Bologna
Roma
- Usual starters Erick Pulgar and Filip Helander will miss the game against Roma.
- Adám Nagy and Giancarlo Gonzalez should replace their teammates in midfield and defence, respectively.
- Bryan Cristante and Lorenzo Pellegrini should play in midfield as part of the rotation that kept them out in the Champions League.
- Diego Perotti should also replace Cengiz Under, who could be rested.
Perotti the best player for Roma, as usual...
It seems like Roma need a goalkeeper urgently.
@MrNemobody Ironic that Skorupski, Bologna's goalkeeper, today's man of the match, was a Roma player
Roma's worst performance of the season. Kluivert is, well, not ready for primetime. So predictable for any experienced defender to read, and rash. DDR was fine, but he can't play more than once a week and still cover the space he needs to. Can't understand N'Zonzi not being in there. Pellegrini was much improved but Cristante doesn't seem to know his role in the team. I still attribute Roma's low prospects to Allison leaving (last season was very good but they were very dependent on him, and Olsen is no more than mid table quality) and no real overhaul of defence - Fazio is not much more than a set piece player at this point. Radja and Strootman leaving I can understand and some patience is needed in that regard. They looked like they'd probably stutter to a 1-0 win before Mattiello's brilliant goal from nowhere. But there's no excuse, Bologna are poor and evenat 2-0 you have to score against them at least.
@dSquib big mistake starting Kluivert. Maybe EDF thought it was "only" Bologna but Kluivert's really no different than any other youngsters. He's only good as a supersub against tiring defenders for now, build his confidence slowly like Under. They need to try and change to 4-2-3-1, Cristante is wasted on central midfield. The guy scored 10 playing as a second striker/CAM hybrid last season.
Kluivert is starting according to his coach
Bologna suck, Roma will win 100%
@L.Acrobat Thanks for your prediction scoop you were spot on. 100% Roma win!!!
@L.Acrobat Roma suck
Its time for Rome to win , and they can do it today
1-1
Roma need to stick with largely the same XI for a while because rotation is not conducive to hitting form. The midfield trio certainly needs to remain the same and the best trio are Pellegrini/N'Zonzi/Cristante. The two young bucks are going to have poor games or make mistakes, you have to keep faith and hope that they are as good as you think they are. N'Zonzi offers you 5x what deRossi does and I'm pretty sure if Daniele wasn't a Roman, he would have been out by now. Roma did this with Totti as well. There is no place for sentiment in sport. It kills you. Best to start a midfield who can be there for 3 or 4 seasons sooner rather than later so they adapt to each other and build chemistry. Roma play Bologna, Frosinone, Lazio, Plzen, Empoli, SPAL and CSKA before an away trip to Napoli (which will be the real Litmus test). It makes no sense to chop-and-change then end up losing to Napoli anyway. I would like the GK, 2 CBs, midfield trio and Dzeko to remain the same for those 6 games.
*sigh* The good news is, it's Bologna.Things were never likely to click against Real. This would be a good time to rest DDR and try N'Zonzi with Pellegrini and Cristante instead. Perotti isn't great but the control he has, that the younger wingers lack, is welcome, especially with Pastore absent. 2-0 Roma.
