Real Madrid
Villarreal
- Casemiro limped off last time out with an ankle problem, which should see Toni Kroos sit at the base of the midfield.
- Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale should both be fit to be deployed on the wings.
- Alvaro Morata should come in up top for the hosts, with Karim Benzema likely to be rested after a long showing against Espanyol.
- Alexandre Pato could be dropped from the side after missing a penalty last time out.
- Denis Cheryshev and Jonathan Dos Santos are expected to start out wide for the away side.
- Bruno will continue in the centre of midfield as the Villarreal captain hunts down Marcos Senna's appearance record.
James is honestly too important to not constantly start in the Real Madrid XI
asenjo 6.8!! the guy save atleast 4 goals
Villareal didn't play football here. They could have won this game. Kroos has played more than 100 games in that position yet he lacks tactical intelligence off the ball. Any other team could have scored 3 goals in the first half against Real Madrid. Real Madrid doesn't know when to press and when not to press. I've seen very few games where Real had tactical dominance over the opponent and Zidane has got to do a better job. Just as said, Modric is too important to sit out games like this one. These are the games that Real must win if they want to the league. I would entirely blame Zidane for this game. Danilo deserves a lot of credit because he worked tirelessly for the team.
Draw was the correct outcome for this game, both teams stay undefeated.
Two clear penalty not taken for Madrid. La liga officials hating Real Madrid since 2000.
@Sinaj they suck
Of course Madrid will still win this like they always do. Probably a header in the 91 st minute ...
Ramos 5.5 rating at half time loool, watch him score the winner though smh
@bradley.fcb you called it
@bradley.fcb Well, Varane created the situation, both should have max 5 now.
hmm this villarreal is worst than past seasons so i think real win 4-1
Hala Madrid win OK ok
This match could get complicated for Real Madrid and I don't understand Zidane's decision to rest Modric for this game. He has played a lot recently but at least he should have called him and put him on bench in case the team needs him.
1-0 Toni.
Real Madrid 0-0 Villareal
@Abdulski97 0-0 half-time and a 1-0 full-time. Real Madrid mi buen amigo...
its not going to be 5-0
its not going to be 5-0
I'm expecting a tough match for Real Madrid. Villareal has an experienced squad in the league and their back four have been playing with each other for the past couple of seasons. Their midfield and forwards are great as well. They are totally capable of doing better than last season. It's all down to Fran Escriba to get the best out of this team. Zidane has to cope without Casemiro who play a crucial part in this Real Madrid team. They obviously lose some physical presence in the midfield and they'll look vulnerable in defense as well but for me it's not logical to play 4-3-3 in the absence of Casemiro.
