Team News

  • Kevin Danso could get another chance at centre-back after Martin Hinteregger underwent surgery on his injured ankle.
  • Daniel Opare should recover from a muscle injury in time for kick-off.
  • Jonathan Schmid offers an option for rotation on either flank.
  • Waldemar Anton could also start at centre-back, with Florian Hübner dropping to the bench and an additional midfielder coming in.
  • Miiko Albornoz is fully fit again and challenges Matthias Ostrzolek for his spot at left-back.
  • Jonathas is fully fit again and could finally replace Niklas Füllkrug up front.

  • Augsburg have enjoyed a very strong start to the season and will want to make another statement after a 2-2 draw at Hoffenheim last weekend. They have improved on the attack after last season and should be able to put in another positive performance at home.
  • Hannover have started the season well, but have failed to win their last four matches and have to recover from back-to-back defeats. With several players back from injury, manager André Breitenreiter has options to make changes in several positions though, which should improve performances in the future.
  • Expect this to be a hard-fought game from the outset.
