Team News

Liverpool
Tottenham
  • Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will give Trent Alexander-Arnold every opportunity to be fit in time for Sunday's clash, with the right-back a doubt for the Reds.
  • Joe Gomez is back in training, but this game will come too soon for the youngster, so Joel Matip should continue alongside Virgil van Dijk in defence.
  • Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita will both be assessed ahead of kick off, but Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is expected to be miss out here as he steps up his recovery from a knee problem.
  • Eric Dier was forced off in the first half of England's 5-0 win over Czech Republic last week and sits this one out.
  • Serge Aurier also sustained an injury on international duty with the Ivory Coast and is ruled out here, which means Kieran Trippier starts at right-back.
  • Kyle Walker-Peters took a knock for the England U21s against Germany on Tuesday night and will be assessed, but Harry Winks is also out, with Victor Wanyama set to start.
  • Mauricio Pochettino must decide whether to start in a three-man defence or a 4-3-1-2, the latter of which could see Davinson Sanchez miss out on a starting spot.

Prediction

  • Liverpool could well be one point behind Manchester City by the time this match kicks off, but the Reds will be confident of moving back to the Premier League's summit on Sunday. Liverpool haven't lost a league game at Anfield to Tottenham since 2011, where goals from Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric compounded the Merseyside outfit to a 2-0 loss.
  • Tottenham, though, have lost their last three away league games and are in the midst of a four-match winless run, losing three. They have lost ground in the race for a top four finish and need a positive result here in order to stave off Arsenal and Manchester United in fourth and fifth, respectively.
  • However, Liverpool have dropped points just twice at Anfield this season and are unbeaten in 36 home league matches and should continue that run with victory here.

  • Super unlucky loss for Tottenham. Should have been s draw as expected ...

  • @neumi17 Lloris is a bad keeper. Makes too many individuals errors. France probably played better knowing they had such a bad erratic keeper between the sticks

  • @neumi17 That's why people refer to this match as 'El Bottlico' :D

  • Spurs deserved a draw based on their 2nd half display.

  • no wins in 5 matches since Kane got back on pitch. do u think it is coincidence? I dont think so.

  • salah is like a shrinked down ronaldo with curly hair LOL. I do not care how good he is, mark my words, hes selfishness will cost liverpool sooner or later. There were many chances where a pass would have provided a much better scoring oppertunity but he chose to go at the goal. Did not even look happy at the end of the match IMO and that is very concerning, considering the fashion in witch liverpool won

  • Lloris is getting out of hand ,2 errors in 2 games

  • Ok , to be fair LLoris and Anderweireld share the fault for that incredible own goal, 50% percent of blame for each one.

  • @dib how.... lloris should have caught it. Any keeper at any level should have caught that. Theres no way youd expect your keeper to mess that up that badly.

  • That miss from Sissoko and an unexpected mistake from Alderweireld, I guess we have to wait till Chelsea match (again).

  • Henderson off. Liverpool win. As I always say. Football really is a simple game.

  • A nightmare evening for Belgium's Spurs defenders. 1st goal it was a mistake from Vertoeghen losing the mark of Firmino; and the 2nd was an own goal from Anderweild. IMO Spurs did not deserve to lose.

  • @dib Sanchez was marking Firmino.

  • Lucky Liverpool, stupid own goal by the spurs.

  • Palace, fulham, everton and now spurs. How lucky do liverpool get?...

  • Goodbye trophy...I blame Lovren

  • @moo13 Lol should've write this earlier...

  • Start shining that trophy, the Reds are coming to get what's rightfully theirs!

  • @GioMonaldo Why is it rightfully theirs ?? In the last 3 months every game is extremely hard work, survival and getting lucky. Is that title material ?

  • @neumi17 Give 'em a break, dude! they haven't won a title since the dinosaur age, they deserve a pity title.

  • @GioMonaldo honestly liverpool arent that good

  • Salah and Alli are playing hide and seek today

  • @alxdru but Salah showed up

  • Nice one, Gio

  • How to upgrade your Kane: replace the 'K' with 'M'.

  • 1-1

  • Draw

  • There will be penalty in this match for sure

  • Except for penalty in this match

  • Liverpool's last 24 home Premier League games against Tottenham: Wins - 15 Draws - 8 Losses - 1

  • @Cannavaro69 where are you man

  • 1:2 Son / Kane and Klopp to be sacked! Fvucking idiot moron out Liverpool

  • @ambrose I would be shocked if Liverpool didn't win 4-1

  • @ambrose now try to write it without crying, baby child

  • Liverpool are Undefeated in their last 32 home matches... I hope Spurs bottlers bottle champions league qualification

  • @LFCforever Well Liverpool bottlers will bottle the league as well

  • Tottenham will win 3-1 mark my word

  • 2-2

  • we need to help @Cannavaro69

  • waitting this game

  • Tottenham have lost five of their last six away matches.Liverpool are unbeaten in 15 Premier League home games, dropping just four points, and take on a Spurs team who will be low on confidence after a poor run of away results.

  • 1-0

  • Cannavaro69 where are you??

  • @Rana5624 I need his “mark my word” predictions

  • @Rana5624 he should come right away and resuce us

  • Liverpool 3-0 Tottenham

  • bet spurs win

  • Congrats Liverpool on winning your first EPL title of the 21st century! You guys deserve it.

  • 2-1 or 3-1 Liverpool wins

  • Liverpool needs 3 points here. If not, Man City are PL winners. Sorry. draw 1-1. Tottenham gets a penalty, as usual.

  • 2-0

  • narrow win for Liverpool

  • 1-1 sorry

  • Draw with big chance of Totttenham win

  • @CocoJumbo why you think so? tottenham lost to all top 6 teams except manu (under mourinho) and chelsea (when they had a really bad run) and liverpool at home is unbeaten for almost 2 seasons

  • @Oreo1337 When Tottenham beat Chelsea 3-1, Chelsea were unbeaten since the beginning of the season (P12 W8 D4 L0) and were still being talked up as title contenders with City and Liverpool but hey rewrite history as you like.

  • @MEHJones ''rewrite history as you like''. i liked that! good choice of words. ♥ (neutral)

  • @MEHJones woyyy liverpool ini bukan kaleng-kaleng....liverpool....liverpool, makan daging kambing demi liverpool

  • let the battle of bottlejob commence

  • Kane again!!

  • 3-1 dis. There is NO way Tottenham will draw this game.
