Team News

  • Tom Cleverley was forced off after 10 minutes in the 0-0 draw with Bournemouth, which could see Will Hughes come into the XI.
  • Cleverley joins Danny Welbeck, Troy Deeney and Domingos Quina on the sidelines, while Isaac Success, Ismaila Sarr and Etienne Capoue are doubts.
  • Roberto Pereyra may continue up front alongside Gerard Deulofeu for Watford.
  • Emerson has suffered a minor setback, which should see Marcos Alonso continue at left-back for Chelsea.
  • N'Golo Kante and Ross Barkley are edging closer to fitness, though it remains to be seen whether the pair will be fit for the trip to Watford.
  • Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger all miss out for the Blues, however.
  • Frank Lampard could name the same XI that started the 4-2 win at Burnley last weekend.

  • Watford were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Everton in midweek, which extended their winless run to five matches. Still yet to win a Premier League match this season, the table footing Hornets need to start turning draws into wins if they are to take flight and close the gap between themselves and safety.
  • Chelsea saw a seven-match winning streak come to an end at the hands of Manchester United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. Away from home, the Blues are on a six-match winning run and they'll be looking to add to that record at Vicarage Road, where they have won four of their last six.
  • Quique Sanchez Flores has made Watford tough to beat following his return a to the Vicarage Road helm, but Chelsea should have enough to eke out the three points.
