Phoar, Mbappe!
Not over for Dortmund in this tie. The way Monaco play, Dortmund will have enough chances to win in the return. They had over double the number today and there were extenuating circumstances, as we all know. As long as they don't bottle it like Man City, it is entirely plausible- especially when you factor in that Monaco couldn't possibly have as much luck as they did today. I read that Bartra is out for the rest of the season. With that in mind, I hope Tuchel adopts a 4-1-4-1 system for the return. This 3-4-1-2 doesn't fit well with these players imo and I don't rate either Piszczek or Bender as CBs at this level.
@SteveHyland Definitely not over, there is little to choose between these two sides and they are both very good attacking teams. I expect there to be at least 4 goals in the second leg
Even though i'm a Monaco fan I feel quite bad for Dortmund. It must've been so hard to play a match a day after such a scary incident
I predicted 2-2 below. I'm not surprised by this result though. I thought monaco win was more likely if it wasn't a draw. Monaco are a brilliant counter attacking side.
What I don't understand is: if playing at home has already such a big psychological effect than how is it even possible to play a game the day after a terrorist attack on the players even with teammates injured by that attack. Dortmunds defense was the best when Sokratis, Bartra and piszczek played now with Bartra injured by the attack, how is it even possible for Bender, who hasn't even played!!, to fill in.
Monaco are the most accurate shooters on goal in Europe
Mbappé is a beast. Really starting to wonder that who will get him in this summer.
Finally Dortmund has arrived in the game...
If Démbélé was messi at his first half he would get 10 instead of 8
@Logical Any player would get a perfect 10 if they score 2 goals and play like Messi rest of the match.
@Logical except for the fact he has no dribbles, 1 shot, no aerials, tackles a total of 4 passes with 3 being accurate and 0 key passes?
There was an attack on the Dortmund-squad yesterday, and Tuschel must estimate his players: Who are mentally out, and who are mentally fit to play. It's a very special situation and one you can't prepare for - no one could foresee this situation, and the Dortmund-players are not to blame, if they fail. They might be scared, actually, for what could come from the outside. They all have families to care for, not just us fans.
Down-voted for saying Dortmund would never make it a 4-2 against this one :)
@Mahdi Because it is only happening because of the terrorist attack yesterday. No one feels like football. You don't seriously think Dortmund would play that poorly if it hadn't been for yesterdays drama?
@neumi17 when you are a big team as Dortmund is, you have to show strenght at such difficult times. that's what makes it more beautiful. these small details makes a team great
@Mahdi a terrorist attack is a "small detail"??
@jesper I didn't say terrorism is a small detail. these being strong is. If a team as big as Dortmund is hugely affected by such terrorist attacks which lead to a disappointing reslut then what's the difference between Dortmund and my local club ?
2 changes at half time already wow and I thought Pep was the only one who f*cked up at the quarter finals
Looks like Dortmund is having a bad day
Uefanaco?three decisions in their favour:soft pen,offside goal,dortmund player wrongly flagged.poor dortmund.unluck this week
Pulisic is needed at half
Terrible tactics from Tuchel in the 1st half. Dembele through the middle. His 3-5-2 looks harmless
Tough to watch under the circumstances. Dortmund not playing well. Obviously you have to ask if the quick rescheduling of the match contributed to that, even though Dortmund were never "clear favourites" - just marginal ones. A soft penalty, thankfully missed, a clear offside goal awarded to Mbappe, and a crazy own goal on top of all that. A draw would be a miracle for Dortmund at this point.
Clear off side goal by Mlappe. Don't understand why the referee didn't see that...
@neumi17 The referee is italian. Who is in charge of assigning referees to matches is italian (Baldhead Collina). And guess who is the referee for Bayern vs. Real? Exactly: an italian. They're paving Juventus path to the finals.
@BeautifulLoser of these two teams Juve would rather face Dortmund
@neumi17 lol wtf is going on. First a soft penalty, then an ofside goal and now an own goal. Poor Dortmund.
Wonder why the word "terror" are not in the headlines yet? Three letters are found, all seemingly refering this attack to be an answer to german attacks with Tornado-planes in the war in Syria. One person is arrested, another suspect is still on the run, both are - according to german police - radical islamists. Is terror attacking Champions League?
@jesper What are you talking about? Type "Dortmund" and "terror" in Google News and filter to news from this week.
@dSquib Are Google News really all the news you need?
@jesper huh? Google News is an amalgamator of thousand of different sources
@dSquib No, Google News are the news Google wants to present to you estimated by a logarithm of all your prior searces, all of your recorded interests, all what Google think you are. It's not the news - it's the news Google thinks you want to see.
@jesper this doesn't contradict anything I said. In any case, you claimed the word "terror" wasn't being used by news outlets - I pointed you to evidence it was being used by thousands of them. I can't link to anything on here so I told you to search yourself.
@jesper Yes, its those crazy, fanatic muslims again, its official. Somebody will stop them soon...
@jesper Keep your political debates to yourself, now talk football. Auf Gehts BVB09
@postzegele I'm sorry, of course there is no politics involved in Champions League ... So I will talk football: Monaco will win. Wonder why?
@jesper - Because they are the better team?
@andrew7taylor Not sure about that - but today they will win, I guess
Difficult to say how the attack will affect on teams, especially Dortmund. The players are human after all and some can take it really hard so I wouldn't be surprised to see some unexpected changes in the line up. But hopefully they are able to focus on this game, both teams are very exiting and full of young talent.
Dortmund to win, may be Aubameyang Hat-trick would do.
Monaco will win, will score 2-3 or 2-4
ht/ft 2/1?
No way Dortmund can win after what happened.
Barta's hand got broken due to the explosion and he got surgery. So he is out for tonight which will be a big loss for Dortmund.
2-2 after that bomb, maybe it was Russian provocation as everything in this world is russian provocation lol
german police are really joke stating they can't confirm it was terrorist attack, of course not - it was girl with matches
Borussia Dortmund has confirmed that Bartra is in the hospital. Reports talk about three explosions near the bus. The game is settled to be played on Wednedday !8:45 according to Uefa
Reports says that the Dortmund-bus was hit by an explosion at the hotel when it was leaving, and Bartra was cut by pieces of glass. Other reports says the bus was hit twice
Damn to violence
game suspended.
@bluelight62 Thank you for your fast report!
Bomb explosion at bvb team bus/hotel. Batra in hospital.
why are people predicting dortmund when monaco are a much better team?
@Froce I think of playing indoors, and it's among the European elite. But I also think Monaco more team, at least this season the French are much better.
Dortmund 2-2 Monaco
1-4
@1097 lol
bts is very likely
@Zootball It is, that's why the odd for it is @1.40 but in my opinion those odds are not good to bet on.
Dortmund to win @ 3 - 1
Both team will want to keep chances for qualification for the second match, i don't see a lot of goals, should be a close match, 1-0 or 2-0 for dortmund.
3+ goals
I just can't see a Dortmund win here,if you are so accurate in your predictions then you must have been a billionaire by now.You stubborn peeps are the reason a football upset can't be forseen which of you commenters predicted arsenal loss yesterday
@vjavu7 Why do you post the same message twice, with 10 min difference...?
@neumi17 comments don't always show up straight away after hitting post, maybe he re wrote it as couldn't see his first message
2-1
I really can't just see Dortmund winning this.Forget home advantage,if the ucl went exactly as you all predicted then by now you will know the winner. You all talk like Monaco absolutely stand no chance. If you are all that confident about no upset, even with arsenal erratic form who predicted Crystal palace to bash arsenal.I believe Monaco will edge this, regardless of home or away
@vjavu7 In two games shure. But why would Monaco win in Dortmund?
B.DORTMUND 3 : 2 MONACO.....GL
@zardonic Sounds realistically
comfortable win for borrusia, i'll go 4-0 like they trashed benfica out from CL
@SomalianPirates I guess you didn't watch that match, you just checked the final score, because Benfica had so many chances to turn the game around when it was 1-0 but just didn't had the luck, plus 1 goal of Dortmund was offside, all together it gives an fake score. Oh and everygame has a new story and the score doesn't really have to express the quality of the teams or whatever. Sporting is weaker than Benfica and only lost by 1-0 in Dortmund, for example :)
@SomalianPirates you can't compare Benfica with Monaco, Monaco is way ahead of Benfica and Falcao is likely to score tonight.
@SomalianPirates Monaco are way better then Benfica...
@zardonic @Abdulski97 here is the thing, dortmund plays differntly when it comes to CL. They might have lost chance to win bundesliga so now they focus on winning this competition. Tonight we will see how hungry they are and the scoreline will be 3-0 or 4-0.
You have to fancy Dortmund at home. Dortmund win
Not a 4-2 to Dortmund @Whoscored
I'm going to say 2-2 I think. I see the game between Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco was 3-0, but it was an even contest. Even 5-3 loss to Man City is a very strange scoreline on paper with Man City only having 10 shots to Monaco's 15. This is my reasoning anyway, difficult game to predict
@Ideas This game is very hard to predict. Dortmund has been up and down all season and haven't found a stable formation yet. The team is very young and unexperienced plus it heavily depends on the magic of Dembele and Aubameyang. They also are very fragile in defence still. Tuchel openly admited that they didn't stand a chance in their defeat against Bayern and couldn't keep up on that level. So the outcome of this game today is in the stars. Most likely both teams score and Dortmund escapes with a small victory.
Here's my BOLD prediction - there won't be that many goals this time. First this always seems to happen in games when lots of goals are predicted, whether psychologically players decide to be a little more cagey or not I don't know. Do they want to get involved in an 8-goal slugfest? Maybe not. Second, Moutinho may bring a bit more control and possession to Monaco and Glik and Jemerson are back together. Also aside from the unsurprising thrashing by Bayern, Dortmund's defence seems a *little* more solid recently. So we'll see. Predix? 2-1 Dortmund.
Marco Reus is healthy and can play against Monaco.
@neumi17 Its amazing for what you get downvoted here these days...
2-3
@j2s007 Nah, Monaco don't stand a change away from home
4:2
BVB should analyse the match between Man City and Monaco.
@vismitananda They probably did that and also analysed all the other matches of Monaco in CL and some Ligue 1 matches. Plus Dortmund is a team, Manchester City is a group of players that gather in a field.
Teams like Ingolstadt just cash one goal against BVB. Monaco have its chance, but plus the Champion's League motivation of BVB, that will make them a bit stronger, Monaco can loose (with 1 goal to the max I suppose) or strike off the draw. The score will only depend of which opportunity of which team will be successfull, and it may swing between both teams. For me, the probabilities are: BVB: 30%, D: 50%, ASM: 20%. Over 3.5 goals or even +4.5 goals.
@DianMa I would say 70% for Dortmund to win this match, 27% for draw and 3% for Monaco
3-3 or 3-2 for Dortmund. Trust me !
@DianMa 0-0 or 1-0 or 2-0 or 1-1 or 2-2 or 3-2 or 2-3, or 4-4 or 1-2 trust me
2-1
Pulisic Dembele and Mbappe, what an interesting young talent
Monaco can't win away against BVB but not 4-1 =====> very Much
BVB 4-1 Monaco
