Team News

Man Utd
  • Ben Godfrey, who was linked with a move to Manchester United, has declared himself fit to play against the Red Devils on Sunday despite being forced off last weekend.
  • Alexander Tettey, Onel Hernandez, Tim Krul and Todd Cantwell all recovered from injury to feature in their 0-0 draw with Bournemouth, as Norwich's injury woes start to ease.
  • Ralf Fahrmann is closing in on a first-team return though it is unclear whether Sunday will come too soon for the German.
  • Daniel Farke's is still expected to be without four players for the reception of United this weekend.
  • Marco Stiepermann will hope for a recall on Sunday but Tettey could get the nod if Farke opts for greater defensive stability in midfield to try and frustrate United.
  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has played a three-man defence in Manchester United's last two matches, which suggests he will persist with that system here.
  • Marcos Rojo or Phil Jones will take up the third spot in central defence if Axel Tuanzebe fails to recover from an injury in time.
  • David de Gea has been nursing a groin problem since the international break but is expected to resume his responsibilities in goal after Sergio Romero started on Thursday.
  • Neither Anthony Martial nor Jesse Lingard looked anywhere close to full match fitness in Belgrade in midweek and may drop to the bench on Sunday.
  • United are expected to be without Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Luke Shaw against Norwich, though all three are closing in on first-team returns.
  • Ashley Young is the natural replacement for Shaw at left-back but Solskjaer may be tempted to hand 19-year-old Brandon Williams a full Premier League debut after his eye-catching display on Thursday.
  • Andreas Pereira and Fred will hope to keep their places in the team after promising displays against Liverpool.

  • Norwich have failed to win their last four matches and have lost three times in that spell. Their two Premier League victories this season have come at home, however, including a 3-2 win over Manchester City.
  • Manchester United almost dealt Liverpool their first Premier League defeat of the season last weekend, though they still ended up stopping their 100 per cent start to the league campaign.
  • It was a promising display from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side and they must use that as a springboard to push on. However, after watching Thursday's display in Serbia you cannot confidently say they will do that.
  • This is the first meeting between the two sides since 2016 when United left Carrow Road with a 1-0 win courtesy of a goal from Juan Mata. Expect another close match on Sunday.
