After man city scored in 1st minute I thock Liverpool if gonna lose. But my salah is always there. After Barcelona lass I gave full hearted support to Liverpool
Poor city beaten yet again.3 times now by liverpool.11 vs 11 they stand no chance.people might say the officials this and that but i honestly think city created their own problems.people are talking about the offside goal disallowed yet the first goal there was a foul on van dijk.Salah is on fire a great player indeed.everyone was sure city s gonna win the 2nd leg but its funny how footbal turns out to be
I first thought it was going to happen and City will score all those goals to come back, after that first intense start and eventually the goal, but they were little unlucky, that second goal was disallowed but it was not offside what a shame for City, but ultimately they lacked the decisiveness at the end of all those attacks in the first half except the goal and that disallowed goal..
@tonysaintmarc Do you live in a dark room with no internet or tv ? It has been explained a hundred times, that the goal couldn't have been off side, since the ball came from a Liverpool player ...
@neumi17 Law 11 - Offside. A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by:
...
or
gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has:
rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar, match official or an opponent
...
A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save by any opponent) is not considered to have gained an advantage.
Was it deliberately played by Milner? I don't think so. Was it a save by him? I don't think so.
I don't think most of the people on here understand offside (typical yanks). There has to be two defenders holding an offender in an onside position. We only ever look at one because the goalkeeper is usually there to hold them on, but Sane was behind Karius with only one defender between him and the goal....Offside
@abright70 That all doesn't matter, if the ball comes from a Liverpool player like yesterday . Sané could have just waited in front of the goal all alone all game long. If a player of the other team touches the ball before it gets to Sané, it will be always a good goal.
@abright70 no offside if the balls come from the opposition player, it was Milner in this case. So either you didn`t know that or you didn`t watch the game. So your statement can be applied to you or to the other game.
This was one of the biggest robberies in the history of the CL. At least one ungiven penalty to City, clear goal, which meant that the result would have probably been 3:0 at half-time. Mane should have also been sent off, which would have led to what happened the first time these two met at the Etihad Stadium this season. Manchester City were ROBBED!
Reds were the better team, I'm glad they finally go through. But honestly I think the referee was wrong , cameras showed Sane was not in offside position, the goal was legitime and would've meant for Reds go to the half time with a 0-2 for trailing.
@dib Mhm, better team ? Liverpool had one excellent first half at home, a mediocre second half and and absolutely horrible first half in Manchester. In the second half the scored. Of course you can`t say much if you lose by 5-1 but Liverpool only had one really good 45 minutes as well as ManCity.
@dib Yeah, I mean, even if he was off it came off Milner so there's no way the should have been disallowed. I still reckon Liverpool were the better side over two legs, though.
How the hell did De Bruyne get MOTM?? No Goal or Assist, on the losing side at home when having to score three. Not a single Tv pundit gave De Bruyne MOTM. A few standard passes and good positional play shouldn’t out score those Liverpool players who have just beaten the premiership champions at there own ground. Mane, Salah, firmino, Milner, VVD, lovren, TAA all clearly had a better game that De Bruyne.
@Elltidy De Bruyne had 5 shots, 2 keypasses and 4 dribbles. In that combination no other player had such an impact. Who else should have been higher, Firmino or Salah ? Besides their goals there was nothing from them, especially in the first half .
@cimbricus That's the official way of judging football here on whoscored.com. Stats built up and in the end the guy with the most positive actions wins in rating. It is ludicrous to say that someone was good only because he scored a goal...
@offside Most reasonable comment I've seen all day. After that '3-0' loss the previous week, I find it crazy that anyone would consider City capable of scoring 5 goals (already assuming that Liverpool were going to score at least one goal and continue their goalscoring form). I ruled City out after the first leg, despite even being a fan of the club (pragmatic og realistic to the grave).
Wijnaldum is a joke in central midfield and even more in defensive midfielder. LFC needs someone in midfield to handle the game and the pressure like fellaini or matic.
@footballover I am stating the obvious facts. What you do with that is up to you. You must be allergic to something else, because I don´t care about ManU ( who does ? ) but about the fact, that ManCity was dominating the game in both first halfs so much, that neither ManU nor Liverpool had a shot on goal ...
@neumi17 , your statement is laughable, you mention united and then say “ I don’t care about them “ . Your hatred doesn’t make the most successful English club and one of the biggest (if not the biggest)club look any smaller . You can only be jealous of their global fan base . Stick to bundesliga
@JohnBenjamin It doesn't change anything about the poor performance by Liverpool tonight, much worse than City in Liverpool. And it is still 45+ to play ...
Liverpool will score against Man City if they play their usual counter attacking football with Sane,Firmino and Salah (Passed fitness test ).The Away goal should end the tie.Man City will be very desperate to hit a lot of goals but this will leave their defence wide open for Liverpool to score.
can man city do what barcelona did against psg ? if there is any team that can give away a 3-0 lead this season it's liverpool take the sevilla match as a example. but I think liverpool will get that away goal and it will be too much for city. so city to win but liverpool to qualify.
For City to advance they'll need to break up that defensive line that Klopp set up in the last fixture, who to my surprise at least were extremely resolute and composed. Van Dijk was majestic and is gradually proving his worth, and Trent had Sané in his pocket up till around the 55th minute. It's reasonable to assume that Klopp won't deploy that high-line as he did in the first half in the home leg, therefore requiring the most meticulous and scintillating of performances from the City lineup - but the problem lies in the defence. Although a magnificent, top class manager (Pep) - his attacking reluctancy (in the previous game) will most likely mean that City won't qualify to the semi-finals. Few experts dare to call City out of the tie, but it is evident: if Liverpool either score the first goal or more than one-goal, City will most likely not go through. Liverpool won't pull a PSG, but if City manage to beat this raw, ferocious side then we might be looking at their best ever season.
People here seem to forget Man City had 0, yes, 0 chances in the 2nd half when Klopp made his team fall back and defend only. Pep didnt change a single thing to adapt to that.. obviously he is a good manager but not a good in-game tactician and if his players are not in form then he's helpless which is kind of sad. Klopp is the opposite - he can read the game and have his players do what they have to do and they listen. Unfortunately sometimes his hands are tied because the bench players' quality is subpar. Back to Man City now.. in the game against Man Utd the same thing that happened at Anfield a few days prior happened again but in a different half. Lpool showed no hesitation going forward and with a good, decisive passing scoring chances came one after the other.. and more or less the same happened in the 2nd half against Utd. No matter how much money you spend your defense doesnt automatically get better because unlike offense, defense is more about understanding and positioning
moreover, the key to a good defense is help from midfield and frankly Fernandinho is more like a box-to-box midfielder rather than a defensive midfielder which leaves a huge hole between the lines which Utd and Pool exploited. Bottom line is.. can Pep adapt? Lpool will approach this game cautiously, for sure, and play like they did in the 2nd half of the 1st leg so this really isnt about them but about whether or not Man City can change their style up a bit and try something new. In the past week there were 2 instances they had to do that and they didnt.. If they fail again then this game might as well end 0-0
@fghtr - Klopp may be able to read the game, but you can't. You write in the 2nd half Pep didn't change a single thing to adapt to that. Yet he subbed Sterling in for Gündogan, changed a 3-4-3 into a 4-2-4 and told his team to try to play on the wings instead of in the middle. Just because they've lost doesn't mean that he didn't try anything, it just means that it didn't come off. Likewise, Fernandinho almost never plays as a box-to-box midfielder. Au contraire, he usually plays as a holding midfielder. With David Silva and De Bruyne in front of him, he doesn't really need to create anything by venturing upfield. He just holds his place to give security to his team.
@andrew7taylor right, and yet he started without Sterling so that was a change to it to begin with.. and in the 2nd half he just reverted to his usual formation and what changed in the buildup? nothing really.. well, we all have our own ways to read the game and its not an exact science. In the end Pep stuck to the 2 amc/w + 1 isolated striker, the only difference being he opted for Sterling's speed rather than Gundogan's technique. To me that change is so minor its not even worth mentioning. By drastic change I mean put another one up front or take out a defender add an extra midfielder and the fact is Pep doesnt do it
Looks like Pep proved me wrong and took out a defender and put in another midfielder instead. Its going to be an interesting game.. and 0-0 is out of the question under these circumstances. This tie could go either way
Unfortunately certain key players are out of form ( Sané, Jesus), injured ( Agüero) or had too many matches in their legs ( de Bruyne, Silva) ... Last part is also Peps fault, since he never tested his prime players. Leroy Sané is also totally off and doesn't win or even try to win 1-1 situations anymore. He used to be one of the key players. Now he just plays safe passes and makes weird decisions.
@Cannavaro69 He has been like that for several matches. In the Germany-Brazil friendly he was so bad, that many think he might not make it to the WC now .
I agree, If u spend 0.5Billion then u just have to advance to the semis, PSG only invest like 0.4B and look what happen to them, hahahahahha, Man City to win first half, who cares which half they win, they r not making it to Friday...
Manchester City have lost it balance. the way they played against Manchester United over the weekend shows that they can't manage to go through against Mo Salah team. definitely Liverpool will beat them 3-2
The scenario of this game: the first 20min City will Go All out attack and they will fail to score , the first City Goal will come between 30" and 40" , then Liverpool will not handle the pressure and they will make too many miss passes and mistakes infront of thier own goal and they will concede the second goal in 55" and when City trying to score 3rd goal and to tie the aggregate Liverpool will score by Mo Salah from a fast counter attack between 70" and 80" and will end City chance to qualify to the semi finals and in the last 5min of the match City will score the 3rd goal but it will be too late for them so the final score is 3:1
Only way the citizens can go through is scoring 3 - 0, winning the game at extra time/penalties and keeping a clean sheet if Liverpool manages to score then a lot more goals need five at least. possible score lines
MCFC 3-0 Liverpool
MCFC 4-0 Liverpool
MCFC 5-1 Liverpool
I think City have a shot at this and they're going to attack with everything they've got. For them to win the game here and go thru they'll have to be clinical in front of goal and of course they've to keep the ball well.
one thing i know for sure is that Pep didnt spend half a billion pounds to build a team that can't score 5 against one of the worst defenses in the league. Staking big on on Manchester City to win with over 4 or 5 goals. If they could go 2 goals up before half time against Manchester United that have the best defense in the league, Liverpool won't be a problem at their full strength
@Daccoh You forgot they also conceded goals! It’s clear you’re a man city fan, but absent sentiment, Liverpool will go through. The more city go on an all attack and time ticks as the game grows old, the more their defenses will be vulnerable. So city might well concede 2 or more goals.
@tonyispeacock i'm an Arsenal fan but I just think everyone is under rating this Manchester City team because of a few bad games. Yes, their defence has been proven to be shaky but still doesn't change the fact that they've got the best attack on theor good day. All they need is 3 goals and a clean sheet or 5 if they make a mistake which I don't think will be hard for them.
@uefalona no, whats wrong with you, if Man City advance thats 1 hell of a game, and Liverpool already gave their AGrade so... whoever qualifies is most deserving..
This game is going to be more serious than even the first tie. Watch out for Liverpool. First goal Liverpool, 2nd goal Liverpool and it will not end there, they will score a third goal in this match. If City can score Liverpool 7 goals in this match then they will take the champions league trophy. For Me I am convinced that Liverpool MFS will use counter attach to demolish a desperate Man City. score line City 2:4 Liv. Don't vex at my prediction, congratulate me after the match.
In same way that Liverpool make 3-0 ht, city can do also 3-0 ht in this game. The big difference is if this happen, City will not sleep like Liverpool did. No, i’m not dreaming... For me City have an amazing attack, much better than Liverpool. Liverpool have some problems in away matches, they don’t have a good defense and overconfidence will be punished.
Klopp will go down to earth and will see that he is nothing more than a mere human.
City to win, AH-1, AH-1,5, AH-2, City Ht, City to score twice ht... Qualify around @6,8???
Only choose how much you want to win.
It's been shown the only reason for City's good defensive record this season is because most teams don't bother trying to attack them. However if you do they look fragile. Liverpool have one of the best attacks in the world and i'm sure will score the vital away goal.
After man city scored in 1st minute I thock Liverpool if gonna lose. But my salah is always there. After Barcelona lass I gave full hearted support to Liverpool

@neumi17: but it was saved by Karius before that, so... goal should've stood.
@souravsq123 they were luck too...first goal a foul should have been given
@Mcnigel yep it was a good performance from liv
2nd game when City lose the 2nd half after very good beginning, referees horrible again. Time for VAR to step into CL too..
I don't think most of the people on here understand offside (typical yanks). There has to be two defenders holding an offender in an onside position. I don't see Pep winning the UCL with City through out his stay there.
@TSN agreed. The players (as they always do under Pep eventually) have already stopped buying in
Even if liverpool has qualified for the next tournament , they can no get to the final
Fraudiola has been found out now. His biggest flaw is his team performs like a one trick pony, was only ever going to work for so long.
Reds were the better team, I'm glad they finally go through. But honestly I think the referee was wrong , cameras showed Sane was not in offside position, the goal was legitime and would've meant for Reds go to the half time with a 0-2 for trailing.

Stats don’t do Milner justice to be honest. Thought he was a nuisance for Man City tonight
L'pool did a good job in holding out, I think we can now say definitively that VVD is fixing the defence. Up the reds!
So how much money you lost today you suckers??? hahaha :D
Yes !!! I know it !! Liverpool win the champions !
@YairPro Bayern vs Real Madrid in the FINALE
@YairPro Bayern will stop them ...
@neumi17 Liverpool - Roma Bayren - Real Madrid FINAL : Real Madrid - Liverpool
Klope was the medicine for pep even during Germany days
@royboyzez And who is Klope ?
@royboyzez Not even but especially during his Germany games ...
Stupid from Pep, once again. City were superior in tje first half, but he changed his tactics and after... it was over
@Ouftey Seriously? Last game Pep was criticized because he did not change the tactics. Now he did and that's wrong too ?
@Ouftey now what, Pep doesnt have any hair to pull out...
@offside lol
Saaaaaaaaalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Man city are out
@Samogu were they ever in this tie at all
@offside Most reasonable comment I've seen all day. Right, that has just set man city out
Of course the second goal was no off side but the ref is really bad. The ball came from Milner, so it couldn't have been off side .
Is it just me or the first goal was a clear foul on Van Dijk ?
Another Atkinson
Ref is dumb again.. killed city
@Mdy Would still be 5-2. Either way Pool wiped the floor with City
@Sshah49 No, it would have been 4:0 or 5:0.
ManCity better in any aspect of the game, that is rare to see. Should be 3-0 at half time...
@neumi17 , wrong again
@footballover How can that be wrong ?
@neumi17 , what was the score at half time?
Wijnaldum is a joke in central midfield and even more in defensive midfielder. LFC needs someone in midfield to handle the game and the pressure like fellaini or matic.
@modric97 That’s why we signed Keita
@modric97 Fellaini?? Come on now. I agree we need to sign a 6 but I'd rather see Ndidi or Jorginho come in.
Liverpool looks equally bad as ManU at City. 10-0 shots after 39 minutes, 71 % possession
@neumi17 , you have serious allergy about United . How many times did they spoil your party by beating your team ?
@footballover I am stating the obvious facts. What you do with that is up to you. You must be allergic to something else, because I don´t care about ManU ( who does ? ) but about the fact, that ManCity was dominating the game in both first halfs so much, that neither ManU nor Liverpool had a shot on goal ...

@neumi17 You may say that tonight and possibly tomorrow. After tomorrow City will be forgotten as far as the Champions league 2018 goes.
@JohnBenjamin It doesn't change anything about the poor performance by Liverpool tonight, much worse than City in Liverpool. And it is still 45+ to play ...
no aguero in the first leg and the manchester derby and again hes out? why? jesus did naff all in both games
@BWFCDanny you were saying?

@nexus747 mark my work about Gabriel jesus first goal
@nexus747 today is day for Gabriel Jesus he will score
@nexus747 3-4-3... interesting, did they play this before
I think the key for liverpool will be if salah has recovered fully and if wijnaldum can do as good job in centre midfield as henderson.
Liverpool will score against Man City if they play their usual counter attacking football with Sane,Firmino and Salah (Passed fitness test ).The Away goal should end the tie.Man City will be very desperate to hit a lot of goals but this will leave their defence wide open for Liverpool to score.

@Cannavaro69 hahahah MADRID is gonna win the treble for sure, I i agree with u for a change...
@offside No way Madrid can win CL for three consecutive years

Klopp knows how to beat Real, would be interesting if they draw eachother next round.
@pfuu I feel the only team that can beat Real Madrid is Barcelona
@MessiGOAT Yeah they can beat them on your dreams now because they just kicked out by the Romanistaaaa Forza Roma , Italian Grinta kicked out Barca
@MessiGOAT lmfaooo. Barceolan got their butts handed to them mate. It;s over!
@MessiGOAT WHAT,,, this isn't LaLiga, this is UCL boet, when RM plays champions league then it's MORPHIN TIME...
@pfuu Real Madrid would defeat liverpool.
@pfuu first let him qualify to the next round then we will see if he can beat Real

@Gambino78 Mo Mo Mo MO MO Mo Mooo Salaaaah
@Cannavaro69 Yes, my friend!
Manchester City have lost it balance. the way they played against Manchester United over the weekend shows that they can't manage to go through against Mo Salah team. definitely Liverpool will beat them 3-2
The scenario of this game: the first 20min City will Go All out attack and they will fail to score , the first City Goal will come between 30" and 40" , then Liverpool will not handle the pressure and they will make too many miss passes and mistakes infront of thier own goal and they will concede the second goal in 55" and when City trying to score 3rd goal and to tie the aggregate Liverpool will score by Mo Salah from a fast counter attack between 70" and 80" and will end City chance to qualify to the semi finals and in the last 5min of the match City will score the 3rd goal but it will be too late for them so the final score is 3:1
@Cannavaro69 bro your thinking is good but only change is salah will not score
@Biru11ven LFMAOOOOO. Salah not score? Mate do you know who the Egyptian king is?
@Sshah49 Mo MO Mo MOoooOoooo Salaaaaaah
@Cannavaro69 what a legend in the making
City 2 - 2 Liverpool
BTTS??? anyone help plz?
@AlexOvi Just bet on City to score over1.5 , and you will be safe
@Cannavaro69 isnt that what u bet last time too
2-1 to Liverpool
@YairPro WHAT A PREDICTION mate!
Only way the citizens can go through is scoring 3 - 0, winning the game at extra time/penalties and keeping a clean sheet if Liverpool manages to score then a lot more goals need five at least. possible score lines MCFC 3-0 Liverpool MCFC 4-0 Liverpool MCFC 5-1 Liverpool
@shakes and the only way Liverpool can go thru is to show up and have a larf...
@Daccoh True
Manchester City - Liverpool FC 5:1
@bojack ROFLMAO,,, good 1.
I mean you can get over 3.5 goals @ evens. Got to be worth it
Anything but Liverpool qualifying would be a disaster for the game of football.
@uefalona ahahhaha fraud
@uefalona Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye Barcelonaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha see you next year LOL
@uefalona no, whats wrong with you, if Man City advance thats 1 hell of a game, and Liverpool already gave their AGrade so... whoever qualifies is most deserving..
3-2 for Liverpool
M.City 4-0......3 GOALS in 1st HT...4th in 2nd.
City shamed me. So they could not score the second goal to make Liverpool make my scoreline come to pass. Anyway still Liverpool win. Goodnite
City to win in the first half
@Cannavaro69 they can have 2nd half too if they want
2-1 city, Liverpool moves on
3-2
@papaitucano how are you mate?
@papaitucano see you after tie :)
@JoseMourinhoo lol
@papaitucano "amazing attack, much better than Liverpool". Good luck with that.
@JoseMourinhoo Liverpool Fan Alert?
@papaitucano much better from Liverpool, can you tell me who is the top goal scorer in the PL???
@papaitucano not mancity fan alert
@JoseMourinhoo I´m not a fan.. Only money addict.
@papaitucano Welcome to the club :D
city win and BTTs
Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals . City to score in both halves
@footballover and Liverpool to score either half
It's been shown the only reason for City's good defensive record this season is because most teams don't bother trying to attack them. However if you do they look fragile. Liverpool have one of the best attacks in the world and i'm sure will score the vital away goal.
all english UCL tie would be sick
