Team News

Brighton
Southampton
  • Chris Hughton is sweating on the fitness of Florin Andone, Pascal Groß, Davy Propper and Beram Kayal for the welcome of Southampton.
  • Propper, though, is expected to be fit to start as Hughton looks at the possibility of naming the same XI that started the 2-1 win at Crystal Palace earlier this month.
  • Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is without Michael Obafemi for their trip to the AMEX Stadium.
  • Mario Lemina and Danny Ings will be assessed ahead of this one, but this game comes too early for Shane Long.
  • However, after their 2-1 win over Tottenham prior to the international break, Hasenhuttl could name the same XI here.

Prediction

  • Brighton boosted their survival hopes with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace prior to the international break and back-to-back league wins has lifted them five points above the relegation zone. The Seagulls will hope to end a four-match winless run against another relegation rival with three key points on home turf.
  • Two wins from their last three has moved Saints two points clear of danger, but their away form remains cause for concern. They were pegged back by Brighton when these sides met at St. Mary's back in September and need to at least avoid defeat to maintain their hopes of survival.
  • Saints are unbeaten in recent meetings with Brighton and that run should continue with another entertaining encounter on the south coast in store.
