- Aleksandr Grigoryan is FC Anzhi’s new head coach. The Armenian born manager took Pavel Vrba’s place, who left the club back in December.
- The Dagestan outfit were eliminated from the Russian Cup by FC Ufa earlier this week, thus failing to secure a place in the tournament’s semi-finals.
- FC Anzhi signed several new players during the winter break and released almost the entire team. Russia Youth internationals Sergey Bryzgalov, Pavel Dolgov and Ayaz Guliev, who arrived on loan from Spartak-2, are probably their most notable signings.
