Team News

  • Luiz Gustavo could start at centre-back with Rolando struggling with a knock. Rudi Garcia will give the Portuguese boss every opportunity to prove his fitness ahead of the Europa League final, however.
  • Kostas Mitroglou is also a doubt, which could see Valere Germain lead the attack.
  • All in all, Garcia isn't expected to make wholesale changes to his first choice XI.
  • Sime Vrsaljko returns from suspension for Atletico Madrid, though Diego Simeone may continue with the experienced Juanfran at right-back.
  • Filipe Luis may get the nod at left-back ahead of Lucas Hernandez after the former's full recovery from injury.
  • Jose Gimenez and Vitolo are both doubts for the La Liga giants, though have been included in the travelling squad, with Stefan Savic and Angel Correa in line in deputise in defence and on the right flank, respectively.

Prediction

  • Marseille lost ground in the race for a Champions League finish as they drew 3-3 with Guingamp on Friday night and they now sit three points behind Monaco ahead of the final week of the season. The Ligue 1 side have won just one of their last four competitive outings and just two of their last four Europa League matches. They also lost their only visit to Parc OL this season, falling to a 2-0 loss to Lyon back in December, while their form away from the Velodrome in the Europa League this season has been poor, with just one win from their seven away games in Europe this term.
  • Atletico Madrid have too struggled on their travels in European action this season, winning only two of seven away Champions League and Europa League matches. Their form coming into this one, though, has been commendable, with Diego Simeone overseeing three wins in Atletico's last four matches. However, like Marseille and the Velodrome, the Spanish side have faltered on their travels of late, with a five-match winless run preceding back-to-back wins over Alaves and Getafe, respectively.
  • Atletico will look to their resolute defence to see them through Wednesday's final and they should have the means to secure a third Europa League trophy in what is expected to be a hard-fought contest in Lyon.

  • Atletico played very well in the second half. Deserved win.

  • @Davisson completely undeserved

  • 2018 UEFA Super Cup Madrid derby 50% loaded...

  • @TSN and Zizou will win once again to show who rules the city of Madrid

  • This second goal will actually propel marseille to be more fearless. I see them levelling at 2-2. Atleti to win still.

  • I wish Bayern could just buy Griezmann instead of keeping Robbery for another year.

  • @MathCatsFootball Robben and Ribery are wingers with their main strength in 1-1 situations. Griezmann is a totally different type of player and rather finishes combinations than creating them .

  • @neumi17 I agree with you perfectly

  • @neumi17 Robben and Ribbery are too old now, they are either injured or out of form. The were great players for Bayern, but it's time to move on.

  • @MathCatsFootball Yeah Shure but they need a different player as a replacement than Griezmann...

  • @neumi17 you are wrong. look at the key passes, he has had 3.

  • @3dshanty7 What do key passes have to do with that ? Özil ist the master of key passes but would also be the wrong choice for the wings.

  • @neumi17 He used to play as a winger in Real Sociedad and he was great on either wing or CAM.

  • @neumi17 wow u kno so much

  • Ok, game over now. Very cool goal though ...

  • Trivial 0-1 win Atletico

  • 12-0 dribbles Marseille ... Atletico doesn't want to have the ball and only leads because of one mistake.

  • This comment has been deleted.

  • @neumi17 Amateur mistake as well, really poor from Marseille even if they were dominating.

  • Game is boring to death. Atletico are really dreadful to watch, still think they'll win but so far they're terrible

  • @Lechiffre10 Not so boring in the second half

  • marseille will match up with a win but it won't be an easy thing, i think 2:1

  • Jan Oblak will be a man of the match, 0-1 to Atletico

  • Marseille to win EL. Simeone is out, marseille has the better motivation.

  • @Hoodenles Doesn't look like it

  • Marseille have scored in just three of their last nine Europa League away games in 90 minutes.

  • With how resolute Atletico's defence is, Marseille will only win this if they get an early goal... If Marseille don't score inside 25, 2-0, 3-1 Atletico... if they do, 2-1, or 1-1

  • The OM and Atletico twitter pages will display the teams an hour before KO.

  • 2 nil Atleti

  • Atletico 3-1

  • so Gabi will start in midfield ahead of Thomas Party according to whoscored, Personally I don't think so. Thomas Party is a crucial member of Atletico's team this season so I think he will start in midfield.

  • @Da_Real_Deal No Partey, no party.

  • italodisco

  • boring 0-1

  • @angelo44 i second this

  • Marseille 2 Ath 2

  • Ho hum the europa league means nothing... Bring on the UCL please.

  • X2&0-3 goals in match

  • I think Marseille wil play for winning the trophy and to qualify to CL, they will be more motivated than Athletico Madrid that they have already qualified to CL next season, who cares who will win the Europa Legue , this competition is waste of time, it is used for a qualification place to Champions Legue

  • @Cannavaro69 you dont know Diego Simeone ? He is motivated playing and against Las Palmas... i predict here under 2.5 , Marseille will change the attack style gameplay

  • @Cannavaro69 Its not about that. Atletico Madrid wants the pricemoney and Atletico has been in a international final for two times in a couple of years against Real Madrid. They want to win a title now, Atletico to win.

  • @Cannavaro69 , no . Atletico will be as motivated as others because they haven't won any silverware this season , it's still an European championship and that's why Simione has always fielded his strongest side. They are favourites to lift the trophy and I think they will unless there's a red card

  • @footballover Yeah buddy iam with you in this point, this competition for small teams Class B teams , Class A team aiming to win the CL this trophy is nothing for them, and maybe you will be right and Athletico win

  • This match is Under 2.5 @1.70 its a safe bet 100%

  • @Cannavaro69 it was nice safe bet , my wife left me outside for 1 week...

  • Olympiqué Marseille 1 - 0 Atletico Madrid !

  • 0-1

  • I hope OM 0-3 ATM

  • Im hoping for Marseille to Win 2-1 but something tells me bcz of experience Atleti will win here 0-1.

  • 0-0 1-1 2-2

  • @ErindRama 3-3 4-4 5-5. did i get the pattern correct?

  • @uefalona Maybe the loss of Barca against Levante affected you

  • @Cannavaro69 haahhahaha

  • 1-1

  • Under 3.5 goals for sure , under 2.5 is also good

  • OM-ATM 0-1, 0-2, 0-3

  • payet , would have nice match but costa & saul would win it...oblak another great performance

  • Under 3,5 I think.
