The stats seem to be missing for the last world cup head to head game between Japan and Colombia. It's not a finished game on Whoscored in head to head records when you click it. Interestingly, Japan statistically did well despite losing 4-1 in WC 2014 according to the match stats on BBC. Japan had 61 possession and 23 shots to Colombia's 13. Another interesting thing to note of that game is Cuadrado took the penalty and not Rodriguez to open the scoring in the match. So Rodriguez could have potentially had one more goal in that tournament. Japan are an ok side, but I feel they are prone to lapses in concentration at the back. Yoshida has his moments where he plays well and calmly, but he's a streaky player in the sense he will play a string of games solidly or he will play a string of games in a wild panic and be very prone to lapses in concentration. Japan's chances in this game I think depend on which Yoshida turns up to be honest and whether the rest support him too in DFof course.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Oozora, Tsubasa (JPN, CAM): The number 10 of Japan this year is Tsubasa. Also known as the Captain. Despite his young age, he has been given the responsibility to be the leader of locker room. He can see the field like Xavi. He also has a pair of heavy legs to shoot from outside the box.
Genzou Wakabayashi (JPN, GK): Currently playing a superb season in Japan. He has a huge wingspan. Can deflect bullets when playing at his peak. Wakabayashi is probably the only man between the posts to wear a cap. He doesn't let the Sun to distract his job. I wouldn't be surprised the Samurai Blue can keep a clean sheet against Colombia.
@HillaryClinton You really think Japan will be able to keep a clean against Colombia's huge offensive power?? Falcao, James Rodriguez, Cuadradado, Bacca, both center backs are very good at scoring headers too, and if for some reason the match is not going in favor of Colombia, they have their secret weapon Juan Fernando Quintero who is capable of disrupting any team in the world, even if Japan are parking the bus, James and Quintero can easily score from free kicks...
Colombia tested in friendlies both being boring and very entertaining. This should be something in between I think. WOnder only how well Japan will play in final third. My gues is 2-0 or 2-1 Colombia.
Interesting to see this Colombian team and Rodriguez play, especially after their great performance in the last world cup (they also got robbed by Brazil where Rodriguez got zero protection from the officials and was constantly fouled). Japan aren't hopeless, but surely Colombia will be too strong for them.
It is becoming a fashion of crucial players not starting the game
@decipher7 indeed...
Sanchez >Ospina
lmao 99% of this comment section got #owned by the blue samurai
@Lulzovich I think people have forgotten that the World Cup is in Russia rather than in Brazil or Mexico.
Indeed
You're welcome for the assist Osako
Everything Unexpected is happening this world cup...
its time james to come on now
Falcao should have received at least 1 yellow card for his flops
It still smells like a draw to me.
Why is James not on the field?
@MathCatsFootball He was unhappy with his haircut and thus refused to participate (?)
Sure win for Colombia, y'all said? Well well
@mihopol Colombia is still going to win despite having 10 men on the pitch.
@mihopol you were saying?
@Vincentius_Predictions you were saying?

asian teams are crap 4-1
@angelo44 Well, take that Japanese crap and enjoy your red card.
@angelo44 ya man
colombia win 2-0,3-1,4-1
@ProGuess yeah 0-1 we already have, still only 4 for Colombia ;)
Columbia to win, no question about it. They will score 2 maybe 3 goals and they will do it early.
@deakyb still you have no question? ;)

@Champion Whoscored have now fixed this
Japan is a very solid team. Columbia 1:0 / 0:0
I lost hope for a superior team against less powerful team according to the previous matches (arg, bra, ger).
Colombia 4 - 0 Japan
COLOMBIA and Less than 3.5 goals
3-1 Colombia.
i fancy japan nicking a result here X2
2:1

@Anonymous_T LOOOL got hard baited, these guys have different names in my country hahaha
@HillaryClinton Josh Wright shows his poor talent by predicting the game to end 3-0.
