Kompany, Aguero, Fernandinho, Silva - good old days... All 4 played important role in the match. McCarthy save after Sterling shot reminded me of Scott Sterling penalty shootout:)))
@tar88s Hójbjerg didn't slide dangerously into him with his legs crashing into his ! It was a certainly a foul but he couldn't have harmed Fernandinho, since he just trapped his feet.
@neumi17 yes, he didn`t crush the legs and good for Fernandinho - it could have been much worse. That kind of brutal tackles has nothing to do in the game of football. Red cards need to be given not only when someone is injured. The more aggressive players are suspended, the more healthy other players are and better football we see. So many broken bones, careers and lives already... That is my point.
Fernandinhho's back, city win easily.. Pep should think to look for teh best DM in the winter transfer window to compete in Champions League and Premier League off course
Beauty goal from Saints. Also nice definition from Kun, however IMO McCarthy should have done something, the cross was really good but at the same the GK had enough time to leave the arc instead off stayed quiet.-
@dib McCarthy should have kept out two of the goals. The Zinchenko to Aguero goal is dreadful from Southampton. Cross under no pressure. Then no one contests Aguero. Neither Bednarek or Targett take responsibility to contest an aerial duel with Aguero. Then McCarthy's slow and weak to react, isn't willing to put himself on the line to keep it out. Weak from Southampton.
I believe it's fair to say that winning such a competitive league as the EPL is as big an achievement as winning the UCL. Especially since there is so much luck involved in the CL.
@leZickzack The EPL has more high pressure games than the UCL, that's why I'm saying it's a as big an achievement to win it. Any big 6 team will have at least 10 high pressure games per season: against the other 5 + great surprise performances from the others.
@GioMonaldo - No league match can be as high pressure as a knockout competition match, especially in the CL, the elite of the elite. Win and continue, or lose and go home; that pressure is higher, no matter whom you need to play.
Saints players are a bit unfortunate their manager arrival has coincided with the tight fixture list. They looked tired against West Ham and the quality of Anderson was too much, as well as West Ham being the better side overall despite being the away side. Hassenhuttl needs to chop and change wisely here to freshen up and bolster his side. We have seen saints crumble under any sort of pressure so need to bring the heat with a high press from minute one and try to survive with 3 changes before 70 mins for fresh legs. In reality the quality of the players isn’t comparable, but it wasn’t really when arsenal showed up here and they got beat so you never know. Most likely is Man City by 2 or more though I think. I hope saints can prove me wrong
I've liked Southampton's performances since Hassenhuttl's arrival and I wouldn't be surprised if they scored at least once against shaky City defense. Guardiola's side need a strong response but it would be also important rotate few players for a huge much against Liverpool. Bernardo Silva should be given rest since he's played a lot and he's needed against Pool, either in midfield or as right forward. KDB and David Silva may not be involved for 90 mins yet but their comeback from their injuries is a big boost for City, I think people tend to forget City have been constantly without at least couple of their key players (probably because they have so large squad). This could be quite entertaining and open match but City should definitely win despite their recent struggles: 1-3.

That wasn't a red card !
@neumi17 absolutely fair red card. Fernandinho got lucky with that tackle. That type of challenges is black side of football

@neumi17 and Happy New Year by the way;)

@3dshanty7 They are talking about Fabregas to move to MC this winter (source : Radio Marca this day)
@3dshanty7 Man City have been lucky. The fact he's on the field isn't relevant to the scoreline.

@Champion Completely agree. At his defense, he made a couple of good savings in the 2nd half.
City will slip
@footballover Tonight ?

@GioMonaldo with the amount city spends its not fair
@BarcaPlsLetMeDown not fair to other clubs, sure, but I'm talking about the similar levels of difficulty between those two comps.
@GioMonaldo that depends on the answer of the age old question: is it more difficult to win one high pressure game or win 10 lower pressure games
@leZickzack The EPL has more high pressure games than the UCL, that's why I'm saying it's a as big an achievement to win it. Any big 6 team will have at least 10 high pressure games per season: against the other 5 + great surprise performances from the others.

I think Southampton having a chance to win here.
@xavistu hm,no.
some child as wing back in Southampton. Fernandinho back in City means over 3.0 and away win, 1-4 or 0-4
@koziol.mutant I'll be shocked if Citeh do not win 2-1.
1-1 Draw
Man City sure win, i bet with everything i own in this match
@Cannavaro69 22% free return of investment
man city 7-1 Southampton
Prolly Mahrez will start and i expect MOM performance from him. City to asnwer, 10 points looks out of radar now
Southampton 1-3 man city
2-0 City.
