- David Meyler is available again after missing the 0-0 draw in Denmark through suspension.
- Other than Meyler's return, no changes are expected from Ireland on Tuesday.
- James McCarthy, Richard Keogh and Sean Maguire have all pulled out of the squad through injury, while Robert Elliot has was withdrawn due to a family bereavement.
- Yussuf Poulsen, Andreas Christensen and Nicklas Bendtner will be pushing for starts in the second leg and starting Saturday's 0-0 draw on the bench.
- Åge Hareide has plenty to ponder ahead of Tuesday's meeting after being held to a 0-0 draw in Denmark.
Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Nicklas Bendtner- you just can't stop him on this form...
@SteveHyland A lot of Bendtner-haters out there. Are you one of them - trying to be funny? I didn’t laugh
@jesper- It always seems to be the view on this site that if a player is disliked, it is because the person criticising is a "hater" as though there always has to be a non-football agenda which clouds all judgement and, as adults, we are unable to look objectively and deduce that said player is average, below average or bad purely on merit. Typically that view is held by those who are unable to look objectively themselves and if they like a player, are unable to see their faults. What does that make them? "Likers"? The fact is, Bendtner forged his reputation while playing for Arsenal. It is a justified reputation. His fault, not a falsehood portrayed by "haters". The fact you are Danish is clouding your judgement. Sorry, but that is clearly the case.
@SteveHyland It seems that my reply to mr. Hyland has disappered i cyberspace - I sent it one hour ago ... The short version to mr. Hyland: Please stick to the serious comments and let people with a really funny pen make the funny stuff - you really don’t master that pen ...
ROI looked out of their depth after half time. I thought their line should have pushed up. Their front line wanted to press, but the team didn't join in the press. They were too fragmented and I suppose ultimately handed drilled a proper plan b for when they needed to go for it. Despite what the suggestions are below, I'm English. Says on my profile I think. It surprises me Ireland crumbled so badly, not that I'm overly bothered as their fans are going to be supporting the opposition when England play anyone in the main tournament. Eriksen played the game of his life here bagging a hat trick. I thought Denmark played some nice football and Sisto looked a great raw talent with power and agility. Denmark seems a side with potential for the main draw and dare I say it they could be the darkest of horses for the main tournament after this electric display.
Name any no.10 in the world who performs as well for his club and country as Eriksen. 10 goals in 12 qualifying games.
@kunoy Mess.......
@delllello Hmm ... rephrasing: Name a no. 10 from this world?... :-)
Name any player from Ireland than any footballfan in the whole world would rather see in the World Cup than Christian Eriksen?
VI ER RØDE VI ER HVIDE
ERIKSEN! :-)
Don’t understand Jorgensen in front ...
Under 2.5 & Denmark to win by corners - super safe
@fervour21 6 goals dude... and you said it was "super safe"

2-1
under 1.5 match goals Ireland 0 - 1 Denmark
Should be two tight game, this. Good luck to both sides and may the best team be the one to qualify for the group stage.
@Fromhell There's no good luck for both sides in a football match...
@tzenix YES THERE IS! Luck with referee and other factors that play in. You know very well that the better team in a game, can fall on "bad luck"
1-0
Ireland will park the bus once more and hope for a lucky goal in counterplay or from a set piece. The Irish come with heart, believe and fight but no football-skills at all. I really don’t want to see this boring defensive team playing boring destructive matches in the World Cup. I can only come up with one positive thing to say about this team: The fans are really great - but in a World Cup they will have just a few kicks on tv-sceens worldwide while their team is playing louse football. This match could be another boring 0-0 to be decided on penalties - in that case I would bet on Schmeichel. But I surely hope Eriksen will show these Irish busdrivers the true value of his own driving license early in the first half ... :-)
@jesper It is a skill in itself to be able to defend individually and as a team. I don't think you should be attempting to analyse anything if you are going to be immature like a child. Being difficult to break down, trusting teammates and defensive IQ in a team defensive structure is a skill. As is offering enough on the counter so that you don't invite too much pressure and get pinned. I think you are very salty about the first leg. You play to the strengths of your squad and players as a manager against a given opponent. You need to grow up. You're a cookie cutter football fan with a child mentality and lack of understanding of the game. If you don't concede you can't lose, it's the most important thing in football.
@Champion You disagreeing with me does not make me anything near being “immature like a child” or someone who “needs to grow up” or any of the other condescending terms you use. One can argue that using terms like these in a sober debate like this is childish in itself. So what does that make you? Please play the ball instead of the man
@jesper - It makes him Irish! ; - >
