They were playing really well, but the own goal broke their spirit and Russia managed to take the maximum out of it in a very quick way. Anyway, congratulations to Russia for qualifying.

Plus he has less talented players around him, that can't set him up properly, so that he acted actually more like a playmaker. On top he is of course still not fully fit yet.

@deakyb Russia has a rather average team, slow, immobile and not very creative. On paper Egypt should be better but one can't underestimate the home factor.
Russia have probably two players, which stand out - Denis Cheryshev and Aleksandr Golovin. I'm far from impressed by their team as a whole, never mind their 5:0 trashing SA. As I mentioned in another comment, SA played like an amateurs, so this result proves absolutely nothing. And we saw that Egypt can put up a solid fight vs. a team with amazing forwards as Urugay. If Salah plays this game and they mange to neutralize the two I mentioned above, I expect Egypt to win, probably narrow. 0-1 or 1-2
