Team News
Porto
Leicester
- Miguel Layun returned to first team action at the weekend for the first time in a month and is an option to start at left-back on Wednesday at the expense of Alex Telles.
- Rui Pedro, 18, made his senior debut for Porto in the same game and scored the winner. The teenager is another option in attack for Porto but isn't expected to start here.
- Felipe and André Silva are a booking away from a ban but will both be risked as Porto need a win to guarentee they follow Leicester into the knockout stages of the Champions League.
- Leicester have already secured top spot in Group G and Claudio Ranieri has confirmed Robert Huth and Islam Slimani, who are both one booking away from a ban, will not feature. Jame Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Andy King will also be rested, while Kasper Schmeichel is not ready to return from injury.
- Danny Drinkwater is currently serving a three-match domestic ban but is available to play in the Champions League and is expected to return to the team here. He could be partnered in midfield by Nampalys Mendy, who was an unused substitute in Leicester's 2-1 defeat to Sunderland at the weekend. He could make his first appearance since August here.
Show some respect lol Schmeichel has been outstanding just very unfortunate he is forced to be sidelined for quite a period of time. Zieler needs time to build up tacit understanding with teammates. Hamer...tried hard but just not quite up to class.
Leicester are falling apart like glass house. They need a new goalie ASAP. Get Asmir Begovic or someone like him. This is crazy!
@SargentBoston They already won the group. This must feel like a friendly for Leicester.
@SargentBoston Hamer is 3rd choice though
Wasilewski starts so Leicester is going to sell it... :(
@koziol.mutant True. Not as many changes to Leicester's team as some people are saying, just making excuses for a craptacular performance. Anyway, who's fault is it their squad is so small?
Leicester to win 2-1
@B3njamin Why should leicester win ? Their 1st place is guaranteed even if they lose they are 1st ?! Porto can win 1-0/2-0.
Leicester goalkeeper is useless
Porto 3-0
@angelo44 Its 3-0 now and still 35 min to go
Porto are very poor in attack, last two matched had problems to score against 10 men (scored 1 goal in 2 matches). Leicester can just go and park the bus to get 0-0. Odds on hw are just silly. One to avoid or take 0-0
Chill or not, it's very hard to win in FC Porto's stadium. But it seems very easy to draw there this season. But I feel like FC Porto it's rising their confidence. Their biggest issue is having to score goals. But I think they will win this one. FC Porto 2-0 Leicester
1-0
I think Porto will win, comfortably.
@What4 I call that a comfortable win, yes... ;-)
Porto have to win or draw to progress as Copenhagen have a almost guaranteed 3 pts. They will fight but this is unpredictable. Leicester have been in woeful form all season but seem to cope in the CL although they have already gone through so may just chill
