"...which is a huge blow for the Portuguese giants" , "The Portuguese giants have lost as many games ..." The site's prediction for this game is ok but since when Sporting is a giant team ????? LOL! Thank you whoscored for making me laugh so early in the morning.
Grahovac wont be available for the rest of the season since he joined HNK Rijeka on loan yesterday.
Sporting will have a hard time in this one considering they travelled ~6000 miles and almost 30 degrees change (from 14°C in Lisboa to -13°C in Astana. My bet is HT/FT X or 0-2 goals.
Don't expect Sporting to play at the same level they did in the Champions League, because they have the most important players injuried and some others almost getting injuried too. Plus they are trying at all cost to achieve the Portuguese League title and this season might be the last chance to do it with the current president and who knows when it might happen again, because they have been investing a lot of money for their capabilities and will have to sell a lot next season. So I expect Sporting to play with some B team players.
@hellreaper Best players injured? Maybe Dost, but this is one player and Doumbia can replace him very well. I can agree with you that the league title can be a priority for them, but i really don't expect to see any "B team players" in their squad for this game.
@bojack Doumbia Will be frozen here...
Sporting is not playing well far from home.
Astana should improve their football.
1x for combo and ah 0 in single.
Amazing from Sporting. All these subjective factors like the huge journey, the weather and still managing to win like this...
I have backed the draw @3.25 just because Sporting's form is horrible
after all exactly these hard conditions can upkick them
Going from +16C to -18C and travelling 6,000km. could be more than enough for Sporting to blow this game... Really, this isn't normal.
1X. That's all
how can you play football when it's -20°C? good luck!
0-2

@Gambino78 They are giants in Portugal. No one said they were giants in football as a whole.
consider its -19* in Astana
Mathieu will not play, he did not travel with the team. With Dost injured, Sporting have struggled to score. Under 2.5 goals is my prediction

@bojack Well... Bas Dost, Daniel Podence and Mathiew are major losses
