The whole Liverpool defense line is a joke...and not only the defense line but the midfield as well since they should be the "first line of defense"...I mean in general defensively Liverpool is hilarious. It is easy to point at one player like Lovren who is far of being the perfect defender but let's be serious...this same Liverpool lost 5-0 against Man City when he wasn't playing so it's not just one player. Liverpool is just defensively incredibly poor for some reason and obviously the reasons are much deeper. All these defense players, especially Matip and Lovren are really decent players with good potential but either there is some miscommunication there or I don't know what...ofc the one to blame for this hilarious defense by ALL the players is clearly on Klopp...
You can argue that all 4 Spurs goals came from crap Liverpool defending, 3 certainly did, and it could've been even better for them prior to Liverpool scoring with Son hitting the bar. It is impossible to devise a game-plan which accounts for, and negates, individual errors from your players but the fact Liverpool defended too high is down to Klopp and that created problems in itself on a big Wembley pitch with the type of players Spurs have and the type of CBs Liverpool have. It must be frustrating for Reds fans seeing their side go from the sublime to the ridiculous with minimal difference in personnel.
Please whoscored exchange Salah and continho positions. Or look at the heat map to know where they play..very good job from pock he used Alli in the second half as a DM. Kane deserves 11 of 10
Liverpool as deluded as ever thinking they'd scrape anything from this match. All that possession but toothless in all aspects of their game. Spurs really showing their class and how professional they can be, made Liverpool look like school kids. Unsurprising result.
I can't believe people actually thought Liverpool would win because of records or superstitious nonsense like Wembley. If you had looked at and compared the two sides you would've clearly seen that Spurs are far superior, and the likes of Kane would destroy Liverpool's woeful defence. Seriously 1-3? Loooool
how to play against Liverpool: just wait for their top class defence to clear the ball in style. they will not fail you. what a terrible joke... they need to hire a 2nd coach to learn defending basics. unbelievable.
Pochettino is the most tactically interesting manager in the league. 3-5-2 with Winks, Eriksen and Alli in the midfield with Kane and Son up front? Makes sense to match Liverpool in the midfield like for like
What the hell, why is everyone predicting a Liverpool win? What are they basing it on, the Wembley factor? Even if there was some sort of Wembley hoodoo, don't you think that will be negated by the confidence Spurs will be feeling after their impressive performance in Madrid? Disregarding all the possible factors, Spurs are superior in every position on the pitch. Anything can happen in football though but logic dictates a Spurs win
@ilovefooty Klopp's records against the top 6; Dembelle, Davies, and Wanyama unavailable; last year Liverpool caused Spurs more problems than any other side; and Tottenham still not doing particularly well at Wembley.
@ilovefooty Last year Tottenham took three points off Chelsea in the leagues and ended their unbeaten run. Tottenham did not take three points off Liverpool.
@MEHJones Unbeaten run LOL, three points LOL, top 6 records LOL. Chelsea denied Spurs two major TROPHIES. I know you're not familiar with them but they are the only thing that matter in football
@ilovefooty We are discussing how Livepool and Spurs will do against each other on the pitch in a one off match. Therefore, I was referring to last year's performances in one off matches. Pull up the stats for the two league games from last year between Liverpool and Spurs and compare them to the two league games between Spurs and Chelsea. Better still watch the games again. Overall, Liverpool caused Spurs more problems. No contest.
Spurs high press + Wembley, play perfect for Liverpool, high press football, Liverpool miss chances against teams that sit back, spurs will not and as solid as Spurs are, they always struggle against Liverpool, so a 3-1 win for Liverpool.
@ilovefooty- The score?... maybe not- given Spurs rarely concede 3, but a Liverpool win is well within the realms of possibility when you take into account their record against the rest of 'top 6' teams; the fact Klopp's tactics, notably his counter-pressing/attacking, works very well against those who come out and play; the fact Spurs' league record at Wembley this season is poor (only 1 win, that coming against Bournemouth who have the second worst away record in the league) and the record between these two teams in general is heavily in Liverpool's favour.
@SteveHyland The same rationale could be applied to the City game and look what happened. And don't use red card as an excuse, because they conceded before Mane's sending off
@ilovefooty- And Liverpool could've scored prior to City scoring their first but I don't see what a one-off game has to do with an overall record. I'm not saying Spurs can't win, I'm saying Liverpool are more likely to if there is a winner and that against the rest of the top 6, they are the best team. The stats prove it.
@ilovefooty Not exactly because Man City aren't playing at Wembley this season, have a better home record, and didn't have Dembelle, Davies, and Wanyama out injured.
I'll go for Spurs to win the game as for them they have more depth in the squad, solid defence and quick players that they can hurt Liverpool defence with Kane up front and Delli run behind the defenders with Eriksen vision, as for Liverpool they have no depth in the squad and for the attakcing three (Coutinho, Firmino and Salah) they had no rest after the international fixutures besides that they miss a loads of chances we all know Liverpool have a shaky defence and goalkeeper.
If Tottenham played like they did in Madrid for sure they'll win
As long as Davies or Rose are fit to start the match, I expect to see a dramatically different result from their last fixture at Anfield.. With Liverpool's high press and lackluster back-line I expect Tottenham to score some goals. So far they have struggled to break down teams at Wembley that have sat deep in their own half (Swansea, Bournemouth, Burnley) but I think the switch to attack-minded opposition will prove beneficial to them. Tottenham's backline should keep Liverpool quiet. Mane had Davies in his pocket in the last fixture but Davies was inexperienced and hadn't had much of a run in the team. Since that match he has improved dramatically. Spurs were without Vertonghen last time and had Dier playing out of position at CB to cover him. They have acquired Davinson Sanchez, whom should provide the pace needed to cover Liverpool's attack. You can't ignore Harry Kane and even Christian Eriksen's goal-scoring form, but I could see Dele getting on the scoresheet as well. Spurs win
Since 8th Aug 2015, over 84 matches, only seven teams have beaten Spurs in the EPL: Newcastle Utd, Leicester, Chelsea, Southampton, Manchester United, West Ham, and Liverpool. Regardless of what happens in Madrid I'm expecting Liverpool to beat them again.
Very happy to see that Mauricio Pochettino once again can learn from his mistakes and that my pessimism for this match was uncalled for. :)
@MEHJones Most promising manager in the world tbh, there's no way Guardiola could do what Pochettino has done at Spurs
@ilovefooty I tend to agree but I'm quite happy for Pochettino and Spurs to be under estimated and ignored until they win something. :)
The whole Liverpool defense line is a joke...and not only the defense line but the midfield as well since they should be the "first line of defense"...I mean in general defensively Liverpool is hilarious. Will Salah score - episode 2 :))
Please whoscored exchange Salah and continho positions. Or look at the heat map to know where they play..very good job from pock he used Alli in the second half as a DM. Kane deserves 11 of 10
i am sure liverpool wish they sold coutinho. yoh. otherwise barca should not buy him. they should go for thiago alacntara.
Utter morons on here. Make proper predictions, not want you hope will happen. Donks. Harry Kane is the best pure number 9 in the world bar none.
Liverpool as deluded as ever thinking they'd scrape anything from this match. All that possession but toothless in all aspects of their game. Spurs really showing their class and how professional they can be, made Liverpool look like school kids. Unsurprising result.

Now 5-3-1-1 (Y)
Kane is the second best player in the world right now ,come from a liverpool fan
@hbkmimo I think so too after Messi
how to play against Liverpool: just wait for their top class defence to clear the ball in style. they will not fail you. what a terrible joke... they need to hire a 2nd coach to learn defending basics. unbelievable.
I don't think Liverpool is gonna win high anymore...
Is there anything Kane can't do? Both footed, deceptively quick, powerful... World class player
Bad move on Klopp's part for not reinforcing the defense and GK, hope he doesn't get the sack.
Liverpool defense and goalkeeper are so so awesome! :D
@afx aphex twin fan ? :D
@VBS.Redlof.B yes! of course! :))
LOL at all the clueless idiots who predicted Liverpool to win. You know who you are.
@ilovefooty Happy idiots some of us, thank you :)
You could put a traffic cone in front of goal and have more confident goalkeeping than Mignolet
no mistake for Gomez?
Pochettino is the most tactically interesting manager in the league. 3-5-2 with Winks, Eriksen and Alli in the midfield with Kane and Son up front? Makes sense to match Liverpool in the midfield like for like
Spurs win 3-1

@MEHJones I think Chelsea caused you more problems, pal
@ilovefooty Last year Tottenham took three points off Chelsea in the leagues and ended their unbeaten run. Tottenham did not take three points off Liverpool.
@MEHJones Unbeaten run LOL, three points LOL, top 6 records LOL. Chelsea denied Spurs two major TROPHIES. I know you're not familiar with them but they are the only thing that matter in football
@ilovefooty Last year in the league: Spurs vs Liverpool: P2 W0 D1 L1 gf1 ga3 and vs Chelsea P2 W1 D0 L1 gf3 ga2.
@ilovefooty We are discussing how Livepool and Spurs will do against each other on the pitch in a one off match. Therefore, I was referring to last year's performances in one off matches. Ever noticed how often that Everton vs Arsenal happens on the same weekend as Tottenham vs Liverpool?
Heart says Spurs will nick another win but head says Spurs will lose 2-1.
spurs 1 - 3 Liverpool
Spurs high press + Wembley, play perfect for Liverpool, high press football, Liverpool miss chances against teams that sit back, spurs will not and as solid as Spurs are, they always struggle against Liverpool, so a 3-1 win for Liverpool.
@javicueto But when was the last time Spurs let in 3 goals? If Spurs lose, 2-1 is a lot more likely.
@javicueto Lol
@ilovefooty- Why "lol"? What he said makes sense.....
@SteveHyland Yep 1-3 Liverpool away to a superior team makes total sense
@ilovefooty- The score?... maybe not- given Spurs rarely concede 3, but a Liverpool win is well within the realms of possibility when you take into account their record against the rest of 'top 6' teams; the fact Klopp's tactics, notably his counter-pressing/attacking, works very well against those who come out and play; the fact Spurs' league record at Wembley this season is poor (only 1 win, that coming against Bournemouth who have the second worst away record in the league) and the record between these two teams in general is heavily in Liverpool's favour.

@hjb Some very excellent positive points!
x2. Think this will end in a draw. 2-2
Tottenham were excellent against Madrid but I still think Liverpool will win this one. I hope I am wrong.
