  • Lucas Moura is available for Tottenham after he was forced to miss the FA Cup win over Newport.
  • All in all, Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino has no injury concerns.
  • Toby Alderweireld played the full 90 minutes against Newport, with his availability a boost for Pochettino.
  • Petr Cech and Nacho Monreal were forced off in the 5-1 win over Everton. The former trained on Friday with the rest of the team, though, and is in line to start at Wembley.
  • Danny Welbeck is also an option for Arsene Wenger, though the Gunners boss will hope to name the same XI that started the trouncing of the Toffees.
  • Santi Cazorla is Wenger's only other injury concern here.

Prediction

  • Tottenham come into this one having secured a 2-0 win over Newport to book a place in the next round of the FA Cup and attention turns to Saturday's early kick off. The hosts are unbeaten in their last 11 competitive matches, winning seven, and are unbeaten in their last three at home against Arsenal in the league, winning two.
  • Arsenal defeated Tottenham 2-0 when these two met in November at the Emirates Stadium and while on home turf, the Gunners are solid, away from home, they've struggled. Arsene Wenger's side have won only one of their last eight competitive games on the road, with their away league form leaving little to be desired.
  • Mauricio Pochettino will hope fatigue from midweek doesn't set in, but having rested the core of his squad, that won't be the case on Saturday. Arsenal will be keen to improve their away form, but Tottenham could see out the three points in what should be an entertaining encounter at Wembley.

  • Spurs deserved it. I thought we did ok in the first half. The tactics were clear, I don't agree with them but they were carried out reasonably well. The second half, however, was terrible barring the final 5 minutes. They could've scored more and should've. We looked disinterested, which is appalling when you consider this is THE fixture(s) for Arsenal fans. I look at the team and think it is more about Wenger's failings (this game for example saw us defend a high line against a top counter attacking team and regularly get caught out) than personnel, but we still need a few players for whoever is the manager next season can have a team good enough to carry out what is asked. We could get away with 3 but realistically we need 4 to come into the first team.

  • Wenger...

  • Well done Spurs! Job done.

  • Cech wasn't MOTM, it should be Dembele.

  • @Skrong- Kane for me. I'm not one to always give it to the player who has the countable stats (because often they can be misleading) but excluding his goal, he worked extremely hard today- never made life easy for our CBs, was excellent at holding the ball up and ran the channels/defended when needed. Pretty much the perfect #9 performance. Dembele set the tone well in midfield but Kane was MotM for me. Sanchez also played very well. His 7 rating and Dier's 7.9 indicative of how poorly the algorithm caters for defensive ability/skills imo, the countable ones at least. Positioning will never be quantifiable.

  • @SteveHyland I think I'd pick Dembele or Kane but the whole Spurs team played well - certainly better than in the away fixture.

  • @SteveHyland I'm not Dier's biggest fan but he made some very important contributions.

  • @MEHJones- It was the difference in rating rather than Dier getting a 7.9 in itself I took issue with. I would have given Dier a solid 7, in which case I think Sanchez should receive something like a 7.5 but he is the second-lowest-rated starting outfield player. I like the idea of an objective ratings system, and this site in general, but if it flies in the face of what we witness then the system could use tweaking imo. Cech being MotM for example.

  • so Cech going to be whoscored's MOTM?!!

  • Auba 23 touches

  • @neumi17 Reus is back, go watch the game bro. MSM

  • @MathCatsFootball I am

  • Wow. Arsenal just really play in last 4 min !!

  • oh Lamela is the one that got in... should hev been 3-0 by now anyways a win is a win.

  • Sorry, but is it just me that find Arsenal's game reaaally suspicious? They're trailing by one goal in one of the fierest derbies and they're doing absolutely nothing?! Just walking and giving the ball extremely easy back to Tottenham when they win it....

  • @specter Nah Tottenham were pressing and covering the field well today. Arsenal midfield had hard time coming out of the midfield without passing back.

  • with Lucas Moura coming in now..definitely Tot win no chance for Arsenal....Arsenal good team but the manager is old school, cannot cut it...

  • pretty boring first half

  • Aubameyang does exactly two kind of goals, tap ins , preferably chips, and headers from close range. Despite his speed he can't beat opponents 1-1 ,even when they don't move and he can't shoot from more than 8 Meters either. He has never scored a goal outside of the box. Also get used to it, that Aubameyang won't participate in combination play and defence. He will wait in front of the goal for balls to tap in and accumulate around 20-25 touches a game. If you deliver him good passes, he will score but don't expect anything else. And I mean it literally...

  • @neumi17 You must not watch Dortmund very often. If you want to look up any highlight reel of his goals you'll quickly learn that he doesn't just score headers from close range and tap-ins. A few years ago (when he first joined Dortmund) he also scored a free kick outside the box. You don't just score 30 goals in a league season just from having good service.

  • @rhysdesmond47 Yes, you do only score 30 goals a season when you have a good service, if your name is Aubameyang. Today was a good example and a normal game for him.

  • @neumi17 Any team in the world would want a player who scores 30 goals a season. Are you kidding me? It doesn't matter how you score them just as it doesn't matter how you win, as long as you win. That's coming from a Barca fan! Ask any manager and unless they are an idealist, they'd take Aubameyang any day.

  • @neumi17 So what ..? lot of strikers play with such a style, like Klose, Inzaghi. M. Gomez, and Nistelrooy.

  • @Yman True, but they are at least physically strong, protect the ball and do lay offs for others. Aubameyang is not that type of striker, he doesn't control a high ball with his back facing the goal. He only works if you leave him out of combination play completely and and create chances,so that he only has to put his foot on the ball. He is really good in positioning.

  • @neumi17 Dude whats with all the hate? I guess youre not a fan of Borussia Dortmund like me because Auba was amazing for us the last years and scored nearly at will even via free kick sometimes. One of the best forwards the Bundesliga has ever seen! Wish him all the best in London!

  • @neumi17 Sounds a lot like Ronaldo. Except Ronaldo does score goals from outside the box, albeit he needs about 50 shots per goal.

  • Ramesy's missing is a blow, I hoped he could play finally alongside Wilshere. I'm not so excited of both Elneny and Xhaka starting, although it should offer at least some cover in our midfield. Very interesting to see how Miki, Özil and Auba will do up front. Neither team is in great form so this could be quite tight match. I'd go for 2-2, but I can't help feeling this match is decided by an error of either Xhaka or Dier.

  • arsenal to win by 3-0.two goals from aubameyang

  • @olayinka Aubameyang only plays in one position on the field while 49% of the team are championship rejects... GO TEAM WENGER, hahahahahaha, fastforwad 3 years and both Lacazette and Auba wil be refusing to extend again...

  • May the gods of Watford be with Arsenal.

  • @Asunadee lol

  • I hope arsenal beats this bunch of diver and cheater, 1- 3 arsenal wins

  • @pasopati obviously ur hope is cheaper by the dozen,,, gunners going down down down today.

  • @pasopati I pray with you

  • @pasopati Yeaaah

  • Tottenham win.... with defender Toby Alderweireld back and if Kane gets going its a sure home win... Arsenal struggles at the back..

  • @donmilz Toby Alderweireld doesnt play today

  • 1X&over 1,5

  • Arsenal loved Wembley and Wembleeeee loved Arsenal. Perfect match made in heaven. No brainer this one, Arsenal 3-2.

  • By the stats totten is better. But i want arsenal to win this lol.

  • I hate to say this, but Arsenal will not lose today.

  • @babyenot I like you when you are so confident

  • @babyenot agree

  • ars win 2-1

  • The result depends on whether the ref will help Spurs and Kane

  • @tzenix 85% ref will assist Kane and Spurs

  • @tzenix lol

  • Draw 2-2

  • I either have to wake up crazy early to see this, or simply not go to bed. Getting the coffee pot ready! I'm expecting goals, drama, and controversy. Or, more accurately, I'm hoping for all that. So many "big games" in the PL have been dull and low-scoring. I'd like a contest!

  • I think even if Arsenal had 11 Ozils they would still have no chance against Tottenham at Wembley. 2-0 my prediction

  • 3:2 kane to score

  • BTTS seems a good bet for this game. Tottenham have the usual attacking power and Arsenal should be boosted by the transfers of Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan and with Lacazette and Ozil as options + a fierce London derby, it should be a very intriguing game. Probably Over 2.5 goals as well.

  • arsenal to win 3 -0 " Auba X3 " made by Mikhi

  • The opposite is true.. In fact Arsenal to win with a 1 goal margin... Or 2 DNB

  • I'm going for an upset here, Arsenal to win.

  • Arsenal win...

  • If my Spurs don't win this game,I will support Juve on Wednesday, mark my words Pochettino...Jeventus!!!!

  • If my Spurs don't win this game,I will support Juve on Wednesday, mark my words Pochettino...Jeventus!!!!

  • @Philamntha lol , you start to support them from today ...FORZA JUVEE !!!!!

  • Arsenal to roast Spurs. 2:3 in favour of Arsenal

  • WhoScored is extremely poor at Premier League predictions. I'm sure they just look at the odds & go with whatever the bookies say. When was the last time this site predicted an upset? Spurs are the bookies favourite. In fact, ALL of WhoScored's EPL predictions for this weekend are in line with the bookies! Not a single upset predicted.

  • @Red_Card Spurs win by a goal so Whoscored.com was mainly correct.

  • @Red_Card So who you think will win?

  • Spurs 3 - 1 Arsenal

  • Since switching to a back 4, it has been evident that we aren't really set up to defend. Against Everton, despite the attacking brilliance, we were highly suspect to the counter attack (luckily Walcott showed why he isn't a striker and squandered their best first half chance). Spurs showed against Dortmund on this same, large, Wembley pitch that they are potent counter attackers. It seems like Kane always scores against us and without a true DM (Well, a good one...) I feel it is inevitable we will concede a couple. Derbies can sometimes be insipid affairs given their potential counterbalancing nature, but I live in hope this will be an entertaining watch. Our away form has been poor but being the players may not see this as an away game per se (may even see it as a home one :-p ), I will predict 2-2.

  • @SteveHyland What about Elneny as a DM? isn't he good enough?

  • @Cannavaro69- I feel bad about slagging him off because he is the one player I can guarantee tries his hardest every game but the fact is he is limited. Not a true DM, not a box-to-box CM etc. He recycles the ball well and when we are dominating, that is invaluable but in these type of games he has neither the defensive nous or passing ability to warrant a place in the team imho.

  • Spurs win & Kane score 1st.

  • @Geolardo 100% correct, well done.

  • Draw all day long.

  • @splint3r But a Tottenham win all night long?

  • 2-2 or 2-3 to Arsenal.

  • arsenal x2

  • Wanyama should come in for Dier.

  • @Champion What ever happened to Dier anyway? Has he peaked or is he still a prospect? I had higher hopes for that lad.

  • @Fromhell He have a new girlfriend he is hanging out with her

  • Spurs win.

  • This fixture often ends 1-1 regardless of form but, partly because I'll be at the match, I'm going to go for a crazy hockey match scoreline: Tottenham 4-3 Arsenal.

  • Arsenal wim for sure !

  • Tottenham 4 Arsenal 0..proper beatdown from Spurs and Ericson to score in 5 seconds COYS

  • Tottenham 4 Arsenal 0..proper beatdown from Spurs and Ericson to score in 5 seconds COYS

  • @Philamntha lunatic prediction

  • Arsenal dont lose games in Wembley. Arsenal win here and the divers at spurs to lose their heads!

  • @albgunn yeeaah

  • Lots of goals!

  • @vfx_superstar I hate everything.

  • Tottenham 2 penalties in extra time

  • @Asunadee those penalties were correct

  • @aymane.spur I agree. Especially the second. Garbage defending from van Dijk.

  • @Champion Agree?!?1 which match did you watched? Obvious its fake he made a dive

  • @Champion Lamela was offside for the second one so it was not.

  • Tottenham 2 - 0 Arsenal

  • Tottenham 2 - 1 Arsenal
