Team News

Real Madrid
  • Keylor Navas should start in goal for the home side, with Thibaut Courtois still acclimatising to life at his latest club, giving the Costa Rica international further opportunity to impress.
  • Luka Modric may feature from the bench once again, with the Croatian midfielder having not long returned from his post-World Cup break.
  • Marco Asensio and Isco are both expected to start after doing so in the UEFA Super Cup defeat against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.
  • Nemanja Maksimovic should make his debut for Getafe in the centre of midfield after joining the club from Valencia during the summer on a permanent deal.
  • Angel and Jorge Molina are still expected to lead the line for the away side, despite Jose Bordalas' side bringing in both Jaime Mata and Sergi Guardiola in the transfer window.
  • Mauro Arambarri will be fit to start in the centre of midfield, after a long time on the sidelines last season. Markel Bergara, however, is out for a while.

  • The pressure is on Julen Lopetegui to earn his side a competitive victory, after spurning his first chance to lift a trophy as a coach versus Atleti earlier this week. The sooner that Los Blancos can build up some momentum, the sooner that the questions will disappear regarding his past.
  • The jury is still out on whether Real Madrid will be able to cope with the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo, as the experienced Portuguese star was a reliable source of goals across a historic legacy at Santiago Bernabeu. Getafe will defend well, as an organised unit, which won't make life easy.
  • Getafe finished just outside of the Europa League places last season, with the Madrid-based club doing some brilliant business over the summer to ensure that they have a lot of quality and depth to last them across a long campaign.

  • Real madrid with possesion of 80% tryin to be Barcelona , and they are but difference is they are barca without a ;(

  • @stefanm Lopetegui is trying to get Real Madrid to play the same brand of football which he employed when he was manager of Spain which means having lots of possession and short passes. :)

  • @spectre08 Possession type football only works, if you have players like Messi, Neymar, Hazard, Sanê or Silva. Otherwise it looks like the stuff Germany played ...

  • @neumi17 Did i say anything about this kind of football working? just stating that this is the way Real Madrid will play under Lopetegui.

  • @neumi17 Excatly real have only isco but they need someone like hazard definetly

  • 3-1 to RM, Asensio 41', Bale 69', Vazquez 83'

  • Real Madrid are a more balanced side without Ronaldo.Players were expected to pass to him at every opportunity.Real can win this 3-0 or 4-1.

  • @nexus747 Real Madrid will miss CR7, especially if they continue the attack with Benzema. Yall might hate CR7 but a 50 goals per season striker isnt exactly floating around on the transfer market right now, unless u count Tevez...

  • Expecting a big win here without Ronaldo in the team. They can make positive steps forward without it holding them back.

  • 3-0 here easy win , real madrid will focus only on la liga this football season im sure 100%. they want to try to win the league and to be constant team, they can even afford to drop in form in champions league having already won last 3. No matter what ppl say , trust me Real will take La liga seriously with Lopetegui now.

  • @stefanm i don't think Madrid care about laliga at all,,, if it happens to come along then good, but Real Madrid are all about UCL for as long as Perez is there...

  • @offside True that!!!

  • @offside posted la liga is priority this season

  • @stefanm but did they tell the players that coz marca reporters don't play in the games... I don't think the players feel that laliga is worth the trouble, thats why they r dynamite in UCL and lemons in laliga...

  • Madrid with 24 goals in 6 last matches vs Getafe... Wow.

  • Madref to win

  • @MathCatsFootball the first shot from a Barca fan already...
