Ref 1-0 WH
Guardiola is so overrated. He just buys the greatest talents money can buy.
@Yassine_1 One of the most ignorant comments I've read on here... While I do agree that City have splashed big money on top players, they are far from alone in that bracket these days, even if they're still top in it. And that's not even mentioning the fact that Guardiola came to City with 18 trophies in his bag, without having had the luxury of a bottomless money well, despite both Barcelona and Bayern having solid finances.
It's human to be bitter, but at least try sticking to the facts.
@Yassine_1 LOL I hope you're joking. he's made Aguero (a premier league legend) better, sterling is world class now, sane wasn't scoring or assisting many goals at schalke (in a weaker league than the PL) , kdb's become the greatest number 10 in the world, david silva (a premier league legend) improved, do I need to go on? okay, stones (garbage at everton) is on of PL's best defenders.....mate just delete your account
@daconrad15 I wouldn't say Stones was garbage at Everton... Pep isn't known for splashing out money on shit players, much less a few pennies short of £50 million. Although relative to how good he is now, you might be right. :)
Otamendi, on the other hand, was in fact pretty garbage at City, pre-Pep. About as big a mistake waiting to happen as Dejan Lovren. I'd say he's pushed him up a notch or ten. Now if he had only managed to do the same thing with Mangala...
Disclosure: I'm NOT a Man City fan. But great football is great football.
@Motorbreath almost everyone improved. Look at Danilo too, he seemed to be over as a player after Madrid. Delph and Zinchenko as leftbacks? Fernandinho was always good, but became really a key player under Pep. Bernardo is turning to be a beast too. And every player is a huge personality, they are not just a label with a price. Is ridiculous how many deluded commentators do not see the obvious things.
@tar88s I absolutely agree. He took a good squad, with some good, some mediocre and a few great players, and turned it into a highly entertaining, world-class football machine. Sure he's been backed by the club in the recruitment department, but shouldn't that be a given regardless of club and manager? Klopp has done the same at Liverpool, albeit by wising up a bit later than Pep. He initially scoffed at paying "astronomical" prices for top players, but he admitted after his first full season that he realized "you don't get a badge" for positive transfer spend in the PL. Luckily the club ownership backed him up, which is more than could be said about other clubs. Sad to see Newcastle struggle due to lack of financial backing by Mike Ashley, when they have a gem of a manager. Same could be said about Chelsea too, although the kind of backing their managers have historically lacked is not financial.
20 - 2 shots and only 1-0 through a penalty ...
@neumi17 the game looked weird, seemed like a friendly sometimes. City created chances with ease on the beginning, but they finished like amateurs in many episodes. The only explanation is fatigue. Players are tired, both mentally and physically. And penalty was soft I have to say, but they get these decisions very rarely, unlike their opponents.
@neumi17 Fabianski MoTM and apparently the best goalie in PL, according to his stats on here. Not too shabby for a 33-year-old who lost his place in the national team and got relegated last season.
Bums will start to squeak if there is no goal in the next 6 or 8 minutes. City are hardly suffering a cup final reaction?
All shots in the match did by City Player. But Still 0-0 ckckck
Sané + Silva + de Bruyne + Agüero = 3 or more goals
@furyqq I'll be shocked if Man City could score more than 2 goals. It's obviously a 2-1 home win.
1-2, Fernandinho out
@ediboxy lol,,stupid dream,,,
@DeGeST Not unthinkable. Look at the games they've lost this season, Fernandinho was either absent or played significantly below par. He doesn't make the headlines, but he's without a doubt their most influential player, whom they don't have a decent like-for-like backup for.
West Ham to score for 1.90? Hell yea. Now is great opportunity for it. City without Fernandinho in the midfield are a lot weaker + Laporte their best defender is out.
