Team News

Arsenal
Fulham
  • Arsenal were hammered 5-1 by Liverpool on Saturday and Unai Emery will almost certainly make changes here.
  • Alexandre Lacazette started another big match on the bench and will start against Fulham on New Year's Day.
  • Matteo Guendouzi and Laurent Koscielny may also return to the starting XI on Tuesday.
  • Shkodran Mustafi was hauled off at half-time at Anfield and may make way for Koscielny from the start here.
  • Petr Cech may even get a rare Premier League start given the quick turnaround between games.
  • Mesut Ozil, Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin all have good chances to start if they can recover from injury in time.
  • Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri was furious with Aboubakar Kamara for ignoring team orders against Huddersfield at the weekend and will surely drop the foward against Arsenal.
  • Calum Chambers cannot play against Arsenal on New Year's Day due to the terms in his loan agreement, while Alfie Mawson picked up a knee injury at the weekend and will likely also miss out for Fulham.

Prediction

  • Arsenal have only won two of their last six Premier League matches and have lost two of their last four. They are now only three points above Manchester United in fifth. This match is the start of three London derbies in a row for the Gunners.
  • Fulham are now only one point adrift of safety after beating relegation rivals Huddersfield 1-0 on Saturday. The Cottagers are unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches and have kept two clean sheets in that time.
  • Fulham have not won an away league match this season (L8, D2) but they have played away to five of the Premier League's top-six in that time. In those matches, Claudio Ranieri's side have conceded 14 goals and scored only twice.

  • Not a particularly 'shocking' result but this doesn't tell the full story. Fulham should have been a goal up, or even two, prior to Granit scoring his first goal from inside the area. They had chances throughout the game which will annoy Unai Emery who is all about controlling a match. We badly need a CB in this transfer window. Rumours are Gary Cahill. Hope that they are troll rumours put around by a Spurs fan. I would rather Pleguezuelo was given a run in the team than somebody that we know isn't good enough at this level. The best thing to come of this game is that Maitland-Niles looked good. That should keep Lichtsteiner seated for a while.

  • Does Schürrle ever have a decent game ?

  • @neumi17 He shoots well, everything else he is bad at.

  • Aubameyang finally scored... Emery changed too many tactics, even in a single match ... sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't ... it's a kind of gambling. So, please stop your experiment Boss!!!!

  • @3dshanty7- Joint top scorer in the league with better shots per goal and minutes per goal ratios than the man he is joint with. Or do you mean finally scored in this match? Bit harsh if you expect him to score in literally every game.

  • Arsenal is so boring...their defense is terrible as well...

  • @moo13- The latter is a part cause of the former. Emery bases his teams, literally all of them I've seen, on having a defensive foundation which then allow the CMs to control the game which then allows the front 3/4 (depending on formation) to express themselves. When the first cog in the wheel is broken, there is no chance of getting anything remotely turning.

  • I’ll be shocked if you guys won’t be shocked.

  • @leZickzack So you won't be shocked, congratulations

  • @KiraFabri thanks mate

  • I'll be shocked if Fullham do not win 2-1.

  • I'll be shocked if this doesn't end in a draw.

  • Arsenal 4-1

  • "Fulham's Strengths (Team has no significant strengths)" I think that pretty much sums it up.

  • 1-0

  • @watfordAlbert I'll be shocked if Fulham do not draw 2-2.

  • @SeuneMilmas I'll be shocked if you're shocked that I'm shocked.

  • what you can do with players like : Koscielny,Lichtsteiner,Elneny plus injuries curse. we can't blame Emry for the last games , the man have no choice for the XI squad. for the match ; a 3-1 win here
