A poor perfomance by Frederick in 2nd Spurs goal, he let Alli be able to give a pass even from the ground.I mean, he had enough time to take the ball off instead.
Not very exciting game so far. 2-0 speaks more at West Ham being bad than Tottenham being good. Son and Alli are difference makers, but other than that I don't see a big difference between Mourinho's and Poch's Spurs.
@NigelBeat Weak transitions in the counter attack, lack of defensive awareness, no offensive buildup quality... All the same problems, lucky they're playing West Ham instead of a half decent team.
@HPereira I am looking at the results and I am excited. I became a fan of Spurs on Wednesday morning and I am glad so far with this performance. This is just the beginning.
@MEHJones I think it was a big responsibility for Fredericks,in a 80% at least, as he should took the ball of from Alli as he counted with many seconds to make it. Nice finishi play however.
@MEHJones Think it's a Fredericks responsibility in a 90 %, I mean he had enough time to take the ball off from Allii, but he doubted and then Son won the position. Nice finish play though
levy was as bold as he is bald, in regards to the sacking of pochettino. mourinho is a brilliant acquisition and will attract top quality players to a team that will be rebuilt on amazing foundations; spurs have top quality training facilities and home stadium - apparently all built within budget. i think mourinho will end the trophy drought at spurs.
If anything this will be a draw. Spurs have the better squad and would want to prove the new manager that they are worthy. West Ham my heart but I believe spurs will wrap this game in first half. 1:4
Tottenham to win and Kane to score. I believe that Mourinho will give a boost to Tottenham's players and West Ham is the best candidate for a restart for the Spurs. Score 0-2
@nexus747- And seem set to appoint Mourinho- a manager who spends big, overspend on players even, is reluctant to use young players and plays generally turgid football (sporadic moments of aesthetically pleasing football at Chelsea). Sacking Pochettino for Bielsa or Rodgers or even Eddie Howe would make sense but Jose?!
@dib No, that doesn't fit. Away results in the league haven't been good for 10 months and since the UCL final (when Poch hinted that he would leave if they won) the team have looked even less comfortable. It's closer to death by a thousand cuts.
@MEHJones So he started not to get along with players? I haven't got any idea about that. Anyway the decision would make sense but to me it's a little hasty; firing him in the middle of the season is not good...
@dib It's hard to know for sure. I think its more that Poch and the players still like each other but have probably lost a little bit of faith in each other. They've have been though a lot together over the past five years (moving home, cup runs, a couple of half-shots at the league, lots of World Cup related injuries). Poch pushes them hard in training. However, there are no trophies to point to (beyond the International Champions Cup) to maintain the trust and hard work and familiarity can breeds contempt. LeCelso, Sessingion, and Ndombele could have freshened up the squad dynamic but all three began the season unfit or unavailable (bad luck for Pochettino).
@dib An often overlooked factor is the recent lack of an effective defensive midfielder. Previously Dier and Wanyama were very important for shielding the defence and allowing a high press. Both players have been injured or out of form. Winks and Sissoko have not worked as long term a solution. In several games players like Eriksen, Dele, and even Kane have played deeper than they used to. This problem has seriously affected Tottenham's performances.
To date both teams have played Watford, Everton, Villa, Brighton, Sheff, Newcastle, and Palace (Tottenham 5 home 3 away and West Ham 4 home 4 away). If you compare their record based on just those matches (ignoring the slight advantage Tottenham has for an extra home game) Tottenham has a record of P8 W2D4L2 10pts 11gf 2ga +2gdiff whereas West Ham has a record of P8 W2D4L2 6pts 8gf 15ga -7gdiff. Neither record is great but Tottenham's is relatively better. Conclusion - Tottenham are not playing well this season but West Ham are even worse. The home side are always up for this fixture (thinking of it as a cup final) and will be dangerous from the wing but Tottenham badly need an away win. It'll probably end in another draw: West Ham 1-1 Tottenham
Just noticed some typos (which none of you lot noticed LOL!)... *both teams have played *City*, Watford, Everton, Villa, Brighton, Sheff, Newcastle, and Palace:
TOT..... P8 W2 D4 L2 10pts 11gf 02ga +2gdiff. |
WHU... P8 W1 D3 L4 06pts 08gf 15ga -7gdiff. |
Neither record is great but Tottenham's is relatively better.
Editted... DOH!
Tottenham are 14th in the Premier League - with just three wins from 12 games.It has been said that Poch will be sacked if he does not win at West ham. 2-2

Trying to workout why you’ve got Sebastian Haller only having one shot on target clearly remember him having two during the game
I fully expect Kane to join Pochettino at Real Madrid next season.
@SteveHyland I don't understand, Why would Madrid want Pochettino? Are you suggesting they will fire Zidane for Pochettino?

@HPereira I see a difference : Dele Alli was a ghost these past months under Pochetino. Mourinho asked him to be the real Alli and he listened.
@NigelBeat Weak transitions in the counter attack, lack of defensive awareness, no offensive buildup quality... All the same problems, lucky they're playing West Ham instead of a half decent team.
@HPereira Mourinho had only been there like 4 days, of course the same problems are going to be there.
@HPereira I am looking at the results and I am excited. I became a fan of Spurs on Wednesday morning and I am glad so far with this performance. This is just the beginning.
@HPereira Tottenham drew with Watford and Lost to Newcastle it's fair enough to give credits when deserved
@aymane.spur Brighton away too don't forget
@aymane.spur Haters have never let facts get in the way of their bias.
Great second goal by Spurs! :)

@dib great cross too. To be fair to Fredericks most people next to me in the pub relaxed and groaned thinking Spurs had lost the ball.

@idiot Spot on. No other active manager has won more trophies than the Special One.
@idiot SUPER LOL..... I think Woodward and LEVY are trying to outdo each other at all costs
If anything this will be a draw. Spurs have the better squad and would want to prove the new manager that they are worthy. West Ham my heart but I believe spurs will wrap this game in first half. 1:4
@albgunn So you think it'll be a draw and also that Spurs will win 4-1? Interesting.
I would be shocked if Spurs failed to win 4-1 under the best manager in the Premier League.
West Ham 2-3 Tottenham
Tottenham to win and Kane to score. I believe that Mourinho will give a boost to Tottenham's players and West Ham is the best candidate for a restart for the Spurs. Score 0-2
1-2
1-2.
0-1
Apparently Real Madrid want Poch and Kane next summer and will let Zidane carry on until June 2020.
@nexus747 Pretty sure I saw someone post that last year... and the year before that... and the year before that.
@MEHJones- It was probably me, to be fair. Ha
@SteveHyland LOLs
Boreinho will see this as an away battle against a fellow relegation candidate, so expect a classic Boreinho 0-0.
@What4 Big words from someone who's team us only three points below Tottenham (and with a worse goal difference). Enjoy it while it lasts.
@MEHJones *is and *above DOH!
Jose Mourinho said back in 2015 that he could never manage Tottenham because his emotional attachment with Chelsea is too strong. :)
@nexus747 , yesterday he explained that he said that before Chelsea sacked him.
@nexus747 So similar to Pocchettino about not to manage Barcelona due to his past in Espanyol!
Mourinho is already the greatest manager in their history.
@alwatp lol
Breaking news Tottenham sack manager Mauricio Pochettino after five years in charge.

Sacking Pochettino for Bielsa or Rodgers or even Eddie Howe would make sense but Jose?!
@nexus747 Yeah, surprising news. I think the team was broken since that 7-2 score vs Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
@dib No, that doesn't fit. Away results in the league haven't been good for 10 months and since the UCL final (when Poch hinted that he would leave if they won) the team have looked even less comfortable. It's closer to death by a thousand cuts.

Spurs have had a terrible 2019 so far in the EPL, winning just 11 of their 30 matches.
To date both teams have played Watford, Everton, Villa, Brighton, Sheff, Newcastle, and Palace (Tottenham 5 home 3 away and West Ham 4 home 4 away). @MEHJones This games got draw written all over it, both teams too **** to actually beat each other
1-2
Mourinho has a close eye on the job at Spurs.
@nexus747 well played Sir.

another epic fail for fat pochettino..
