Excellent result given how good Brighton can be from set pieces and how badly Spurs have been. The wet weather conditions didn't make things simple either. Poch was right to play a safe possession game in the first half. Silly penalty to give away but the second goal was a great team effort topped by a great finish.
Who is the statistician for this game and others . Particularly the stats on tackles always boggles my mind. How on Earth do they keep marking players like Eriksen all the time with the credit of three tackles. He may make three tackle at best every four games. Dembele today made 7 tackles ,5 of them successful. Dribbles even if harsh he had three. Their appears to be a heavy bias and loose determination on how situations are scored. I remember in Toronto a few years ago two of them were given the task of reporting the stats. Needless to say the y were out to lunch. If you want please give me the contact details to reach out and I will go over the game as usually do for Spurs and write down every moment meticulously. I will hand in my report for your evaluation and critique no problem. i am just a football lover and it annoys me when there are always misleading facts and opinions that are never checked by anyone.thanks, Andrew
@Oakspur Awesome comment! :)

@JoeB91 If you care to look at the all-Time Premier League Penalty Records & Statistics from Season 1992-93 to 2017-18 you will find the following data: Manchester United 83, Arsenal 83, Chelsea 88, Liverpool 92, Tottenham 72, Everton 67, City 93, and Leicester 32, As a percentage of goals scored this equates to Manchester United 0.043, Arsenal 0.047, Chelsea 0.052, Liverpool 0.055 Tottenham 0.049 Everton 0.051, City 0.073, and Leicester 0.056, Tottenham have never been awarded more than 9 penalties to them in a single season and yet the greater number of penalities awarded to a single club was 13 Leicester (2015-2016). In the 2012-2013 season Tottenham weren't awarded a single penalty. Last season Palace (10), Everton (8), City (8), Brighton (7), Watford (6), Leicester (6), Arsenal (5), and West Ham (4) were all awarded more penalties than Tottenham (3).
@JoeB91 Therefore, there is little evidence that Tottenham are awarded an exceptionally large number of penalties compared to other clubs. However, feel free to ignore facts and stick to the narrative that makes you feel good.
@MEHJones That penalty data was since 2002 but the general pattern still holds.
@MEHJones Just maybe ignore City and Leicester who weren't in the league every season before 2002.

No Deli Alli No WIN
A low scoring game favors Brighton. They need to play defense and let Murray do his thing on set pieces. 1-1
Brighton win
Brighton injuries to key players not yet cleared up. It will be like making three new signings this season when they play. Spurs have injuries as well. But Brighton have lost the pace for counter attacks, which will allow Spurs to push up more (e.g. just like Man United)
