Netherlands should've won this game... They wasted so many perfect opportunities that it's a crime. Germany won just because they were a little bit more effective in front of the goal, that's it. If Netherlands had a forward like Sane to play along Depay and not Babel, it would've been a lot different.
@specter In football things usually always equal out after a while. In recent games Germany always got unlucky with their conversions of great opportunities and lost many points therefore. This time it was finally the other way around and they could benefit from Babels inability to score.
The Dutch were very wasteful. They received so many gifts from the German defense but they never bothered opening them. C'mon bruh, at least take a peek inside! maybe it's that really cool train set you always wanted.
In all honesty Netherlands deserved the victory. Germany were honestly lucky with the victory. Schulz you beauty.
Frenkie De Jong-Germany had no answer to stop him especially when he makes those run from the deep and his defensive game was top notch making insane 9 tackles.
Germany defence like usual was suspect. They were bad at clearing the second ball in their defence that is how Depay scored his first goal. How Netherlands scored first goal from a freaking cross? Schulz is 5'11. Kehere 6'1.5, Rudiger 6'3, Ginter 6'3 and Sule 6'4.
The only positive of this match is that Schulz is a world class left back. He can provide width. He is quick and he can defend. Whereas Kehrer is just average right back at best. He is limited. He can't provide width. I don't know what kind of issue Low has with Mitch Weiser but he is clearly the right back we need right now. Not Ginter (Low true stupidity). Not Klosterman and definitely not that crap Keherer. Only Weiser and Schulz.
@Ffaris Naturally I’m biased but Netherland had a high volume of shots from outside the box and there shots on target came from set pieces whereas Germany’s resulted from open play (which I rate more)
@leZickzack I don't think any of two goals Netherlands scored came outside the box. Though I do agree the majority of their shot were outside the box. Germany are still in a team in transition set in course for a right path.
@Ffaris just f off. Germany were deserved winner and they should have in the last match they played against NL as well.
NL got outplayed last time around. This time it was slightly close tho.
@BeautifulLoser typo mate. But I stand with what I said. Germany were lucky wit the victory. Still happy with it though. But Netherlands were the better team in the second half. German defence like usual was a comedy of errors.
@Ffaris Germany was the much better team in the first half, Holland the much better team in the second half. Usually it ends 2-2 then ...But the Netherlands are always in attack mode so the opened up their defence at the end, instead of securing the draw. So the 3-2 is not undeserved despite the pressure Holland put on Germany in the second half.
@neumi17 After conceding 2 goals. In my opinion he should’ve subbed Gündogan in as soon as Netherlands won every ball immediately after they lost and Germany couldn’t keep the ball. Goretzka is just not good against a high press.
This is genuinely the first time in my life that I can call the Dutch national side a "team" rather than 11 individuals. It's also the first time (that I can remember) that the perennial starting XI consistently play well despite containing fewer than 3 world class players. This side contains just one (Van Dijk) with another potential (de Ligt). The team spirit, unity and adherence to the ethos which Koeman has set out are the only attributes fundamentally missing from previous Dutch teams which contained far better personnel but they prevented said teams from realising their potential. As for Germany, I want to see a spark, a specific, proactive game-plan which doesn't equate to smothering possession and hoping for a piece of individual magic to win the game. I can't see past a Holland win but Germany do have the potential. It must be frustrating for their fans.
@MrNemobody Its been half an hour and he's made two great saves. Even on a bad day Neuer is one of the best. As for Hummels and Müller being dropped: After the world cup Lowe wants to bring some fresh faces into the squad, and since Germany have always been known for their incredible discipline and team ethics, those players need to be tested, and a not so important game against a in form Holland team is the perfect test for the new lads.
I want to see Kroos paired with Sule and Kimmich as RB.
Kimmich is not that good in midfield except for winning balls, he might do better as RB while Sule can be a better cover for Toni Kroos. With Sule he can tear Netherlands midfield.
@yash8117 His biggest weakness is his bad first touch. Otherwise he’s great and often people underestimate how much of a difference it makes to have a midfielder that covers as much space as Kimmich or for instance Kanté do. It makes every midfielder around miles better.
@leZickzack Reported by mistake.
Yep thats what I'm saying. FB have a touch which helps them run forward with the ball. Same is with Kimmich. He has to play something like a midfielder who covers space in front of CBs. Otherwise I don't see why anyone else like Gundogan can't play in midfield.
Brandt is certainly not gonna play ! His performances in recent games for the national team had mostly be poor. It's either gonna be Sané - Werner - Gnabry or Sané - Werner - Reus
Germany with some speed and offensive power but without an even solid defence or good forwards. It can't get worse than Timo Werner ... So the hopes lie in Reus, Sané, Kroos, Gnabry and ter Stegen. The rest is mediocre or trash. If Germany gets lucky it will be a draw, otherwise 2-1 Netherlands ...
Throw in was 32:10. Here is mistake

If Netherlands had a forward like Sane to play along Depay and not Babel, it would've been a lot different.
@specter IF Germany had a centre-back like Van Dijk, the Dutch might not even have come back with two goals down. Bad excuse.
@specter In football things usually always equal out after a while. In recent games Germany always got unlucky with their conversions of great opportunities and lost many points therefore. This time it was finally the other way around and they could benefit from Babels inability to score.
What worries me is that Germany conceded 8 shots (!) (50%) from set pieces with a back three and a considerable height advantage. This mustn’t happen.
The Dutch were very wasteful. They received so many gifts from the German defense but they never bothered opening them. C'mon bruh, at least take a peek inside! maybe it's that really cool train set you always wanted.

@Ffaris I totally agree !
@neumi17 Except that they totally deserve the victory but with your analysis of the players.
@Ffaris Schulz is criminally underrated
@Forcepain oh he is. He even saved Germany hiney against Peru.
@Ffaris Naturally I’m biased but Netherland had a high volume of shots from outside the box and there shots on target came from set pieces whereas Germany’s resulted from open play (which I rate more)

Cracking game.
Yet again Löw isn’t able to cope with the tactical changes of the opposing team.
@leZickzack It just keeps happening lol
@leZickzack He just did though ;-))) Substitute Gündogan to substitute Reus ...
@neumi17 After conceding 2 goals. In my opinion he should’ve subbed Gündogan in as soon as Netherlands won every ball immediately after they lost and Germany couldn’t keep the ball. Goretzka is just not good against a high press.
Germany have been awful in the 2nd half..very defensive..
@spectre08 That had to do with the Dutch, who were much more aggressive and active in the second half.
@neumi17 Yes they were very intense but wasteful in the end and Germany pounced giving them a much needed victory over a good team.
Wow, didn't expect that ! Best game of Germany in years ! And what a goal of Gnabry, world class ... Sané good also
@neumi17- Even Ruediger is playing well.
@SteveHyland So, so in the second half ...
@neumi17- Yeah, a noticeable drop-off in the 2nd half.
Germany looks hungry, motivated, finally. What a half
Germany win to nil

@SteveHyland Yet De Jong looked best despite your overlooking him.
@DeanO- He played well and is a good young talent. We'll see how he develops once teams cotton on how to play against him.
Why Hummels and Müller are dropped but Neuer, having an awful season, remains first choice?
@MrNemobody Its been half an hour and he's made two great saves. Even on a bad day Neuer is one of the best. De Jong vs Kroos gonna be more exciting next season. This one is just an appetizer.
