Japan
Poland
- Japan boss Akira Nishino may opt to name the same starting XI for the third game running with no pressing injury concerns ahead of the meeting with Poland.
- Poland could revert back to a 4-2-3-1 after a disappointing performance against Colombia.
- Arkadiusz Milik could come back into the side should head coach Adam Nawalka, while Kamil Glik may also start after his cameo appearance off the bench against Colombia.
Poland need to ditch Nawalka and bring in a coach who actually has a philosophy. They won here because Japan suck to the nth degree. Poland in all three games have looked devoid of a game plan even to the point of having Lewandowski dropping deep only for the midfielder to play it long into the vacant space where Robert used to be standing. Good stuff. As for Japan, I don't blame them for playing keep-ball. The idea of 'spirit of the game' went out of the window as soon as money became involved and sport because part of the entertainment business.
lmaooo japan keeps pissing in y'all's cornflakes
Well, I understand it's all about calculation, but I have to say Japan lost much of my respect they earned in the previous matches. The end of the game was a disgrace to football. The whole match was hard to watch but the last 5 minutes... A cabaret.
@AnselmSelze I actually think what they did was fine, fair and also a gamble too. And the right choice in the end. I don't consider playing the group situation a disgrace to football. Perhaps the pedantic millennial social media generation will, that are outraged by anything and everything. But I certainly don't and actually think it's interesting Japan went for this 0-1 gamble and more interesting it paid off.
@Champion I didn't say it was unfair. If I were Japan's coach, I'd tell my players not to take the risk and play cautiously. But playing cautiously doesn't necessarily mean caricaturing tiki-taka in such a way. Btw, I do think they deserved to advance.
hopefully dirty Japanese will be soundly beaten in the following match what a awful last 15 min vs Poland, deliberately kept ball for 0-1 to stay
@koziol.mutant Don't be too sour dude, any team would have done exactly what they did! The objective is to qualify to the knock out stage which they did. I say good on them. That said I hate South Korea :""""(
@koziol.mutant most likely will, since they gonna face a very strong side. But if it's come to your team, the scene maybe also be the same. And sorry if u lose a bet.
@koziol.mutant Why are they dirty? It's a group stage situation and they played the table. That isn't cheating. If a team could be relegated with a loss by 1-0 or more they would do the same. And this is the exact same situation. Getting knocked out equals relegation. They are playing the table within the rules and it's ironic calling them dirty when their fair play record got them through
If Japan can't even get a draw vs Poland, they don't deserve to advance..
@neumi17 If a team is advancing to the next stage, then they deserved to go through. They all played three games; did Japan get lucky a little yea but so did we vs Sweden. :(
@MathCatsFootball Who is " we " ? You are American
@neumi17 I was born in Munich though.
@neumi17 Japan got lucky in their 1st match when Colombia had a player sent off just 3 minutes into the game, I'm prettty sure they would have lost and today Senegal would be advancing to the next round, Senegal clearly deserves it more than Japan...
@Anonymous_T Senegal doesn't deserve to go through . Your logic is broken. Japan forced Colombia into a 3rd minute red card, you need to get over that. The team that goes through in accordance to the rules goes through. It's not like Japan got a win via robbery or anything, they won fair and square against Colombia. Ironically you think Senegal is much better than Japan, but they drew when they played each other
@Champion Im just saying they got lucky ;)
@Anonymous_T They are very lucky to go through, but they deserve it by circumstance. They are a poor side and won't get far.
@neumi17 That's not how this tournament works sunshine. The group table is what matters. You view the teams after 3 games, not the one of your choice.
@Champion First of all, I am really happy that I am your sunshine. And secondly of course I can say that Japan didn't deserve it, f...the table, it's my opinion. Germany wouldn't have deserved it at all to advance with this terrible football but if they had scored the header by Hummel's in the 86. min, they would have advanced. But it is much better they didn't because now we will get a new manager and better football in the future. Some times things have to break down to get better.
@neumi17 Poland isn't a bad team, they just played badly in this particular tournament.
Poland win, advantage is clear
@daizheng33 clear my ass
@congthanhgiong- Why, what is stuck in it? :-o
Since Japan can qualify even with a loss, (if Columbia wins) then i think they will play very defensively today - under 2,5.
@lias Columbia is twice as good as Colombia
@lias if Japan is defeated by 0:2 and Columbia wins 1:0.. Japan is out of the tournament
@ambrose I know, but I expect Columbia to score at least 2 goals
Japan will beat Poland 4-1.
UEFA Nations League can already start first round. Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Poland are out of World Cup, they are waiting :DDD And just add that we're talking about the best division A :DDD it's a mockery...
It happend twice in row for us.. Lose two matches and then win at last match for nothing. But i see problems here, we never sunk so hard and the atmosphere is terrible. I think X is max we can get and it will be BTTS. I go for 1-1.
How did Lewandowski not to score in the campaign.. Japan 2:2 / 1:3 Poland
@ambrose because he sucks
@congthanhgiong - Of course he does, it's only the third successive season he scored at least 40 goals!
under
btts trust me
2-1 Japan.
Poland plays tragically on this world cup. Japan on the contrary. They surprised me very much 3:1
Japan-Poland 4-1
Japan 2:0
I got a feeling Poland will want to go out with their heads up, so an X2 is really up for the grabs. Also fancy the chances of Lewa scoring, don't think he'll be around for the next tournament anymore at almost 34 years of age (best case scenario as a sub to be used in 2nd halves for added experience)...
Provided Colombia win as banker, then Japan can even lose and go trough, smell friendly 2-2 or late Poland 3-2 if Colombia would be winning with some marging against Senegal
Japan can at least Draw against Poland. 1X Japan.
The outcome of this match will greatly depend on the match between Colombia and Senegal. If either team is winning, Japan will settle for a draw. If it looks like they are playing to draw, Japan will have push all men forward to get the three points.
@HillaryClinton I'm predicting a win for the Samurai Blue. Poland was hyped up, but they haven't shown anything impressive. The Japanese were lucky against Colombia, but the draw against Senegal was deserved by playing good football.
