Man City very vulnerable in defence. They somehow managed to concede 2 from just few attacks from West Brom+2 good headers missed from Rondon and Krychowiak. Stones and Otamendi were very solid but anyway each of them made 1 mistake that lead to goal. Game with Napoli will show, and really looks City will struggle there.
Don’t understand why Agüero is benched in this match - with an upcoming visit to Napoli on Wednesday. Is it just because Pep doesn’t like him? IMO he is still a great striker but he seems to be Pep’s second choice - though his stats are better than the ones of Jesus. Anyone knows why it is so? Mayby it’s all on believe - maybe Pep has become a Reborn Christian after the arrival of Jesus ... :-)
@jesper Agüero is Pep's first priority striker, check the statistics - he has only been benched (from the start) twice: The first time against Bournemouth for rotation purposes and against West Brom. He played 120 minutes midweek in the cup tie against Wolves and didn't want to risk any injuries because, as we know, Agüero is injury prone and usually stays out for a long time when he's injured. Even though Jesus is good, Agüero is on another level as he singlehandedly can shift the momentum in a game - and Pep is very aware of that. So no, Pep has a lot of confidence in him and knows the Agüero is a key player that can contribute to a title-winning season. Jesus will be his predecessor for City, but no, that "benching" was just precautionary.
Man City are a team looking like champions and play like champions. Their players are confident and not over confident and looks to win every game. If WBA park a bus, City may only win 2-0 but if WBA opens up, its going to be 4-0.
I believe West Brom will inflict first loss of the season to City here! City favourites all over but I just believe is the normal epl cycle of teams having shockers! We saw Chelsea at Palace a few days ago, Arsenal at Watford. United at Huddersfield and the embarrassment of Liverpool in Wembley and 3 days later the same embarrassing of Spurs vs West Ham! I’m going for West Brom here. 1:0/2:1
