  • City lacked last pass in the game, that was really weird for that class of players like Silva and De Bruyne. They could have closed the game in the 1st half. What Sterling did in the first half was really ridiculous, the worst game for him in the season so far. When 3rd goal Arsenal players just stopped as if it was 3m offside, they are to blame themselves. Anyway that was the 3rd game in a row when City are not that convincing.

  • Can't argue with the result. The penalty on Sterling was soft and the goal was offside but they still deserved to win. We played ok in passages but these were overshadowed by the periods of the game where it seemed nobody could control the ball or put a run of passes together.

  • Arsenal fans will complain about the referee but they were outclassed by City. Ozil is absolutely shocking, no idea how Arsenal fans have the audacity to compare him with Silva. Bit worrying that City were actually poor today yet still swept Arsenal aside with ease

  • @ilovefooty- They aren't comparable because they are completely different types of player but Oezil creates more. Since the '13/14 season, he has created 342 chances in 99 games whereas Silva has created 270 in 101. That is a huge difference- 78 chances per 100 games. Oezil has flaws which hardly endear him to Arsenal fans, but the biggest issue is the players around him. Since joining Arsenal, he has never had a CM who can link defence & attack AND a clinical striker at the same time. He had both at Real Madrid and was almost unanimously regarded as the best #10 in the world. We have a clinical striker on the bench. One who, in the last 5 seasons, has a league conversion rate of 25.53%. Messi's, for comparison, is19.59%. He also happened to link up with Oezil and Alexis very well against Everton but Wenger decides to play Iwobi out wide and Alexis up front instead. We still don't have a linking box-to-box CM despite it being obvious we needed one. I don't see the point of this XI tbh.

  • @ilovefooty *Silva and De Bruyne

  • @ilovefooty Ozil might be lost a bit, but that's because Arsenal don't know how to use him. They don't give him the ball anywhere near enough. If they aren't going to then he may as well be on bench

  • @Champion he's at the wrong club and doesn't suit playing wide or in a front 3 but that doesn't excuse giving the ball away constantly. Seriously he was terrible, worst performance I've ever seen from him

  • @ilovefooty "giving the ball away constantly"? which game you are talking about.. the above stat tells, he lost possession only twice! Am I missing some information?

  • You are made to wonder why Arsene Wenger had to bench Lacazette in the first instance.

  • @spafu He should have put Ozil on bench

  • @spafu I wouldn't have started him either. He misses a lot of chances and seems to have a poor understanding with his teammates. He did score today, but that was a huge surprise for me, to be honest. I don't rate him. He might get better, but right now, he's doesn't impress.

  • clear offside

  • @MessiGOAT play to the whistle tho

  • @MessiGOAT @daconrad15 Arsenal fans are going to feel really hard done by. But there had been a few wrong offside decisions already so the Arsenal players should have stayed aware instead of stopping.

  • Hope arsenal does me proud

  • @archival 2-0 already, what proud?

  • Hope arsenal does me proud

  • #COYG we can hold our head high today, let's do it.

  • City will not win today...Arsenaln double chance

  • @delpiero1100 The expert is speaking...

  • @neumi17 lol

  • Man city Los

  • Man City 1:3 Arsenal

  • @MMUNILU Perfect Prediction, LOL =)))

  • Man City are more than capable of scoring a hat full against Arsenal. However, Arsenal have a good record against Man City and as we saw in the FA Cup semi final this year are very capable of winning when not expected to. I hope that I'm wrong but I'm going to say City 2-3 Arsenal

  • It would be an eight point lead for Man City, assuming they beat Arsenal and Man United lose at Chelsea - not nine points.

  • Sane with 15 scorerpoints in his last 13 appearances or 857 min. He scores or assists every 57 minutes in average. So will he do tomorrow. 1 goal, 1 assist ...

  • 2-2

  • 3 - 0 ?

  • Aguero is going to receive a guard of honour for becoming Manchester City's record goalscorer but whoscored haven't even predicted him to start? Lol

  • @ilovefooty 2 striker system means city is going to try something new tm since the only 2 striker system weve played is 3ATB which is no longer possible, maybe 4312 or 4222 against arsenal

  • @williamcjj Jesus plays wide sometimes

  • The suggested City line-up and match analysis doesn't make a lot of sense. Conspicuous by his absence - Sergio Aguero. Not even mentioned among missing players.

  • city 0 - 1 Arsenal sanchez to score .

  • It's basically written in the stars that this will be a crazy game with both sides playing beautifying, pure and magnificent football - and most importantly: both sides playing true attacking football. The City side have been running rampant for most of the season, averaging over 3 goals per match and truly coming to form as a Guardiola side. The likes of Sané, Jesus and Sterling have really upped their game and the Don Dada of City - Agüero, is in terrific shape. De Bruyne and Silva are really the commanding maestros in that midfield and the marauding fullbacks (Walker, Danilo & Delph) are truly adding to the overall synergy. Arsenal have the scintillating attacking force consisting of the world-class winger, Sanchez, the magician Özil and the technical Lacazette - but that's about the only thing going for them. Their form is questionable and their defence is looking unorganised at times. Expect this game to have lots of action in it, but only one will finish imperious: Man City 5-2.

  • @ZuberiMamba We also have to consider that City's defence is looking way more organised than Arsenal's. Otamendi and Stones launching slicing balls into the midfield - Walker marauding the left hand side as well as Delph waving in and out of midfield contributing to the attacking prowess of City. Even though Arsenal have a good record against City, we can't ignore the limited qualities of Xhaka and Elneny. Usually plays very well, but Arsenal will need to soak up the pressure against City if they are to get a result (meaning that they need a recognised DM which implicates either Xhaka or Ramsey on the bench). City are conceding goals, but Arsenal are conceding far more goals and with a defence consisting of Monreal (left-back), Mertesacker (physical, but slow and lethargic) and Koscielny (intelligent, but inconsistent) - it is very hard to see how they are going to cope with the likes of Agüero, Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne running them down at full speed.

  • @ZuberiMamba- The fact we know we will have to play a counter attacking game will help focus the mind. Ramsey knows he has to sit deeper than he naturally would otherwise City's midfield will take the mick and Xhaka's medium & long-range passing is far better than his short range. We can put together some brutal counter-attacks if on form but it requires Alexis and Oezil play well and provide Lacazette (who's movement has been amazing this season, but isn't always picked up by TV cameras unfortunately) with the type of passes he craves. I still see errors-out-of-nowhere when I look at Stones and Otamendi but getting to them on a regular enough occasion to put them under pressure when City will have 65% of the ball is going to be difficult. I think the problems we have are ones which could have easily been addressed in the summer, but weren't. Ultimately they are the ones which could (and I believe will) result in a City win. Hope I am wrong though, obviously.

  • @SteveHyland Good reflection. Stones has stepped up his game massively and he has been playing well this season in Kompany's absence. I don't think he has committed an error that has led to an opponent having a chance at goal and his ball playing is magnificent. Otamendi has adopted the nickname "The General" because of his amazing defensive performances. He tackles well, he isn't afraid to go "toe-to-toe" with anyone and plays with purified vigour. The only thing that scares me a little is that it looks as if he is going to kill somebody; he gets aggressive and can commit some questionable tackles. I would totally agree if we had Kolarov and Sagna as our fullbacks, but the acquisition of Walker has changed everything. Pressurising us doesn't do anything because everyone in that back 4 plays with real balls. There is no signs of hesitation because everyone are so sound with their distribution. After Napoli failing to break us down like that, I can't see us conceding more than 2.

  • Easy one, City! 4-1.

  • @StickandMove Pretty close!

  • City 2 -1 The Arsenal

  • Given the same City squad return to Manchester on Thursday morning and will go training only sat and half a day Sunday and Arsenal’s probably CO vs City will not participate in Europa at all! I believe Arsenal can turn up fresh and really upset the odds against City! We are seeing shocking scores all over Europe this season domestic and European. City seem to be all out attacking but are also leaking goals in last few games! Fact is Arsenal have a very good record against City. Wenger has the actual squad at his disposal to go Etihad and win the game! The current squad are in fact blowing hot and cold and are inconsistent. City hot favourites for the tie but I wouldn’t bet on them winning the game! Arsenal can beat any top team on their day! Arsenal can beat this really in-form City side and lose their next home game to likes of Burnley or Crystal Palace. That’s how Wenger inspires his players nowadays. Tie will see both teams to score surely and probably a narrow win for either side!

  • Arsenal to win

  • @shakes Shakes shakes head.

  • Pundits are talking about Arsenal's attacking players like they will be the difference in this game. I'm thinking City's midfield and how they link up with THEIR attacking players will be the difference. I'm not a perfect predictor of Prem games, but if I had a choice between Jesus and Lacazette for my team, I'd laugh at you, pick Jesus, and wonder what was wrong with you for rating Lacazette at all.

  • @vfx_superstar Forget Jesus. I'd pick God for all my games.

  • @uefalona Me, too. But he plays for Barcelona and doesn't seem likely to leave. :)
