Sutton played well. These type of games are always no-win. If you win 7-0 then you're supposed to, if you only win by a couple then you've underperformed. Ultimately all that matters is a win and 1-0 is as good as 100-0. I would take these type of games (where we don't play particularly well but still win) over the many where we've outplayed (far better) opposition and drew or lost, all day long. Sutton deserve credit for their cup run and their performance on the night. Gave it a good go, had some chances, but just wasn't to be. They've added to this year's competition regardless of this result.
@SteveHyland Another positive for Arsenal is that they didn't pick up any serious injuries. Those plastic pitches can be treacherous if you're not used to playing on them.
@MEHJones- Yep hence Welbeck not even being in the squad because of his knee injuries. Elneny picked up a calf problem but that wasn't related to the pitch.
2 shots on target against a 5 th division team, not bad Arsenal... ;-) I hope 45 year old and 300 pounds man Shaw gets to play in the second half. Maybe it will get easier than...
@What4 My prediction was partly correct in that Arsenal only scored 2 goals and therefore is not "nonsense" under any objective measure. Rather than offer your own counter prediction you chose to change the subject to a recent Tottenham defeat. We'll never know what you thought (or feared) might happen.
If Arsenal want to overcome this Sutton side they may want to watch Sutton's 0-6 capitulation at home to Dover, where *that man* Moses Emmanuel got a brace. It's proof that this team isn't invulnerable.
Well played Sutton. Before the game they said it would be an success to keep the game 0-0 for 5 minutes. And at the end they only lost by 2.

@SteveHyland I have no idea why anyone would thumbs down your comment?!
@SteveHyland Oh, I didn't hear about the injury to Elneny.

Common Sutton for the sake of banter....
@WazzaFC- Common Sutton as opposed to Aristocratic Sutton? :-p
If that skinny Sutton goalie starts he will shut up shop and might be an enduring night for Arsenal! haha
@albgunn He will eat them ))
Sutton to make history. Good luck ! (X/1) probably Craig Eastmond to score.
In any other circumstances I'd laugh at this prediction. But Arsenal is such a mess right now that it isn't funny anymore.
0:6 or 0:7 ....Sutton Will be under the pressure....and will make mistakes in the defence :)
@Andrejko If Sutton plays with only 8 men, than maybe...
Arsenal have to focus their minds on this game and not to get distracted by the potential prospect of playing the mighty Lincoln City.
0 - 2
Sutton to play the game of their lives and draw 2-2!
@MEHJones Losing to Gent, lol. They didn't even have to play "the game of their lives".
@What4 This page is about "Sutton United vs Arsenal"
@MEHJones And this is a website for football, not nonsense.

OMG that prediction. Truly dark times for Arsenal.
A team that lost 3-0 to Solihull.
@Overmars Don't knock Solihull they have Luke Rodgers on the books!
