Meh, it's not like Everton out-played us, they just got the winner from a corner, with no discernible marking. Williams is not particularly big for a CB.
Not sure where we went after Alexis' goal. The game started off like a training exercise and although the goal was fortunate in the way it came, it was deserved nonetheless. However, after about half an hour, we switched off. Even when we were in possession, we didn't look particularly penetrative and although I don't mind patient build-up, this looked more like we were waiting for Everton to present us with an opportunity rather than create the opportunity ourselves. That works with poor teams but Everton have some good players and Koeman is a good manager. You could see how he set up the team not to be overawed at the start but aggressive once they equalised, I would've hoped we'd nullify their aggressiveness by playing one-touch football, moving it quickly and getting them running. They aren't a team happy at doing that for large portions of the game a la Leverkusen/Liverpool. Not sure how Iwobi didn't score at the end but a point would've been fortunate. Need to beat City now.
@SteveHyland I think we were tired. In the 2nd half it was quite obvious that we tired more than Everton. Their 2nd goal was very undeserved. First, Koscielny was elbowed by Lukaku, then a foul was given on Kos when he got the ball, then the corner was given when it should have been a goal kick.
What a fighting spirit from Everton, their win wasn't undeserved. This could turn out to be a turning point for them, with this kind of performances their really tough team to beat. They started season brightly but never really reached their best before they started struggling as usual. But maybe they'll improve now on and some January signings might help too. I could be too optimistic though.
@Castle- Yeah, during all my 25 years as an Arsenal fan, I've seen Goodison Park as one of the tougher away venues. Granted, we have given Everton some wallopings at home but rarely away. The claustrophobic nature of their group makes for an intimidating atmosphere when they fans are loud. If they play like this in all their home games, we wont be the only title contender to drop points.
I got no time for longer explanation since I'm on my job. But Everton will be desperate to bounce back and get something out of this game. And Koeman stoped Arsenal twice last season with Southampton. If Bolasie and Koné were in I would go for a Everton win, this way I'm picking a score draw, and goals galore again. 2-2 Good luck guys!
Arsenal to win 3-1....Sanchez, Ozil and the Ox or Walcott. On current form, we should really have no excuse to not get all 3 pts here, so we will win but also concede 1 as is the fashion @ Arsenal.
This is a hard game. Everton lost thier last away game 3-2 at Watford. 11 games with only 1 win. Koemen tactics not working out yet. Needed a stoppage time penalty against Manchester United. Needed a stoppage time equalizer against Swansea. ( Couldn't beat Swansea seriously.) Thier defense is weaker. Even if he rotated Everton defense isn't the desirable. Wenger licking his hands at the thought of playing Everton. Arsenal has 24hours to move top of the table. This is opportunity given. You gonna take it. Arsenal are playing soo good at the moment. And I'm tipping them here for a win.
Everton 1-2 Arsenal.
All the Chelsea fans have crawled out of the woodwork now that "club legend" Mourinho has left the building and they finally have a manager who knows what's what.
Xhaka, yes him, will be the biggest difference in this game. Everton will hardly venture out and Lukaku will remain a lonely athlete upfront: but they'll set up to break fast and counter. Granit must keep his concentration sharp to stop counters like that. I didn't see the intensity @ Basel against Stoke, and expect to see it again. This match is as important as good health for #AFC.
Dicey contest! Hoping for another Theo goal and a victory
@ElikaPark My hope in Theo Walcott spark is dashed, YET AGAIN. I'm in no support of Ox starting he's a great sub. Arsene owes the ThreeLions no favour; he should start Lucas Perez instead! With him there are at least two forward players with an eye for ruthless finish.
@ElikaPark Breaking up attacks comes natural to Coquelin; not sure about Xhaka yet as he gives away stupid fouls. But I love Xhaka for his fancy long passes.
A 2-goal Arsenal win. I like Koeman and hope Everton persevere because he worked wonders with Southampton despite losing his best players every season. Long-term he will make Everton has strong as they've ever been in the prem. It will take time though, so 2-0 or 3-1 to us. Went for 3-1 because of our tendency to give away stupid goals once the game is won.
@SteveHyland Yes I completely agree. But I hope our defence is secure with Gabriel....his weakness is probably his pace and power....which is exactly what Lukaku has. Hope we can finally keep a clean sheet tho.
I think that Everton maybe will try to put themselves together and play as a team to get something from this game. They havenot won for a long time and now is the perfect moment to do just that. With Mustafi missing for Arsenal and themplaying City on the transfer next game my prediction will be 1x double chance for Everton.
@WazzaFC Just to let u know, Arsenal have NEVER lost at home against a single foreign team in the Champions League unlike man u. The last 2 times we've played Bayern at home, we have won so stop being so deluded....
@WazzaFC- Smashed? Using an aggregate of the games we've played against them in recent memory, per year (2 games each obviously), we lost 3-2; 3-2; 3-3 (away goals); 3-1 and 5-3. None of those were a "smashing" (although the game at the Allianz was a terrible performance, we should've won by more at home though) and we're one of the few teams to not have only beaten Bayern but to have actually given them a decent game. They are better than us when both are at their best, but your beloved Utd wouldn't stand a chance against them. We at least do.
@What4 I guess fate just wants us to beat them first in a round-of-16 game, before we are free to meet other teams in that round. Not fair though. Now that we finally finished top hoping to avoid the big ones, and here comes Bayern again.
@Valor The chances of us facing Bayern or Barcelona go up when you realise that Real Madrid have the most supporters in the world, if you get what I'm saying....
@SteveHyland I would never suggest UEFA use hot and cold balls or some sort of colour scheme. Preposterous! Anyone who suggests such things is clearly a conspiracy theorist...
Mustafi is out for some weeks. Gabriel now has a chance to prove himself. I hope he stays fit. I think Wenger will reinstate Ramsey to the starting XI, likely at the expense of Xhaka; Coquelin had a solid game vs Stoke with some impressive interception. I would go for Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Gibbs, Coquelin, Ramsey, Walcott, Ozil, Ox, Sanchez. Arsenal to win this with their impressive away form.
@Overmars- I'm sure he will, if only to counter cart-horse Barry's Neanderthal antics. Ramsey always pulls out of challenges now which is possibly why Wenger is reluctant playing him the CM regularly. Cazorla, give him his due, put in a tackle when he could even though it isn't his natural game. I miss Santi.
And it looked like Sanchez was aiming for the nutmeg with his free-kick. I found that absolutely hilarious.
Meh, it's not like Everton out-played us, they just got the winner from a corner, with no discernible marking. Williams is not particularly big for a CB.
Very good thank you Everton. Now lemme widen the gap at the top. CHELSEA here we go.

@Castle what happened today is simply called home advantage...some of us saw it coming but majority of you all didn't......Fifa rocks!!!!
Those who down voted me for the Fifa comment this one is for you
Spectacular chances at the end !
Putrid performance from us
Ok Ffs ✋✋✋ @neumi17
Lol I thought coquelin would have got it @neumi17
Sanchez, who else...
Who got the assist
@Sanjay.1910 Obviously no one...
I think double chance will be better for Everton.
Worried, with koeman as their manager, it will dangerous to be too confident. Good luck to our players, COYG!!!!
I got no time for longer explanation since I'm on my job. But Everton will be desperate to bounce back and get something out of this game. Both teams to score and maybe Arsenal to win. I don't trust that much on Gunners, an away double chance plus over 1.5 goals could be good enough.
I think arsenal will win but Everton cud strike a surprise with lukaku an other key players they have
@Chelsea4Ever looks like they did...
1-1 or 2-2 ( Sanchez, Lukaku, Mirallas)
Arsenal will take this game serious. 2-3 goals for Arsenal and maybe 1 for everton.
Arsenal to win 3-1....Sanchez, Ozil and the Ox or Walcott. On current form, we should really have no excuse to not get all 3 pts here, so we will win but also concede 1 as is the fashion @ Arsenal.
I want 10 likes for absolutely nothing. Can I get those likes plz. Please.
@njamimaranga NO! Instead, you get 10 dislikes.
1 ~ 2 Arsenal
0-2

@What4 Irony is you comment on utd,chelsea matches when you support arseeeenal.

@BakedBeansBeighle In the comments below

@ChelSea1987 I like your prediction guy!

@jefferee then how comes one of your prediction is 1-0
@buthethi cus I ain't sure
@buthethi Man this is whoscored, nothing makes sense in here!
If Arsenal dont win this game the gap between them and Chelsea could become a problem
@Blacknaldo Arsenal never utilise their opportunity to go tops...I don't think they will win here
Over 2.5 gold here
Ф1(+1)
What's with Arsenal and their tendency to concede penalties?
@jefferee Does this happen on FIFA 17 as well?
@Valor nop real life
@Valor Lol.
who uses Fifa 17 to predict football matches? they're kind of accurate
Arsenal is in great form also as away team, they go for the win here 1-3 arsenal for win

3-1 to everton.
@WazzaFC Ok Wayne, put down the beer and go home now.
@What4 Like i said arseeenal will always lose away to koeman side.....
@What4 Last 2 away games against koeman's side arsenal have got smashed that's a fact.
@What4 LMFAO

@odysseyknight10 I don't see how playing Man City games affects today game they can live the moment
@njamimaranga Ok man sorry. One question? Did you check the scoreline?
Does anyone know if they're going to go back and look at Charlie Adam's stamp on Sanchez, because I haven't heard anything yet? That scab of a man.
@What4 agree Adams is a dirty player but Alexis got away with a dirty tackle on arter that should've seen red so he can consider himself square now.
@What4- He wont be punished whether they look at it.
Arsenal have drawn Bayern in the Champions League! Wow, absolutely no one saw that coming! Shocking!
@What4 As arsenal love 4th very much they will get smashed for 4t time and will be out of last 16.
@WazzaFC As a Man U fan, you have no right to talk about such things. Stick to trying to get in by the back door.
@What4 Even with Moyes we didn't lost to bayern at home unlike goonies.
@WazzaFC Just to let u know, Arsenal have NEVER lost at home against a single foreign team in the Champions League unlike man u. The last 2 times we've played Bayern at home, we have won so stop being so deluded....
@lwpgooner hahahahah Really ? bayern and barca have beaten arsenal at emirates.

@SteveHyland I would never suggest UEFA use hot and cold balls or some sort of colour scheme. Preposterous! Anyone who suggests such things is clearly a conspiracy theorist...

Arsenal half time win...I don't care what happens after.
Arsenal to win, Everton are in a poor form.
