  • cam you update this please, Bernardo should be MOTM he has better stats you haven even put the W above his name for hitting the woodwork as well

  • demolition job by the CoE

  • Bernardo Silva should be Man of the Match, he has better stats than Salah

  • @barkley in my opinion he should be replaced by Mahrez who is more efficient due to his goalscoring and creating chances skills (see his stats). Also Mahrez played always very well against Liverpool. Bernardo is like Zaha dribbling but not giving dangerous passes. Something always bother me and i repeted it 1000 times, our players miss a lot of chances in every game despite their goals tally. They are bad finishers or not as good as liverpool front line.

  • What's the point of having superior possession and passing accuracy, only to lose to a rival by an embarrassing 3-1 score? What's the point of Pep Fraudiola, really?

  • @SeuneMilmas Point is winning two EPL titles with a record 198 points. The point is converting a mediocre (and still rich) MC team to a title contender. The point is he's the best manager of all time.

  • @nikoanzai Two EPL titles out of three seasons with a points total of 276 points, to be more intellectually honest. Let's not forget that the bald fraud's points record was achieved with the good fortune of managing the most expensively assembled squad of all time. He also inherited a CL semi-finalist that boasted the likes of Sterling, Aguero, Kompany, Silva, De Bruyne, Fernandinho. Mediocre? What mediocre?

  • For everybody bashing City for being cursed at Anfield, Liverpool is cursed against United. No matter how bad United is, Liverpool always struggles with them. It's already happened once this season.

  • @nizzle United always save their best performance of the season for Liverpool. They have fallen so far as a club Liverpool is the only match of any importance to them, it's their cup final. And it still didn't stop us blasting them 3-1 last season.

  • How about the 2nd Liverpool goal? It looked like offside. Also City created enough not to lose this game at least.

  • @tar88s It was checked by VAR and was clearly onside. The commentary said it looked offside because they were looking at Salah in comparison to the closest City player. Jon Stones was further away from Salah but was the deepest City player and played Salah on by a few inches.

  • @tar88s Well no it didn't it was quite clearly onside. Love how City fans are talking about narrow but correct decisions as the greatest injustices in the history of football.

  • @Nico1 Well, not more then Liverpool fans, every time complaining they were not given penalties when they do not win . Who would have complained though about penalties, lol

  • The bitterness on here is outstanding! The ball pings onto Bernardo Silvas arm then pings onto Arnolds arm and people saying that's a penalty? Both were accidental. Look at the clip in real time (rather than slow motion) and you'll see neither player had a chance to move their arm out the way. Absolutely the correct decision. For the 1st 70 minutes Liverpool dominated. The only reason City had a slight chance at the end was because Liverpool switched off thinking the game was won. Ultimately though over the course of the match Liverpool were far more clinical and deserved the victory. If City fans want something to blame, blame Aguero. Bottled it at Anfield yet again missing 2 good chances. Still never scored at Anfield. Sterling still never scored at Anfield for City. Liverpool not lost at home to City in 19 matches now. Klopp extends winning record over Guardiola. Mane scores 17th goal in last 16 league games at Anfield. City fans and Kompany can go suck lemons!

  • @Nico1 if there was Bernardo Silva "offense" arm - then should not be Liverpool awarded a free-kick in that case?

  • @tar88s No, it's called advantage.

  • @tar88s No

  • @tar88s No, not every time the ball hits the hand does the ref have to blow the whistle, that's not the rule. Both handballs were accidental with hands in natural positions. Neither were fouls so play on.

  • This is not how VAR is supposed to work. I've rarely seen the PL refs actually head to that little screen, watch the damn replay and form their own opinion - and take responsibility for it, like in every other league. All they do is wait for 3 other people sitting in a room to tell them what THEY think about a play, and he takes their word for it. Oliver is a head referee for a reason. Even I could probably referee that game decently enough, given the VAR refs are competent enough. They've taken the game "pace" excuse to another level. If the end result is tampered with this much, then it doesn't even matter. Disgraceful.

  • @Sehff There ISN'T a screen for BPL refs to look at, the rules are different for both competitions. Also BPL is the slowest of all leagues/competition in Europe top 5 leagues to implement VAR.

  • @Sehff hater, why don't you want Liverpool to win EPL? even if they do it with help from refs.

  • Pretty good result for City considering the fact they played against two teams, Liverpool and VAR.

  • How can Salah be above Bernardo Silva? Bernardo's stats are much better. Just because his team lost doesn't mean he shouldn't get MOTM.

  • @barkley If you compare the stats you see, that Salah is slightly better than Silva ( Shots on goal, dispossessed )

  • @neumi17 not really Bernardo has better passing stats and better defensive stats he should MOTM

  • @barkley you are correct, Bernardo is MOTM but at least they got the top 3 highest rated players right.

  • Next game Chelsea vs City, big momentum for Chelsea.

  • @Patrikovic Draw written all over it.

  • @Patrikovic This game is at City and will be a draw i think.Depends what players come back injured from international duty.

  • @nexus747 This has a Chelsea win written all over it.

  • The Sky pundits were unanimous that it should've been a pen for Man City instead of a Liverpool goal in the sixth minute. Let's wait and see what the verdict will be in MOTD.

  • @Maarten No they weren't only Kompany (obviously) claimed it was a clear pen. The other 4 all said it's a 50/50 decision.

  • @Nico1 So should Liverpool have been awarded a penalty in the UCL final 2019?

  • @Nico1 @Nico1 Sure... The broadcaster concluded the half-time studio talk by calling it an unanimous opinion among the Sky pundits. Did you hear any protest from his guests? As expected, they reached the same conclusion in MOTD. Even former Red Peter Crouch found it an obvious penalty!

  • @Maarten there is no scenario in which a penalty could be awarded. The ball strikes Silva's arm first. If the ball strikes the attacking players hand, intentional or not, a goal or penalty cannot be awarded. See the disallowed city goal vs Spurs and Manes vs United. These are the rules, they are objective and not up for debate. I find it incredible that professional pundits don't know or ignore this fact. You can argue that the play should have been stopped for a Liverpool free out, but in that case it's the referees decision to play advantage. I don't know whether or not the ref did play advantage or just allowed play to continue. Either way the play continues and he deems Alexander Arnold's handball to be unintentional. This is where the debate lies. If he deems it a penalty he's obliged to pull it back for the earlier handball and award a free out. He doesn't as the ball comes to him at speed, having already taken a deflection off Silva's arm. Thus a legitimate goal is scored.

  • @UppaRa You're wrong. Here are the new rules: [T]he following scenarios will result in a free-kick even if accidental: if the ball goes into the goal after touching an attacking player’s hand or arm a player gains control/possession of the ball after it touches their hand/arm and then scores, or creates a goal-scoring opportunity a ball touches a player’s hand/arm which has made their body unnaturally bigger the ball touches a player’s hand/arm when it is above their shoulder (unless the player has deliberately played the ball which then touches their hand/arm) However, the following will not usually be a free-kick unless they are one of the above situations: the ball touches a player’s hand/arm directly from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player who is close/near ... Silva's was no handball because it was accidental and didn't lead to a goalscoring opportunity. TAA's was handball, though, since he stood 9 m away.

  • @Maarten "players will be allowed extra leeway when it comes to ricocheted handballs. It is often impossible to avoid contact with the ball if it has deflected off the body of an opponent, team-mate, or even another part of the own player. So a handball will not be awarded if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm directly from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player who is close/nearby. " There you go, leeway was applied and play continued.

  • @UppaRa It is funny, btw, how all of a sudden you ignore the attacker's handball, while earlier you claimed: "The ball strikes Silva's arm first. If the ball strikes the attacking players hand, intentional or not, a goal or penalty cannot be awarded. (...) You can argue that the play should have been stopped for a Liverpool free out, but in that case it's the referees decision to play advantage." You're not so sure about the rules after all? I understand that, since you misinterpreted them in your earlier post. And like the pundits said: it's a shocker that TAA got away with that handball considering he moved his hand towards the ball instead of pulling his arm back. The only reason why the officials would refuse to award that pen, is because they feared the Liverpool faithful. Apparently, the rules aren't the same for everyone and Liverpool players are allowed a little bit more in important games than other players. But we already knew that from the 2017-2018 UCL QFs, didn't we?

  • @Maarten I understood the rule exactly as it is written, Mike Riley has since clarified that if the ball doesn't go in the net the play continues as normal. Which sounds ridiculous, it's a foul if a it's a goal but play goes on if it's not. What a ridiculously inconsistent rule. Surely this will encourage diving, if an attacking player knows the ball has hit his hand he knows a goal will be disallowed, but a penalty won't. Back to the point, the ref judged it not to be a deliberate handball because his hand was in a natural position, he's changing direction after a full sprint, impossible with your hands behind your back. When he sees the deflection he attempts to bring his arms by his side. Distance isn't the only thing considered, deflections and speed of the ball also influence the decision, of which there were both. Again, leeway was applied, we won, you lost. And you, like your petulant little manager, players and fans, can't handle it.

  • @UppaRa 9 m is too much for that rule to apply. All the pundits, both in the Sky and MOTD studios, agreed on that.

  • Chelsea and Leicester are both capable of staying above city in the table.Frank has done an amazing job with the kids at Chelsea.

  • It's sad that EPL is the only one out of the big 4 Leagues that is still competitive, not just being farmed by 1 team and where standards remain high.

  • @benj EPL is a joke shit refereeing, teams that concede 9 goals in a single match and even the top 4 including City and Loserpool look average to me..

  • Loserpool fans are happy about 2 or 3 trophies after spending hundreds of millions while Barca wins them all in a single season heck Barca won 6 trophies alone in 2009 equalling Loserpool number of trophies won in 15 yeara hahaha

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 You sure are crazy as in your username. Can you just remove "Barca" from it? I hate to be put into the same category as you.

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 Corner taken quickly... ORIGI!!!!

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 bro, you are making actual real Barca fans look bad, go away wannabe

  • Any decision in the first goal would be controversial. If they disallowed the goal, Liverpool would complain, because it WAS a foul before (this isn't debatable). And it COULD be a penalty afterwards. I think the decision was the best, considering they didn't stop after Man City's foul. Aguero shouldn't give up the play to complain.

  • @MrNemobody It cannot be a PK because Silva touched the ball with his hand first. It also cannot be a brought back for a Liverpool FK because: 1. It's 90 yards away from the other end. 2. City had possession of the ball before the goal. Also, from the BPL rules: Deflections Premier League players will be allowed extra leeway when it comes to ricocheted handballs. So it's not a FK to Liverpool or PK to City since it's not a handball from Silva nor Trent.

  • Since Messi's debut Loserpool 6 trophies Messi 34 trophies Messi alone is greater than the entire history of Loserpool..

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 Incredibility salty, get a life mate. Go jerk off to 'Messi- Best goals 2015' or some shite on youtube.

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 A big shit here

  • I think Chelsea and Leicester will be motivated that City are now below them in the table.

  • City down to 4th and could be in Europa league next season :)

  • @nexus747 They will win Europa League next season, mark my words.

  • VAR = Video Assisting Reds

  • Man City did well to get back into the game, and it ended up fairly even overall. Liverpool generally crossed into better areas, and City's goal came from a cross that was quite lucky to find Silva in space (it took a deflection and several Liverpool defenders missed it).

  • @What4 City were taken apart here by the Champions of Europe

  • Despite all the refs help and Mane dives in previous matches.. Winning a single league title in 30 years by a team that is supposed to be one of the top 3 clubs in English history is the biggest joke in the entire 150 years of English football..

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 You have every right to cry, just let it out, It would be easyer for you.

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 you are all over the comment section

  • 6' 1-0 instead of an exspected 0-1. So even when Man City play without Laporte, David Silva, Ederson, Sané, Rodrigo and Zinchenko, the officials feel the need to gift Liverpool with a two-goal headstart against their rivals? Pundits: "You don't want to disappoint the Liverpool fans by disallowing Fabinho's beauty and giving Man City a penalty instead." What the heck?!

  • @Maarten it hits silva arm first you damn fools

  • Fabinho. Class act.

  • This year it will be the other way around. Liverpool is gonna win the league and City the CL ...

  • @neumi17 City and PSG will never win UCL.

  • @neumi17 Nah City will never win the CL with this defence...

  • @neumi17 City will never win CL.

  • Liverpool best NBA team.

  • Wasnt Michael Oliver kicked out of football why is he referin this game?So FA tryin to carry liverpool rly hard i see.

  • @svetoslav VAR = Video Assisting Reds

  • @svetoslav How can you say that after last weeks officiating?

  • Pep will blame the pitch or VAR after losing.Maybe saying his players are too tired.:)

  • @nexus747 He is 100% right the refs denied City 2 penalties including one where Loserpool scores and awarded Loserpool an offside goal.. Anyway Loserpool winning 1 league title in 30 years is still the biggest joke in history of English football hahaha...

  • Poor Sterling, his team-mates aren't really sticking up for him when he's getting rough-housed.

  • Man City's run to the 1st place: Directed by Robert B. Weide

  • From 1-2 City win to 3-1 Loserpool win this is the power of corrupt officials.. This is exactly how Real Madrid won 3 consecutive UCL titles and how Loserpool will win a single Premier League in 30 years.

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 Says the salty uefalona dog..Quite ironic.

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 Still sore about that 0:4, aren't we...?

  • In front of the referee. Clean handball two times. Where is VAR? #RIP EPL

  • @tuhin By Bernado Silva?

  • @tuhin Hand close to his body plus the proximity (could not do anything)...never a penalty. Learn the rules before commenting...

  • @tuhin its clear that the refs had their orders no VAR in this game at least for Loserpool

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 It is so funny reading all these salty comments from a Barcelona fan...oh the irony...

  • @moo13 LoL...see clearly the shot and know rules yourself :D

  • I have to recognize : this time it was a clear penalty from Alexander Arnold, 1st one ball rebounded on him after a previous rebound so no penalty; but, this time looked he moved his left arm on purpose

  • VAR has one mission in EPL: to stop City at any cost. How was that not given as a penalty?

  • @GioMonaldo B. Silva used his hand first...

  • @Ferguson no he didn't, his hand was in a natural position, learn the rules noob

  • I see Pep in PSG next season.

  • Bookmakers have suspended betting for Pep Fraudiola to be the next manager to be sacked.

  • @SeuneMilmas Pep said this week he would like to manage in Italy when his Man city contract expires next season. It It could now be sooner than he thinks.

  • @nexus747 pep wont go to italy, theres no more money in Italy,,, PeP to PsG

  • @nexus747 It should have been much sooner, considering his failure to reach a single Champions League final in three seasons at City. Surely the bald fraud can do better after spending more than half a billion quid at the club?

  • Mourinho will have a dig at pep later in the media if it stays like this. They absolutely hate each other and Jose will do his best to wind pep up.

  • @nexus747 how can a jobless joke wind up the most successful manager in modern football?

  • This is turning into as big disappointment as yesterday's "der Klassiker". Good to see Liverpool at their best, though.

  • Least rated Liverpool player more rated than the most rated Man City player

  • @obynomma That doesn't mean anything. KDB could've had a hattrick of assists, but look at his rating.

  • Pep was loosing big time vs Borussija and Wolfsburg while in Bayern. His tactic is efficient vs weaker clubs, but against strong counterattacking teams he loses.

  • More woes for Man City. Waiting for goal number 4

  • I would like to see a 5-0 as pep will go crazy at the media as he looks for excuses. He did the same at Barca and Bayern when they had bad runs.

  • Mane Ballon d'Or, best player in the World.

  • @Patrikovic LOL not even best in England.

  • @GioMonaldo I know what you mean but between van Dyke and him I am sure he is better.

  • @Patrikovic no, check the EPL player ratings on this site and see where Mane and VVD are. PS: they're not even on the first page.

  • R.I.P. Guardiola.

  • City have self destructed. :)

  • City is playing like crap. Dont know whats happenin with them, I suppose Pep wont be there next season.

  • Liverpool will just play on the counter attack in the 2nd half which will hurt City as Pep will bring on Jesus as an extra attacker and leave spaces at the back.City central defenders very dodgy.

  • City are better at passing the ball around, Liverpool are better at everything else, they deserve the title.

  • Even the rating clearly shows that Liverpool is a better side

  • Great match so far. Worthy of the 2 best teams atm

  • Brutal execution by the Best team in the world, the celebration next spring will be epic.

  • If Liverpool win this i can then see them going 12-15 points clear at the top over the next month or so.

  • Second goao Salah was offside first goal was a City penalty.. What a joke! Just give Loserpool the title already

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 I agree about the clear and obvious penalty but don't think Salah was offside there.

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 Lol no he wasn't, VAR proved there was no offside. And no that wasn't a penalty because City player was the first to play with a hand.Good call by a ref to play the advantage.

  • @moo13 "VAR proved" LOL! VAR only proved that they are sh*t in England.

  • @Maarten You could see on the slow-mo that Salah was at least a half a meter behind the defense, stop embarrassing yourself...

  • @moo13 I wasn't talking about the goal, I was replying to his assertion that VAR can be used as "proof" for good refereeing decisions. That is clearly not the case in England and recent MOTD episodes have advanced multiple incidents to that effect.

  • @Maarten I think you are confused, maybe try reading the entire "discussion"...this time try with some understanding...

  • @moo13 The rest of the discussion is irrelevant. You said "VAR proved there was no offside". That statement is quite laughable considering VAR's poor reputation in England.

  • @Maarten It doesn't matter what the reputation is, the fact is VAR slow-mo showed Salah was BEHIND the City defense...so yes, it proved there was no offside. Do you want me to try to explain it to you in simple English?

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 are watching the same match?

  • @Mohamed_Shaker yes...

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 dont cry baby boy

  • 2:0 to liverpool's side because no ZINCHENKO no party

  • Mourinho waiting to take over at City. :)

  • City look stunned after going 2-0 down so early.

  • Lol at the comments, enough salt to turn the Atlantic into the dead sea

  • @Koalaa greta thunberg, switch to your real account please

  • Looks like Loserpool bought the referees that why they didnt make any transfers this season. This league is a joke its even worse than Real Madrid thievery..

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 We didn't see any clear replays of the offside incident, did we?

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 sorry bro. Your Loserpool is going 9 points clear

  • Looked to me like TAA had time to move his arm away on that one. Lucky.

  • @What4 Thanks. The commentators on the radio agree.

  • @MEHJones You never know with VAR recently

  • Bravo over walker what are Guardiola smoking?

  • I'm listening on the radio and can't see the footage - so was it a handball (and penalty) at the other end before Fabinho's goal for Liverpool?

  • @MEHJones It was a clear and obvious penalty, TAA moved his arm away from his body to intercept the ball. But it doesn't matter bc Liv would still win.

  • @MEHJones Not really, just a referee interpretation. It was a confusing play, firtstly the ball rebounded accidentally in Bernardo Silva and immediately rebounded in Alexander-Arnold, who was with his arms opened.

  • @MEHJones- I'd have given it.

  • @SteveHyland Yeah, most people seem to agree (including I imagine Sissoko).

  • Sterling the Liverpool player will be MOTM LOL

  • 0-2 city win

  • 1-3 or 0-3. Liverpool's strength lies in running around. City will easily play through any geggenpress and Klopp will just tell his players to park the bus.

  • @Gummy I would be shocked if Liverpool didn't win 4-1.

  • Man city are getting heavily backed.

  • Fun fact: Aguero has never scored in Anfield (neither with City neither with Atletico) in 714 minutes!!!...very surprising...btw he is the most prolific scorer vs TOP6 english teams (in every competition): Aguero 76/54...Vardy 58/35...Kane 53/26...Mane 54/22...Salah 37/21...Firmino 47/17...Sterling 65/17...Aubameyang 28/12...

  • Liverpool now 2.75. Ridiculous odds

  • @mIKe9441 when PL-title is close Liverpool choke...

  • @mIKe9441 the whole world would laugh at them after a loss

  • @mIKe9441 cause they are PL-chokers

  • @Pastore10 Haha..

  • @mIKe9441 Match-fixing?

  • 3-2

  • 1 - 1

  • 2-1 Loserpool win to secure their ultimate 2nd place at the end of the season xD

  • @Nektarin the only joke here is your English XD

  • @craigofficial ok, 2-1 Loserpool's win to secure their ultimate 2nd place at the end of the season xD

  • 1X&over 1,5

  • GO Pep go we belive in you 1-4

  • @svetoslav go pep in your worst wet dreams 1:4

  • +1 score for Liverpool

  • clown Bravo in goal, so obvious home win, 2-1 or with some luck on Guardiola side 2-2.

  • Hoping for a draw and Leicester to go on and win the league. Why not?

  • @What Salute to who ever win the EPL. Don't be an idiot looser.

  • Everyone votes for the best MC players, but there is no vote for the worst players. Fernandinho will fail the match in this position. And also very important David Silva will not play. I think this is a real chance for Liverpool to win for the first time in a long time in this derby.

  • @floureed derby?

  • @koziol.mutant new main England derby)

  • Draw all the way.. take ur pick 1 1 or 2 2

  • X 1:1 The most important thing for both teams is to avoid the loss. The pressure would be very high and the coaches can't afford any risks.

  • Defense will play a major real in Liverpool victory

  • This has the chances to be more exciting than the UCL final.

  • 0-2

  • Mane has scored 16 goals in his last 15 league games at Anfield. Aguero has never scored at Anfield. Sterling has never scored at Anfield for Man City. Liverpool haven't lost at Anfield to Man City since 2003. Liverpool haven't lost in the league at Anfield since April 2017. Klopp is the only manager to have faced Guardiola more than 5 times and have a winning record against him. Claudio Bravo has conceded 21 goals from the last 40 shots on target he has faced. Liverpool haven't lost consecutive top flight games against Man City since 1937. Liverpool have won their last 16 home games in all competitions. Liverpool have reason to be confident.

  • @Nico1 statistics guru

  • @Nico1 Liverpool are performing a little below expectations this season in spite of topping the table.

  • @Nico1 Confident? Liverpool in the PL history are the looser of the loosers...so high chances they choke again.

  • @Nico1 Man city have reasons to win

  • @samirb100 With all your amazing reasons you've totally convinced me Man City will win.

  • 3-1

  • Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 31 domestic matches.

  • 1x easy

  • Liverpool form is coming to an end and Man City high intensity looks like its wearing down on them

  • 0-0 And Chelsea to get into second place

  • CHELSEA are winning the league. The front two are just pace setters

  • @SamuelOkellogum No way, man. (Chelsea fan here)

  • @SamuelOkellogum This isn't a footrace

  • 0-4 City win.

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 It’s. always 4-0 to Lfc when we play Barca mate

  • @CrazyBarcaFan00 you're a funny guy XD

  • 1x biggest certainty going around

  • City to edge it and close the gap...

  • Both teams to score is a banker

  • @footballover if you’re going to go in for that I promise you you’re better off waiting 10-15mins because 1/2 on is a terrible price for what is very likely to start off as a cagey game... I do understand the logic though, Liverpool can’t keep a clean sheet at the moment and City keeping a clean sheet at Anfield is far fetched.

  • This has draw written all over it.

  • Last time Manchester City won at Anfield was back in 2003, 20 games ago. I dont see them winning this one either, with Liverpool looking like they can't lose. 3-1.

  • Why do the bookmakers have City favourite? This is Anfield...

  • @mIKe9441 it’s 50/50 basically... also, anfield hasn’t seen a clean sheet since May.

  • @RMartin It hasn't seen a defeat since April......... 2017...........

  • 3-2 another thriller. Liverpool just edges out City because of their defense

  • Tough match to predict. Liverpool have been in good form with some defensive errors in some matches here and there. Man city have been in pretty good form after their last lose. I will go with 1-0. Liverpool will protect that lead with their hearts so they can increase their PL lead

  • Finally a real match! Man City will look to close the gap, LFC will fight like hell to prevent what could look like the beginning of a repeat of last season. 2-1 because LFC have more intense motivation and it's Anfield.

  • @benj City will score at least 2 goals mark my words

  • 1-2

  • Can't wait to hear the excuses from the manager that loses this one :D

  • Both teams to score and both to concede 2:2 but hope it's 3;2 with a last-minute winner :-)

  • 0-0

  • The only real prediction that we can make about this game is that whoscored is going to predict a draw.

  • People are underestimating Liverpool this year, everyone says they’re only top because of luck. But in this game they will show that while they are not quite as defensively strong as last year, they are better overall. 4-2 with a brace from Firmino. Will be an instant classic and likely the title decider come May.

  • @sarigginsUSA I agree. Liverpool are not inherently a 'lucky side'. It's not as if deflected shots or own goals gifted them the luck to claim the 1st spot in the league. In contrast, decisions have also gone against them. And let's not forget that Liverpool would be Premier league champions if VAR was in place.

  • @Big_Boss On what basis would Liverpool be champions if VAR was in place? They themselves had a number of offside goals / penalties for dives last season which completely argues against this statement. Also their winner against Sheffield was because the keeper basically threw the ball in his own net. 2 late controversial (match winning) penalties against Leicester and Spurs which many would argue were very soft and shouldn't have been given. Liverpool are a great side, I would just argue they have had an element of luck in a couple of games that puts them 6 points clear. Not to mention the luck they have had with injuries, very few of their strongest 11 have missed more than handful of games over the last 2 seasons. All being said - Luck or not, City lost 2 games which effectively has given Liverpool the 6 point advantage. Also just to note had VAR been used correctly this season (or wasn't in place) The gap would be less than 6 points.

  • @Jonnyh140109 6 times

  • @Jonnyh140109 There was a study where they examined all the wrong desicions. The conclusion was that Liverpool would have won with 1 point more than City. Every team has a certain amount of good and bad luck. Liverpool are no exception since they tasted both fates. However they are persistent and full of focus. That is more of a factor than calling them a lucky side. 'Luck they have had with injuries' HAHA.. you're done. Not only did you missed that Becker was missing for most of the matches this season, you also missed that Matip has been injured and Lovren will most likely start again against City. Van Dijk is not an injuryprone player, that has little to do with luck. Also, they dont rely on Salah or Firmino for goals. Mane has stepped up his game. What is more laughable is that you mention City basically 'gifted' Liverpool a 6 points lead. You might aswell contribute every point lost to 'luck'. What the heck is wrong with your proces of thinking?

  • @Big_Boss last time Liverpool kept a clean sheet at anfield mate? All comps?

  • @RMartin last time they lost?

  • @RMartin You're not making sense here. Please read the debate. The subject here is luck. Not goals conceded..

  • @RMartin I believe it was against Wolves in May19.

  • @sarigginsUSA lets be honest here, Liverpool are a good side but have been lucky in a number a games of this season. Controversial last minute winners against Leicester and Villa. Late winner against Spurs (although Liverpool were by far the better team in that game) Disallowed Chelsea goal, and they've generally been lucky with injuries. But you can't take away from them that they keep finding a way to win. I'm not sure why City are the bookies favourites here given Liverpools current home form and Citys recent poor record at Anfield. City's injury list keeps growing and they are very shaky defensively - I cannot understand how the bookies make them favourite's. My prediction would be score draw. I'm hoping for a City masterclass but I don't think we're going to see one. I think Pep will approach the game cautiously and try not to expose their defence as much as possible.

  • @Jonnyh140109 if you can play crap and still win .......

  • 1-2 Aguerooo...
