Team News

  • Steve Sidwell remains Chris Hughton's only injury concern ahead of Saturday's welcome of Chelsea.
  • The Seagulls boss could name the same XI the started the 2-0 loss to West Brom last time out.
  • Ross Barkley is still working his way back to full fitness for Chelsea and is unlikely to be available to start against Brighton.
  • Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill have both been confirmed as injured by Antonio Conte, while Danny Drinkwater and Thibaut Courtois are huge doubts for the away side.
  • Alvaro Morata and Pedro are suspended after their respective dismissals against Norwich on Wednesday night.

  • A run of just one win from the last 12 has seen Brighton drop towards the bottom three, with the Seagulls now just three points above the relegation zone. At home, however, they have lost just twice all season, with both defeats coming at the hands of Manchester City and Liverpool.
  • Chelsea required penalties to overcome Norwich and secure a spot in the next round of the FA Cup on Wednesday night after Jamal Lewis' late strike forced extra time at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have now drawn their last five competitive outings in 90 minutes, though haven't lost a match since a 1-0 defeat at West Ham last month.
  • Chelsea won the return fixture 2-0, but goals could be hard to come by in Saturday's early kick off.

  • Brighton haven't beaten Chelsea in 85 years and that doesn't look likely to change right now.

  • @MEHJones Never post information you are not sure about it

  • @MEHJones Brighton beat Chelsea in 2012 friendly match

  • @Cannavaro69 Haha, obviously I meant in competitive matches. It's possible Brighton have also beaten Chelsea in a testimonial or reserves match.

  • This season in the EPL Chelsea have scored the most headers whereas Brighton have conceded the most. That does not bode well for the Seagulls as much as I'd like them to get something from this game. :/

  • @MEHJones Considering most of the headers came from Morata, that really doesn't matter

  • @mcpvp42 true.

  • There can't possible be a draw so I'll advice u keep off the scoreline although definitely an X2 (Chelsea win or draw) ; rather over 8.5-9 corners, under 4 cards and home team with most cards. Like Arsenal this another dicey. Match

  • * just predict

  • @Aei If there can't be a draw, why did you just say predict a Chelsea win or draw?

  • @Aei I will try the corner tip , it looks a possible win to me

  • @Aei Nice betting tips....thank you buddy

  • I think the whilian hazard and batshuayi can do better than the two Spaniards (morata and Pedro) ..they can do it today

  • Antonio Conte wants to sign Peter Crouch !! ha ha ha ha ha he is really insane

  • @Cannavaro69 Yes, they can. The board signed Rudiger and Bakayoko without Conte wanting them, for example. They also sold Matic behind his back. The only Conte transfers out of all the summer ones were Morata and Zappacosta.

  • @Cannavaro69 When are you idiots going to realise that Conte is not responsible for the transfers? He is only the first team head coach, he is not a manager. The board is responsible for the transfers.

  • @splint3r You think yourself know everything?! You are the only idiot here , Chelsea cant sign Crouch if Conte doesnt want him

  • @Cannavaro69 Not all u read u deem important, guess the press capitalized on Chelsea's frailties upfront! Dzeko and possibly that Roma left back look more realistic

  • @Aei , why would Dzeko leave Roma to play for a club who keeps changing its manager because it’s one man army board can’t get along with any manager for long? Crouch is the ideal signing because Conte himself will leave next season , by the time crouch will retire ;)

  • @footballover lol

  • Tough time for Chelsea but i think Chelsea can do it and win

  • chelsea to win 2-0 or 2-1

  • 0-5.. Chelsea wins

  • Brighton 1 - 0 Chelsea

  • Chelsea To Win 3 1

  • upset win

  • @angelo44 how can a win be upset? you mean the win is crying?

  • @uefalona LMAO

  • @uefalona 1X Chelsea won't win

  • Brighton 0 - 2 Chelsea

  • @Overmars I like you when you predict

  • Home draws have put Brighton in serious danger of relegation unless they replace these dropped points.

  • BREAKING: Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is having a medical at Stamford Bridge after being linked with a £30m bid for West Ham striker Andy Carroll. ;)

  • @MEHJones He needs another hair transplant

  • @MEHJones , wow wow wow ! What a signing !

  • @MEHJones lol
