsenal will now have to play a Fat Sam Palace vs Pardiola.
