- Forest boss Aitor Karanka could bring new signing Juan Fuentas into the starting XI for his debut after Eric Lichaj was sent off against Burton Albion on Saturday.
- Liam Bridcutt is back available after making the bench at the weekend and will be pushing for a start here ahead of Ben Watson in midfield.
- Jack Hobbs and Chris Cohen remain injury concerns for the hosts heading into this clash.
- Reading boss Jaap Stam could make a host of changes for this trip to the City Ground, with Chris Martin pushing for his first start after notching off the bench against Boro over a week ago.
- John Swift and Omar Richards could both be involved after travelling with the squad to Spain for a mid-season training camp. Callum Harriott also travelled but is unlikely to feature.
- Joseph Mendes and Jordan Obita are both stepping up their rehabilitation from serious injuries, but there has been no word on the status of injured midfielder Stephen Quinn.
- Centre-backs Tommy Elphick and Paul McShane are both still sidelined, so we should see the Liam Moore-Tiago Ilori partnership in action once again here.
