Team News
Watford
Southampton
- Mauro Zarate is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in the 1-1 draw with West Ham last time out.
- Daryl Janmaat suffered a hip injury against West Ham that forced him off and this could faciliate Sebastian Prödl back into the team, with Craig Cathcart moved out to right-back.
- Nordin Amrabat is back in training but won't be ready until their next match at the very earliest.
- Ben Watson and Christian Kabasele are also still sidelined, while Costel Pantilimon requires a late fitness test.
- Southampton lost the EFL Cup final to Manchester United but Claude Puel should now know what his best team is. The Saints were incredibly unfortunate not to end their near 40-year wait for major silverware and Puel should stick with the same XI that started at Wembley here.
- Sofiane Boufal could potentially come into the team at the expense of Dusan Tadic, but he has only just returned from an ankle injury and may have to settle for another place on the bench here,
Caceres surely should be starting over Stephens. Puel also has to seriously consider dropping Forster for Hassen.
I miss Van Dijk
Gabbiadini to score again and Saints to win?!
Walter Mazzari must guard against that.
