City played a formation much more closer to a 3-4-2-1, although Sané played a bit higher up than Walker (ever since Guardiola got Dani Alves, he has a thing for assymertic formations). Only after they subbed Gündogan off and brought Sterling on did they actually play 4-2-3-1, although even that can be argued that they play a 4-2-4.
I have to gongratz Liverpool for 1st half amazing...
But They didnt give a shit in 2nd half and this will be crucial in 2nd leg..
Never can think that with 3-0 you passed...
Bye..
@papaitucano How did they play shit 2nd half? They perfected their game plan and kept a clean sheet. Away goals play a massive part in Champions League and City have none. You'd expect Liverpool to get at least one goal in the 2nd leg.
I can't think of a single Liverpool outfield player who wasn't at least 'very good' or a single Man City player who was anything but 'average'. This should have been a bigger margin of victory but after the 3rd goal, Liverpool were clearly content with preserving their lead- and that makes complete sense. Defended very well too, something Kloppp teams aren't exactly known for. All 4 ties are done and the 4 who will go through are those I believed would, genuinely.
look for guardiola to blow out the transfer AGAIN, go and get the best of the best, but what he really should do is buy the refs like barcelona and then you will have a wonderful 10 year run. before that, the best match was real vs atletico.
@TSN they did good because they played w 14, the refs were always helping them. the chelsea final they only won it because the ref refuse to let them loose. i am sure he took a big bag of cash to call such a bad game, i mean, really how can you mess up that many times vs 1 team.
@neumi17 This time I totally agree. He wasn't able to do one thing right. I guess he urgently needs a pause for some self-assessment. Things are happening too fast for him to metabolize.
Haha Whats the chances of MC not scoring tonight ? This game was the sure thing on BTTS, wonder how much this "unlucky" "unusual" "no shots on target" game from MC generated for bookies and all crooks related :)
Liverpool scoring 3 goals didn't shock me but what surprised me was city not being able to score . From betting perspective, this is good news because we can surely expect goals next week as city have no choice
Guardiola proving once again how pathetic he is when his players are not strong enough to win by their own... Extraordinary players, but not even a single real occasion, they should have changed something.
@felipe9525 not really, against barca they were missing 3 key players (robben, ribery, alaba) against a very strong and complete barca lineup but he screwed up by wanting the away goal instead of keeping it at 1-0 and win the home game.
@neumi17 He's stubborn and wants his philosphy to be implemented no matter what.He'll never win the champions league again with any team ever unless either he changes his style of play or he has players equivalent to Xavi,Ineiesta,Messi and Sergio B.Only they can complement his style of play all season long for 3-4 consecutive seasons..
Reds have more mystic champions than City. Sorry for Kun and Nico Otamendi. I cross my finger Salah is a really crack and should never go to Real Madrid, please Liverpool don't sell him!
This is a tricky match... Man city have no history in the champions league and Liverpool has won 5 times the tournament, plus playing at home... but if Man city plays their best football than they have more chances of winning this match, but it's still difficult to point out a winner. If I were to bet in I'd bet over 2.5 goals + btts at odds of 1.83 on bet365. To me, that's the best bet, this game is just too important to Liverpool, they know that they need to win playing at home, so I think they will play aggressive football as they always do, especially at home. And City is City, one of the best, most balanced teams in Europe, I just cannot see them not scoring tonight. Let's see...
@matheusp1796 Don't get it, what does history have to do with that ? It's Liverpool vs City, what difference does it make in which competition the game is taking place? It is still the same game of the same teams ...
City has a very bad record away to Liverpool and Liverpool is known to do well in Europe. I think Liverpool win tonight and then City to win at Etihad. Could come down to away goals...
Very interesting match, Sané, de Bruyne, Silva and Jesus vs. Mane, Firmino and of course Salah. ManCity will win it's game at home for shure. So it actually decides tonight already who is gonna advance. If Liverpool doesn't win at least by a 2 goal margin they probably won't stand a chance...
Well I'm a City fan and honestly this is a tough call. However, I think if there's any team in Europe to beat this Liverpool side will be City.The game we lost to Liverpool was full of mistakes wrong passes and before we didn't play our game. The Liverpool front three will find it difficult tonight because our game plan's to have a lot of the ball, if Liverpool don't have the ball there's no way for them to score. I say win for City 2 nail on the night.
City to come away with something tonight. Or at worst a 1 goal defeat. If we look at the 4-3 result, City made a lot of mistakes such as Ederson rushing out giving the ball away and leaving an open net. Liverpool to be fair were fantastic that day but I think it’s unlikely City will make as many mistakes today and even at 4-1 down last time City came back and were unlucky not to get something with a decent chance from Aguero in the last minute.
City’s struggle tonight will be finishing their chances. As always City will create loads of scoring opportunities- if they take them they could easily win this by a fair few. At the same time you have to recognise Liverpool’s attacking power and the same could be said for them to put away their chances. Can’t wait for this one to be fair and I along with the rest of the football fans out there I expect plenty of goals. . (awaits it being 0-0 now)
Liverpool know how to play against teams that come at them and their counter game is strong but then again City are just too good with the ball...
tough one to call
Maybe bold prediction, but well I am going for a 0-0 draw, Guardiola will play tactical game this time, its not a premier league game where you have 38 games to play. A clean sheet in away game is very important and this will be priority for Man.city scoring a goal will be second objective.
Both teams to score is the first tip, Man City (draw no bet ) is the 2nd tip is the 2nd tip and over 2.5 goals is the 3rd tip in this match. I have a feeling pep guardiola has the last meeting on his mind and will surely demand revenge.
@jerzydrimmtimm And how so? You have Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City.
From which team do you think Liverpool is better? I wouldn't put Liverpool ahead of even Juventus.
@Liverpoolbest Liverpool didn't win 3-0 against Bayern...But two teams with the same name played a training match in the pre-season, where the team labeled Liverpool won 3-0, yes. It's a totally different thing.
@Liverpoolbest "capable of defeating anyone" is a different statement. By that, Sevilla and Roma are also capable of defeating anyone.
Liverpool couldn't hold on to 3-0 lead over Sevilla and ended up conceding three in just one half. It is delusional to think that Liverpool is a better team than Bayern. And when the hell did they defeat Bayern 3-0 lol? It was PSG for all I remember
@HassanAshas they beat bayern back in July and realistically Roma and sevilla don't stand a chance of winning the champions league, Liverpool do, and the game against sevilla was because of a red card and that was ages ago anyway
@Liverpoolbest ages ago? lol, it was some months ago. Twice your team screwed up, first at Anfield (conceded 2 after scoring 2 goals) and then at Pzijuan (conceded 3 after scoring 3 in first half, and no, no red card was involved)
Your defense is pathetic.
And even Milan thrashed Bayern by 4-0 in friendlies, friendlies don't matter. Never have, never will. This is the first time you are facing a strong team in Champions League this season and I don't think you stand a chance against City. You might win today but will lose at Ethiad easily.. Liverpool is a very good team but surely not among the top four teams of Europe.
TAA motm
Brace yourselves, Guardiola is gonna spend more € 2 billion next season because of that loss.

Manchester City have no shots on target.
@Davisson do you think City'sattack is worse?
@WilliamNO.1 good question, no augero, silva or sterling
I can't think of a single Liverpool outfield player who wasn't at least 'very good' or a single Man City player who was anything but 'average'. This should have been a bigger margin of victory but after the 3rd goal, Liverpool were clearly content with preserving their lead- and that makes complete sense. @SteveHyland if you look at more reliable ratings, you will find Arnold and robertson rated arpund 9 for this game
Vintage performance from Kyle Walker
@KunAndFriends Poor vintage
@Fromhell I'm a Spurs fan despite the username, so that kind of vintage
look for guardiola to blow out the transfer AGAIN, go and get the best of the best, but what he really should do is buy the refs like barcelona and then you will have a wonderful 10 year run. before that, the best match was real vs atletico.
Klopp vs. Guardiola 13 played, 7 wins, 1 draw, 5 losses.
Best GegenPressing I have ever seen in the 1st half, just imagine if Klopp has the midfield of RealMadrid !
@Yman Real Madrid’s midfielders don’t fit that style.
@sarigginsUSA Klopp can make them fit, who imagined average players like Milner and Henderson play like that!
Except Barca, Pep's side does not do well away in knock-out stages of UCL.
@TSN they did good because they played w 14, the refs were always helping them. the chelsea final they only won it because the ref refuse to let them loose. i am sure he took a big bag of cash to call such a bad game, i mean, really how can you mess up that many times vs 1 team.
Flop of the match : Leroy Sane
@neumi17 Neymar of city
@neumi17 This time I totally agree. He wasn't able to do one thing right. I guess he urgently needs a pause for some self-assessment. Things are happening too fast for him to metabolize.
@neumi17 it's walker, sane did what he can
@BSN He has shown already, that he can do much better than that tonight.
Haha Whats the chances of MC not scoring tonight ? This game was the sure thing on BTTS, wonder how much this "unlucky" "unusual" "no shots on target" game from MC generated for bookies and all crooks related :)
Would like to know the stats for Robertsons crossing, if he gets the cross past the first defender its usually hitting the corner flag!
Shout-out to Trent, fantastic bounce back!
@Ouftey It's just like when Guardiona was Bayern's coach and lost against Real Madrid and Barcelona.
@felipe9525 not really, against barca they were missing 3 key players (robben, ribery, alaba) against a very strong and complete barca lineup but he screwed up by wanting the away goal instead of keeping it at 1-0 and win the home game.
@felipe9525 Guardiola only has plan A. If that doesn`t work he still keeps on using plan A
@neumi17 He's stubborn and wants his philosphy to be implemented no matter what.He'll never win the champions league again with any team ever unless either he changes his style of play or he has players equivalent to Xavi,Ineiesta,Messi and Sergio B.Only they can complement his style of play all season long for 3-4 consecutive seasons..
Henderson took a yellow card and will miss the second leg.
Klopp said it wouldnt finish 0-0, boy was he right!!!
Reds have more mystic champions than City. Sorry for Kun and Nico Otamendi. I cross my finger Salah is a really crack and should never go to Real Madrid, please Liverpool don't sell him!
If the game ends normally, than Liverpool will concede one or two goals just before the end .
Sane sucks as much tonight as he did in the friendly game for Germany
yea there is no way a defence like that is going to win the champions league
Ok, that should be enough for Liverpool now. ManCity is just pathetic
Wow Liverfool is about to knock of Barcelster Citylona
@tshibuabua shut up moron
God I’m jittery with nerves right now
4-2 Liverpool but I’m hoping for a special night like LFC vs Real back in 09’
Liverpool 2 - 4 Manchester city
Prepare to be entertained! Liverpool win 3-2.
hoping for an exciting, high scoring game. Going with City to win + BTTS at 4.10 odds

@matheusp1796 Nice analysing dude
If I were to bet in this match*
@matheusp1796 No problem dude we already got your view of point
@Cannavaro69 - It's 'point of view', not 'view of point'
@andrew7taylor Thanks for the info bruhh
City has a very bad record away to Liverpool and Liverpool is known to do well in Europe. I think Liverpool win tonight and then City to win at Etihad. Could come down to away goals...

Liverpool and their fans are being annoying so I hope they're brought back to reality in this match. 0-2 man city
@Carpena07 lolol
@Carpena07 what reality?
@Carpena07 excactly
1-0 for Liverpool forever.............
@Poon As if City wouldn't score ...:-)))
@neumi17 lol
More goals. Over 5.1 goals. Liverpool to win massively against Man. City. Liverpool 4:2 Man.City. Go all out for Liverpool.
Well I'm a City fan and honestly this is a tough call. @Lums3 wow, you are almost right
BTTS
When whoscored says 2:2 you remove one goal and Correct score is Liverpool 1 : 2 Manchester City ✌️
1:3 Man city
X2&BTTS
@Gambino78 almost nailed it my friend :)

Zinchenko would be left back instead of Laporte. 0:0 / 1:1
This is not a Premiere League game, but can easily end 0-1, but im trusting in a draw game..
1-1, 3-1 in Manchester
Liverpool know how to play against teams that come at them and their counter game is strong but then again City are just too good with the ball... tough one to call
Over 2.5 / Btts / Btts and Over 2.5 should be free bets here
Maybe bold prediction, but well I am going for a 0-0 draw, Guardiola will play tactical game this time, its not a premier league game where you have 38 games to play. A clean sheet in away game is very important and this will be priority for Man.city scoring a goal will be second objective.
@benger_alert 0-0 away from home is not a good result, just ask Man U.
@benger_alert it's more important to score in away game than to keep clean sheet. Liverpool should play carefully this time.
draw
I think the anfield atmosphere against city will take Liverpool to a 3-1
Liverpool 3-1
Man City over two leagues.
BTTS
Mancity sweet revenge 3-1 winners over this 1 and a 4-2 aggregate win
@Serial_Scorer exsactly
@weso its excatly , learn english stupid boy
@Cannavaro69 , it's actually 'exactly.' You should learn English first.
Both teams to score is the first tip, Man City (draw no bet ) is the 2nd tip is the 2nd tip and over 2.5 goals is the 3rd tip in this match. I have a feeling pep guardiola has the last meeting on his mind and will surely demand revenge.
I think Liverpool squeaks by with a 2-1 win here. Regardless of outcome though, I'm really looking forward to both of these matches.
draw 1-1
Manchester City might not win the 1st leg but hopefully it qualifies because it's better overall.
BTTS
Bad luck, they both deserve semi-finals at least
@jerzydrimmtimm And how so? You have Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City. From which team do you think Liverpool is better? I wouldn't put Liverpool ahead of even Juventus.
@HassanAshas nice one
@HassanAshas True
@HassanAshas. Youve got to be joking, liverpool beat bayern 3-0 and are more than capable of defeating anyone
@Liverpoolbest Liverpool didn't win 3-0 against Bayern...But two teams with the same name played a training match in the pre-season, where the team labeled Liverpool won 3-0, yes. It's a totally different thing.

the worst draw for Man City
@tar88s yes yes yes definately the worst thing that didnt happen
The most balanced and unpredictable game. At least we'll have an english team in the semifinals.
