Not scoring a single goal may come back to haunt Barca. Barca are capable of scoring 5 or more goals, but PSG can always score 1 or 2 back.
Curently, Barca's chance to go through is only 5%. It would have been 50% if the scoreline in the first leg was 4-1. Such a huge difference a single away goal would have made.
I'm not a fan of both team. But damn, I thought Barca was invincible. PSG literally found their Achilles heel nad turned them upside down. As a Real Madrid fan, I felt bad for Barca, It's a bitter pill to swallow. I am skeptic if they can turn this around in the 2nd leg. But there is still hope for the Barca fans out there.
@vismitananda How is there "still hope" for Barcelona? They need to score 4 goals in the 2nd leg, against a solid PSG defence, just to take it to extra time and penalties. And that's assuming PSG don't score. If PSG score just 1 away goal, Barcelona need 6 goals. Yeah, that's not happening.
@uefalona I'm not sure their defence is that solid...it's more that they weren't put to any real test last night :)) don't know how long Thiago Silva is out, cause Kimpembe & Marquinhos aren't exactly your world class players; anyway, obviously the return leg is gonna look different, but indeed I don't see much hope for the Catalans, PSG will have its chances on the break...
@vismitananda I'm a fan of both so I enjoyed the game either way...but from what I saw, there's no way Barca can turn things around, even if Messi & Suarez are on their best day (worst players on the pitch last night, along with another flop of a central defender - Umtiti). anyway, cheers for the fair play, madridista :)
People who showed up here just to gloat: everybody gets it. You hate Barca and you're happy they lost. But a fan supports their team even when they lose, so I don't think your criticism means anything to fans who love their team no matter what. Barca fans know that their team is hated because they've been successful. As a heads up, one day, your team may have a lot of success, too, one day. These things come in cycles. And when that happens, people will hate your team, too. Here's hoping you stick with your team when they lose and not only love them when they win.
@vfx_superstar i totally agree, as a manchester united fan like myself. They were once successful, but now they're not successful as before. But i hope they reach the top again someday.
@vfx_superstar And I do not even need to comment on the stupid game-possession, always with backpasses and boring football to supply their obsession to maintain the score, by always keeping sleepy game when they already dominated the match, it gives me disgust watching those bitches playing
@vfx_superstar@vfx_superstar It's funny how barça players are so recognized by "fair-play". See a tough champions-league game . When they receive foul they GROUP AROUND THE REFEREE AND SHOUT VERY LOUD. They almost IMPLORE a yellow card to the opponent.
Those crybabies have lost today. That's why everyone is happy.
@vfx_superstar nah.. you need to get your head out of your ass. People don't hate Barca because they're successful. We give credit where it's due and even non-fans must acknowledged that Barca had played some of the most fascinating football ever. That however, can't mask all the dirty tricks, the play-acting, the moaning, the tax evasions, and all-around unprofessional and unsportsmanlike behavior from Barca players. When you blame everyone and everything else for your defeats (like the grass length for example) it's only natural to get hated. It's also not really a great advert for your club when your spokesperson are petty people like Xavi or Pique.
@vieri@vfx_superstar I'm going to agree with the above that probably people who hate Barca hate them for more than one reason (the dives and such). I will also agree with the other comment above that fans will love their team no matter what. Well, good fans. And that goes for every team. Think about the Chicago Cubs (sorry, baseball reference). But those fans loved their team all those years. I don't think Barca fans will give up on their team any more than Arsenal fans will give up on theirs.
Finally, for anybody thinking the possession stat fails to accurately reflect the PSG dominance, the actual possession (that being time with the ball and not Opta's pass-based formula which is used almost exclusively nowadays- including WhoScored, not a criticism I might add) was 56% to PSG not 57% to Barcelona. Makes more sense to me. I know in itself it is a meaningless stat but I was asked by a friend how it is possible for both of us to 'incorrectly' perceive the general flow and that is the answer. Maybe others on here have the same question.
All has been said about this game from the footballing side, and I agree. However I think Szymon Marciniak deserves credit. I'm the first to slate referees when they have terrible performances or bottle big decisions against big teams, at intimidating stadiums etc but today he was excellent. Completely resisted the Barcelona tactic of 'fall over dramatically and look to the ref' in the hope that is enough to buy you a free kick regardless of whether it is a foul or not. It works with Spanish referees at the Nou Camp (and most away matches in the champions league too). He also ignored the same tactic used by a number of PSG players. Without looking at every incident in slow motion, I would guess he got 95% of the decisions correct. I don't know much about him, how high his general standard of officiating is but he was great tonight. Not perfect, but fans would accept this consistency every week- especially those of us who are fans of premier league teams.
@SteveHyland that's right,this diving-acting tactics must stop,it's ruining many games.
the guy did a very good job against two really professional players using this tactics like Neymar and Busquets who master this acting stuff and caught them most of the times which is really hard ,the same for PSG he denied some diving attempts from Verratti.
If you pay attention you would realize PSG is a team always together not relying on a star. They are one look on the bromance and how they move together. BARCA however everybody is for themsleves relying always on individuals forgeting about there is a team.
@RemyLebeu- They looked completely disinterested from the first second. You could tell straight away that PSG were up for it but you could also tell Barcelona weren't. Their midfield was missing in action, defensively they were porous and "MSN" played their collective worst game I've ever seen them play. Maybe they are fed up with Enrique. He hardly seems like the character to instil confidence in a team when they are down. A managerial change in the summer is guaranteed now and maybe some freshening up in midfield.
@SteveHyland Come on! A mutiny is what Chelsea's players did last season. This is a different animal, and it's been quite chronic in FCB: complete lack of Plan B + inability to deal with high-line pressure.
@Ala mutiny or not, your argument still leads to the same conclusion - Enrique must go... I haven't seen such a lack of change of attitude after halftime in a very long time, especially for a big club and "big" coach.
"Barcelona is the best team in the world. Messi always turns up, especially in important games" and Messi still got special treatment by this site since they didn't give him the "error leading to goal" which he clearly should have gotten. Anyway, bye bye Barca!
I expected psg to beat barca but wasn't expecting this much. This is disheartening. It
will take more than miracle for barca not to be beaten again in the return leg
@moo13 Yes, Gomes was awful today, but Iniesta and Busquets are the experienced ones and they should take their responsibility. You can't blame everything on a 23 year old who plays his first season for Barca.
This Barca team is not going to win anything decent this season. MSN is good (however they played their most terrible match ever), other guys are mediocre. I mean, just look at their bench? Rafinha, Mathieu, Digne, D.Suarez... Who's gonna make a difference when they need it? Iniesta and Busquets are simply not the best anymore.
Barcelona absolutely humbled tonight. Devastating. I feel like our midfielders must take a large share of the blame. Struggled to win duels in midfield. Slowed down the play and struggled to find attackers. Most of all didn't track back fast enough in midfield. Rakitic however was quite good when coming on. Only he and Neymar can say they played at all good tonight.
@MSNism well i rooted for psg in this match. I can easily tell you barca did some wrong recruitment all summer long. They should have singned either Toni Kross or Granit Xhakha to replace Xavi.
Bought Illkay Gundogan in place of Gomes. Gundogan costed only 20 million pound and Gomes 40 million?
I mean what the heck.
we should play rackitic .. y do we underestimate him? he was so vital in 14-15 . his work rate is what barca needed. iniesta creativity and his work rate two things for midfield. gomes is still too early to play in big games .. nd for me he is one of the weakest. niether does roberto fit his role good.
@Reigan Ikr...and they payed like 45 million or something for him...isn't good enough for Barcelona B team. Only an idiot would play him before Rakitic who has proven himself countless times. Just shows that Luis Enrique isn't good enough to lead such a team...
Hmm.. Seem bit worried about Barcelona's perform.. PSG are dominant all over area. If Barcelona don't change the strategy in second half, maybe UCL Trophy is just a dream..
Barcelona won't win on Parc de Princess. I understand they have the best Front 3. But Barcelona 0-6 against Alaves or whatever is soo overated. Where are they on table? Is it 3rd or 4th. Do you know thier win ration is below 60%. Barcelona are flattering at many draws. This is Champions League football. This guy. Whose his name? Sevilla former coach. Unai Emery. This guy never lost game to Barcelona at Sanchez Pítjuan and I don't see Parc de Princes Bieng that either. Emery knows this knock out stages. 3 consecutive UEFA Europe for Sevilla. And you still think Barcelona are favorites? PSG are 2nd in league and they're playing better than Barcelona. 0-3 against Bourdex. Incredible, Maybe they might follow here with another win. Psg 2-1 Barcelona. Unbeaten at home soil. That won't change today. Psg ATW FTW 2-1/1-1.
If Barca plays like in the past two weeks, there will be no chance for PSG. Without Motta and Silva I don't see any chances for PSG tonight.
My prediction: Barca to score more than 1,5 goals
BARCA is going to give PSG what people in my country call HURTING VERB, if PSG play hard ,then the score will be 0:3 BARCA will win .take note on, the MSN
@kolako Unlikely. It's an away match. A1-1 result is more likely...In the second leg at Camp Nou, then yes it's more likely to happen the result you are predicting
did anybody else notice the symmetric display of attackers in terms of nationalities? di maria vs messi (ARG) / cavani vs suarez (URU) / moura vs neymar (BRA)... may the best musketeers win :))
"This fixture has seen at least four goals scored in each of the last four and there should be plenty of goals in this fixture with Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez both in devastating form coming into this fixture."
- Don't you guys know any synonyms for "fixture"?
@uefalona did Thiago Silva news break after first prediction? Doesn't immediately make sense to deduct prom PSG rather than change prediction to 2-3 but they may think PSG will attack less now. . .
@dSquib Thiago Silva has already scored 6 goals this season. Besides, one could reasonably think that set pieces are the best way for PSG to score vs. Barcelona.
To me, It's crystal clear that Barcelona have not been performing as good as previous seasons. Barcelona's attack however is the best attack I've ever seen and I don't think there has been any attacking trio greater than MSN. If PSG manages to control Barcelona's attack, they'll have a great chance of qualifying for the next round.
@CirdomAkul I do not see PSG as favourite in this tie. League 1 is far below than La liga and it will play a big role here. Last time we could see the confidence of winning in Barca players in every game except second leg Copa del rey against Atletico where Barca relied on counter attacking. But in other games Barca played well as a team. I see Barca as a favourite in this game. Even though PSG is playing in their home Barca will dominate and with margin of 2 goals...
@Taha25 I didn't try to imply that PSG is favourite for this tie. I just pointed out that Barcelona hasn't been performing as good as previous seasons collectively and PSG has a better chance of qualifying for the next round this season than previous seasons.
@CirdomAkul Neither PSG has been performing as good as previous seasons...Barcelona is the better team but plays away from home, a draw is kind of expected and Barcelona wins in the 2nd leg
@Lapulga Oh no I'm so afraid that my team, Barcelona, has to play against the 3rd team of France who has no Ibrahimovic anymore and loses against Guingamp :\
You guys had no idea what was to come next in the 2nd leg... *wink*
@Akhthar dont worry, they got it
To me,it looked like the game was fixed.Barca had no energy and no interest in winning. It's almost like they bet against themselves.

@uefalona This is a very funny comment in retrospect. "Yeah, that's not happening," you said. Funny. Barca scored six goals. Huh.

Shouldn't Messi be credited with an error that lead to goal? (PSG 2nd)
@DiM there was still a group of defenders that could have stopped PSG. That error was a build up for the goal
Andres Gomes is probably worst player to play at top club in years.
@NuchalLine Agreed and Valencia got almost 40mio for him CRAZINESS
People who showed up here just to gloat: everybody gets it. You hate Barca and you're happy they lost. Rabiot & Verratti were superb tonight. Rabiot has really grow so much in the last 2 years and i can see now why he was angry for being benched.

p.s.g pure soccer genius
what was the reason for barca to lose so heavily where does the blame lie
@RemyLebeu- They looked completely disinterested from the first second. You could tell straight away that PSG were up for it but you could also tell Barcelona weren't. any top predictions for bayern munich vs arsenal and real madrid vs napoli matches from good punters
uefalona got owned
And Barca was still lucky ! Could have been much worse ...
I expected psg to beat barca but wasn't expecting this much. This is disheartening. It will take more than miracle for barca not to be beaten again in the return leg
How can barca not get 1 goal at least with all that firepower what the heck.
@RemyLebeu Because they weren`t there mentally !
Luis Enriques job may be at stake if he can' turn this around
@Chinnie012 Turn this around ? Are you on drugs ?
Enrique had better over turn this and qualify for the next round or else...
@TSN , lol you think they can overturn this :D
Barca waited till Valentine s day to get f***ed
@glenbayern you just won the comment of the day brilliant
Honestly I am speechless... This is 100x better than how Bayern destroyed Barca...
@Yinsin Bayern destroyed Barça at Camp Nou, when they were waiting a revenge for the first leg. That was much better.
@Yinsin The same I would say ...
What is Paris's Masterpiece: Mona Lisa NAH... Eiffel Tour NAH ....PSG YEAH
PSG wow... The team with the most spirit in football today
as a PSG fan that watches all games i must say Rabiot is comes to life on cl games .. that was phenomenal from him!
I cannot believe Barcelona are still playing Gomes over Rakitic...that guy is one of the biggest flops I've ever seen...
@moo13 Yes, Gomes was awful today, but Iniesta and Busquets are the experienced ones and they should take their responsibility. You can't blame everything on a 23 year old who plays his first season for Barca.
@Spyro Gomes was horrible. If you play for Barca you have to be good. He is a waste of space.
Now that's what I call..... í ½í²¥í ½í²¥í ½í²¥FATALITY!!!í ½í²¥í ½í²¥í ½í²¥ Round 1 - PSG Wins..
Rabiot and Matuidi were monumental
@MoshEne Yeah Matuidi were basically everywhere and Rabiot got a yellow on third minute and still played an insanely intense game.
Why there is no error leading to goal at Messi (second goal)? He losed the ball 2 passes and Draxler scores. He didnt even run back, just looked ..
@radaner I have never seen him doing that, in any game ...
@radaner Hey it's not his job to run and defend. He is a right winger. If everyone just ran back it would mess up the formation
@radaner arrogant guy.he thinks he can do whatwver he wants
This Barca team is not going to win anything decent this season. MSN is good (however they played their most terrible match ever), other guys are mediocre. I mean, just look at their bench? Rafinha, Mathieu, Digne, D.Suarez... Who's gonna make a difference when they need it? Iniesta and Busquets are simply not the best anymore.
@Spyro Remember 7-0 Fc Bayern. Gutenabend.
Well the tie is over!dont even be delusional enough to even believe u can turn this around barca fanboys : )
PSG came 4 times in Barça? so hard
Barcelona absolutely humbled tonight. Devastating. I feel like our midfielders must take a large share of the blame. Struggled to win duels in midfield. Alien and his team got a much needed footballing lesson, their big mouth fans thought they would win before the match starts like they they always do
LOL!
I dream Napoli do the same wiht Real. Would be great :)
@afx Dream on little boy
There is only one thing to say: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
we should play rackitic .. y do we underestimate him? he was so vital in 14-15 . his work rate is what barca needed. iniesta creativity and his work rate two things for midfield. gomes is still too early to play in big games .. nd for me he is one of the weakest. niether does roberto fit his role good.
@ksjain95 How dare you say we after this slaughter. Get out man, this was hilarious.
@postzegele at least he aint plastic
FIFA is very knowledgeable about selecting their Team of the Year.
@KunAndFriends :-D.
My goodness, Kimpembe played like Maldini tonight.
One night in Paris. #Footbalporn
wow
WOW
this is the most mediocre barcelona i have watched all my life
@0782212476s If this is mediocre how do they play when they are bad ?
What.the.hell.is.going.on.
Ludogorets looked MUCH MUCH better than Barca here, I swear...
@afx Barca not exist at all in this game
André Gomes is worst player that ever played in Barca. Period. Overrated trash.
@Reigan Ikr...and they payed like 45 million or something for him...isn't good enough for Barcelona B team. Only an idiot would play him before Rakitic who has proven himself countless times. Just shows that Luis Enrique isn't good enough to lead such a team...
@Reigan Messi is great at losing balls that lead to goal too
Unbelievable....
OMG 3:0 in 56 minutes?
this is torture. can't believe I waited 2 months for this.
@DeanO Fanboys nightmare :D.
Barca come needs an away goal or two. PSG is playing with more heart an energy.
Messi trying to act like a midfielder and loses the ball ha
This is just great. I'm delighted to watch this. In two weeks barca will put messi on the bench, try again next year :'-D rofl
Draxler has scored on his debut in every competition for PSG
Julian what a boy. Btw ter Stegen trying so hard and gets 6.4, while Trapp had like no job at all and rated 6.9, legit af
Great first half by Paris ! Should be 4-1 but 2-0 is ok too ...
Hahaha barca is so crap
Hmm.. Seem bit worried about Barcelona's perform.. PSG are dominant all over area. If Barcelona don't change the strategy in second half, maybe UCL Trophy is just a dream..
Heyy Draxler, love your skills but please make the right decision now and again.
@dSquib well that makes up for it I guess:-p
Di Maria scored! He's not crap!
Curious what Cavani, Draxler, di Maria, Verrati and Matuidi can show against Barca...
@neumi17 they are ripping them apart
Seems to be a draw, 1-1 or something like that, Suarez/Cavani to score.
2-1 PSG. A PSG team quicker all over the park can cause Barcelona more problems IMO.
Barcelona won't win on Parc de Princess. I understand they have the best Front 3. But Barcelona 0-6 against Alaves or whatever is soo overated. Where are they on table? Is it 3rd or 4th. @njamimaranga i didn't know barça win ratio is below 60%. Very shocking info
PSG just never passes the eye test for me. On the other side you have the most feared front 3 in the world. 3-1 Barcelona wouldn't surprise me.
psG1 barca 4 barca win
2-2
Barca wins for sure.
@zardonic For shure ...
Thiago Silva is absent so I think Barca 2-1 will win
4-2 win for PSG! Alleezzz
If Barca plays like in the past two weeks, there will be no chance for PSG. Without Motta and Silva I don't see any chances for PSG tonight. My prediction: Barca to score more than 1,5 goals

PSG will not lose the first leg!
0-3 Barca

@elementasrat Trapp vs ter Stegen is better
Thiago Silva is also out......injured.

@dSquib they have changed it! :)
Barca wins, and OV1.5
WS predictions: 3/4 matches of CL his week is 2:2? Never seen such situation in CL... very unlikely, sorry WS
@afx they've changed this prediction to 1-2 for some reason
@uefalona did Thiago Silva news break after first prediction? Doesn't immediately make sense to deduct prom PSG rather than change prediction to 2-3 but they may think PSG will attack less now. . .
@dSquib Thiago Silva has already scored 6 goals this season. Besides, one could reasonably think that set pieces are the best way for PSG to score vs. Barcelona.
@afx *this (not his), sorry
Both teams to set out to play football and should be a great game. I think both will score and Barcelona might end up slightly 1/2 goals up!
PSG 1-2 Barcelona

@Taha25 I didn't try to imply that PSG is favourite for this tie. I just pointed out that Barcelona hasn't been performing as good as previous seasons collectively and PSG has a better chance of qualifying for the next round this season than previous seasons.
@CirdomAkul Neither PSG has been performing as good as previous seasons...Barcelona is the better team but plays away from home, a draw is kind of expected and Barcelona wins in the 2nd leg
Barca getting tough draws is a new normal..perez pays penny on time lol
@Lapulga You do realize that Napoli is probably just as good as PSG right?
@Lapulga Oh no I'm so afraid that my team, Barcelona, has to play against the 3rd team of France who has no Ibrahimovic anymore and loses against Guingamp :\
@hellreaper just shut up, you dumbass
Well, let's focus on Ligue 1 for now.
